General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into opera- tion and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the work- place, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
- Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instructions“. Children
- In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach. Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of suffocation!
- To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance. Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

- The kitchen scales are designed for a maximum weight of 3 kg.

First Use of the Machine Battery Compartment (on the back of the scales)
- The battery in the battery compartment has been secured for transport with a foil. This prolongs the life of the battery.
- Please remove this foil to prepare the scales for initial use. Inserting the batter
The battery is a long-life lithium cell. If the letters “Lo” appear in the display this means that the batteries need replacing as follows:
1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the scales. Remove the battery.
2. Replace the battery with a cell of the same type „CR 2032“. Please ensure the
correct polarity (the side with the type designation CR 2032 is facing upwards)!
3. Close the battery compartment again.
4. If the device is not used for a prolonged period of time, please take the batte-
ries out in order to prevent leakage of battery acid.
5. Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.
Warning: batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes.
Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s. Never throw batteries into the fi re. Use The kitchen balance was developed to display the weight of food and ingredients. Please choose an appropriate location for your kitchen scales. An ideal place is a dry, fl at, non-slip surface where the device is readily accessible. Setting the Time (24 h) After you have removed the foil from the battery compartment the minutes „:00“ fl ash in the display and the letters „TM“ appear.
1. Press or keep the UNIT button held down until the desired minutes fi gure is
reached. Every press of a button is confi rmed by a beep.
2. In order to set the hours, fi rst press the MODE button; the hours display begins
3. If the UNIT button is pressed once, the display jumps forward by one hour. If
the button is held down, the rapid advance mode starts until the desired time is reached.
4. To store the time press the MODE button again. The time in the display stops
UNIT By pressing the UNIT button in the weighing mode you can select between grams (g) and ounces (oz). Countdown Timer Function
- To set the timer, press the MODE button once briefl y. The symbol „00:00“ appears in the display together with the letters „TMR“. Then keep the MODE button pressed down until the seconds begin to fl ash.
- When the UNIT button is pressed once the display jumps forward by one second. Keeping the buttons pressed down starts the rapid advance function until the desired time is reached. If the MODE button is pressed again the minutes fl ash in the display. Set the minutes with the UNIT button. Then press the MODE button to start the countdown.
- Once „00:00“ has been reached an acoustic signal is heard, which switches off automatically after approximately 30 seconds. The signal can be interrupted with the MODE or the UNIT button. The display changes back to the time as soon as the MODE button is pressed, or after approx. 20 sec.
- Press the UNIT button to briefl y interrupt and then restart the countdown.
- If the MODE button is pressed during the countdown, the display changes to the time and the timer continues to run in the background. In order to reset the countdown back to „00:00“, please keep the UNIT button pressed down.
- If the MODE button is pressed fi rst and then the UNIT button, the last timer setting entered is shown. The timer can be set in steps of one minute up to 99 minutes. Weighing Function
2. Place the item to be weighed on the glass surface. The weight is now shown.
If further ingredients are placed on the weighing surface the weights are added together.
3. If you would like to use an appropriate vessel, place it on the glass surface and
then press the ON/TARE button; the display is set to „0“. If the vessel is fi lled, only the weight of the ingredient is shown. Weigh-in Function (TARA) If you would like to weigh further ingredients for example, use the weigh-in function.
1. Press the ON/TARE button again.
2. Now put a further ingredient on the weighing surface. The actual weight of
after approximately 30 sec. in order to prolong the battery life, or you can keep the ON/TARE button pressed for approximately 3 sec. Handle the balance with care. It is a precision measuring instrument. Do not drop the kitchen scales. Do not load the appliance with more than 3 kg to avoid damaging the device. - Do not immerse the balance in water: the electronic components can be dama- ged.
- Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit.
- For simple cleaning remove the glass surface from the mounting in an anticlo- ckwise direction.
- Use a commercially sold detergent or soap for cleaning.
- The glass plate is not dishwasher proof.
- Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaners.
- Dry the device well after cleaning with a dry and soft cloth. In such cases please contact our hotline. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts are always subject to a charge. Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing (e.g. motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc.) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid! The guarantee lapses in case of unauthorized tampering.
