• Never bend the power cord sharply or allow it to run across hot parts.

• Fully unwind the cord to prevent it from overheang.

• Never place the appliance near appliances that give o heat, such as ovens, gas cookers, hotplates, etc. Keep the appliance away from walls or other objects that could catch ame, such as curtains, towels (coon or paper, etc.).

• Always make sure the appliance is placed on an even, at surface and is only used indoors.

• Do not leave the appliance unsupervised if the appliance is operaonal.

• If you want to move the appliance, make sure the appliance is switched o.

• Do not use the appliance if the plug, cord or appliance are damaged, or if the appliance no longer funcons properly or if it is damaged in any other way. If this is the case, consult the shop or our technical service.

EN - 9• Never replace the plug or cord yourself. Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed by skilled persons. Incorrect repairs could cause considerable hazards for the user. Never use the appliance with parts that are not recommended or supplied by the manufacturer.

• Do not pull the cord and/or appliance to remove the plug from the wall socket. Never touch the appliance with wet or moist hands.

• Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Children do not see the dangers when handling electrical appliances. Therefore, never allow children to work with electrical appliances without supervision. Keep the appliance and cord out of reach of children younger than 8 years of age.

• The appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older and persons with a limited physical, sensory or mental capacity or lack of experience or knowledge, provided they use the appliance under supervision or have been instructed about its safe use and understand the hazards involved.

• Children are not allowed to play with the appliance.

• The appliance may not be cleaned or maintained by children, unless this is done under supervision.

• If the appliance is not being used or is being cleaned, switch o the appliance and remove the plug from the socket.

• If the appliance does not funcon aer it has been switched on, it is possible that the fuse or earth leakage circuit breaker has been acvated in the electrical distribuon box. The group can be overloaded or an earth leakage current may have occurred.

• In case of a breakdown, never make repairs yourself; a blown safety device in the appliance could indicate a defect that cannot be remedied by removing or replacing this safety device. Only original parts should ever be used.

• Never submerge the appliance, cord or plug in water. Follow these instrucons when using the kele for the rst me: Carefully remove the kele from the packaging and remove all packaging material. Keep the packaging (plasc bags and cardboard) out of the reach of children. Aer unpacking the appliance, check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport. Place the kele on a heat-resistant at surface. The minimum water lling volume is 0.5 litres. The maximum lling volume is 1.7 litres. Prior to use, the appliance must be lled to the maximum twice and the water must be brought to the boil twice. Throw away the boiled water and rinse the appliance with cold water. The appliance is now ready for use. The kele is only suitable for boiling water. Never ll the kele with milk, tea, coee or other instant drinks. Check that the voltage stated on the informaon plate matches the voltage used in your region. Place the connecon base on a at, stable surface. Insert the plug in an earthed wall socket. Place the kele on the base. If necessary, excess cord can be stored in the boom of the connecon base by rolling up the cord.

1. Remove the lid. Properly hold the kele when pulling o the lid.

2. Fill the kele with the required volume of water and close the lid by pressing it close.

3. Place the kele on the connecon base and make sure the plug is in the socket.

4. Switch on the kele by pressing down the on/o switch at posion 1. The indicator led lights up. The kele starts to boil

5. The kele switches o automacally when the water boils.

6EN - 13 Regularly clean the kele for opmum performance. Never submerge the kele and connecon base in water and/or other liquids. Before cleaning, always remove the plug from the socket and allow the kele to cool down. Regularly wipe the outside with a moist cloth. Neverusedetergentsorabrasivecleaningagents!

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

This symbol means that this product should not be disposed of with regular household waste (2012/19/EU). Observe the applicable rules in your country for the separate collecon of electric and electronic products. By disposing of the product correctly, you prevent negave consequences for the environment and for public health. The packaging material of this product can be recycled 100%, return packaging material separately. RECYCLING Cauon:never switch on the kele when it contains no water. If, by accident, the kele is switched on without water in it, the boil dry safeguard switches o the kele automacally. In this case, remove the kele from the connecon base and allow it to cool down for a few minutes. Then you can ll the kele with water and switch it on again. Check that the lid of the kele is properly closed. If not, the kele does not switch o automacally when the water boils and connues to boil. The kele switches o automacally when the water boils. The indicator led switches o. If you want to boil the water once more, wait approx. 30 seconds before switching it on again to allow the switch to cool down. It is also possible to switch o the kele at any me by means of the on/o switch. When the kele is taken o the connecon base while boiling, it will also switch o. When placing back the kele on the connecon base, wait approx. 30 seconds before switching it on again to allow the switch to cool down. Cauon!It is possible that a lile condensed water remains on the edge of the connecon base. This is normal and does not aect the funcon of the kele.

SWITCHING OFF THE KETTLE

Scale may occur on the inside of the kele. If you have hard water, it may be necessary to de-scale the kele occasionally. Use a suitable de-scaling agent for keles/coee machines and observe the accompanying instrucons. You can also de-scale the kele with lemon juice. The lemon acid in this juice will make sure that the scale is removed. This natural method prevents the use of chemicals. Fill half the kele with hot water. Add the juice of half a lemon. Boil the water and then allow the water to cool down for 30 minutes. Throw away the boiled water and rinse the kele once more. Never clean the appliance with cleaning agents. These could damage your kele. In order to remove the an-scale lter from the kele for cleaning, you must take the kele from the connecon base and allow it to cool down. Do not remove the an-scale lter from the kele if it is sll hot or lled with water. Push free the an-scale lter via the opening of the spout and clean it with warm water. When placing back the lter, make sure it is properly aached in the spout via the inside of the kele. Never place the an-scale lter loose in the kele.
