USER MANUAL MS 479 CB BOMANN

General Notes Before using this device, carefully read this Instruction Manual and keep it together with the warranty certicate, cashier receipt and, if possible, the original package and the interior packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the Instruction Manual.
- Use the appliance for private use and the intended pur- pose only. The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep away from heat, direct sunlight, damp (never immerse in liquids) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- Turn off the device and unplug from the socket (pulling the plug, not the cable) whenever you are cleaning or not using the device or it is not functioning properly.
- Do not operate the device unattended. Always switch off the appliance when leaving the room. Disconnect the plug from the mains.
- Regularly check the appliance and the mains cable for signs of damage. Do not use the appliance if damage is detected.
- Use original parts only.
- For the safety of your children, keep any packaging parts (plastic bags, cartons, polystyrene, etc.) out of their reach.

- Before replacing stirrers which rotate during operation, the device must be switched off and disconnected from the mains!
- Do not touch moving parts.
- Before turning on, make sure that the stirrer was inserted properly.
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, dismantling or cleaning.
- Do not repair the appliance yourself, but always contact an author- ized technician. In order to avoid hazards, a damaged mains cable must be replaced with an equivalent cable by the manufacturer, our customer service or any other qualied specialist.

- Do not immerse the appliance into water for cleaning. Pay atten- tion to the instructions provided in the Chapter “Cleaning”.

- Remove the appliance and all included accessories from the box.
- In order to remove any production residue, clean all acces- sories before initial use as described in “Cleaning”.
- Place the device on a stable, at and dry surface. Electrical Connection
- Check if the mains voltage to be applied matches the voltage of the appliance. Refer to the rating label for detailed specications.
- The redundant length of the connecting cable can be wound up at the bottom of the motor/heating unit. Connect the power cord into a grounded outlet (If foam tank (2) is not attached the LEDs in both buttons ash (6 and 7)). Instructions for Operation

2. Insertion of a stirrer: At the bottom of the tank (2) you
see the axle of the stirrer (8 or 9). Insert the stirrer (8 or 9) on the axle and check to make sure it can rotate freely.
3. Filling the foam tank (2): Fill the desired quantity of milk
or a hot drink in the foam tank (2). Note the corresponding MIN and MAX markers in the foam tank (2) (lower MAX marking for frothing milk, upper MAX marker for drinks without foam).

5. The selected button is lit continuously while the stirrer
(8 or 9) stirs drinks or foams. After about 2 minutes, the device switches off automatically and the respective button ashes about 8 times. NOTE: If the foam tank (2) has been lifted from the motor/heating unit (4), the LEDs in the two buttons (6 and 7) blink. Finish the operation and empty the foam tank (2)
- Turn off the illuminated button and unplug the power cord (6).
- Wait until the stirrer (8 or 9) has come to a standstill.
- Remove the foam tank (2) from the motor/heating unit (4) and pour the contents into a cup or into coffee.
- Clean all used components as described in Chapter “Cleaning”. Recipes Hot drinks: Cappuccino
- Use the stirrer to foam (8) the milk for a cappuccino and prepare hot frothed milk as described in the Chapter "Instructions for Operation".
- Fill your cappuccino cup rst with espresso and then add milk foam and cold milk. We recommend a proportion of 1/3 espresso to 2/3 milk froth. Latte Macchiato
- Use the stirrer to foam (8) the milk for a latte macchiato and prepare hot frothed milk as described in the Chapter "Instructions for Operation".33 MS479CB_Instruction Manual_new 01.07.16
- Fill your latte macchiato glass with the warm milk and milk foam. Then add the espresso. We recommend a proportion of 2/3 milk and 1/3 frothed milk and 1 cup of espresso. Caffè Latte
- Use the stirrer to foam (8) the milk and prepare a small quantity of hot milk as described in the Chapter "Instructions for Operation".
- Cover a double espresso in a large cup of hot milk with a little froth. Cold drinks: Cappuccino Freddo
- Use the stirrer to foam (8) the milk for a cappuccino freddo and prepare cold frothed milk as described in "Instructions for Operation".
- Fill your cappuccino cup rst with espresso and then add milk foam and cold milk. We recommend a proportion of 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk froth and 1/3 milk. Cleaning
- Unplug the power plug before cleaning (6).
- Never immerse the motor/heating unit (4) into water. It could result in an electric shock or re. CAUTION:
- Do not immerse the appliance in water: the electronic components can be damaged.
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.

- To clean the outside of the motor/heating unit (4), use only a damp dishcloth with a little dishwasher detergent. Stirrer (8 or 9) and foam tank (2)
- The stirrer (8 or 9) and the foam tank (2) can be cleaned in soapy water.
- Let the components dry well before reassembly. Troubleshooting Problem Cause Solution The appliance does not turn on or stops operating. Appliance without power supply. - Check the out- let with another appliance. - Insert mains plug (6). - Check the house fuse. The foam con- tainer (2) was not set properly on the motor/heating unit (4). Set the foam tank (2) correctly on the motor/heating unit (4) so that the safety switch is depressed. Problem Cause Solution The device is too hot. Overheating protection is activated. Allow the appli- ance to cool. Appliance defective. Contact our service center or a specialist. The milk foams a little or not at all. The milk is too hot. Use milk at refrigerator temperature. The stirrer for making foam (8) was not used. Insert the stirrer for creating foam (8) and prepare the milk again. The load capacity is exceeded. Fill the tank up to the MIN level. Milk escaping from the lid. The load capacity is too large. Reduce the load capacity. The LEDs ash when apparatus is switched on. The device was turned on without a properly insert- ed foam tank (2). - Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry.
- The power cord (5) can be wound up on the back of the unit.
- During longer periods of non-use we recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging.
