How to clean the cooking plate after use?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Remove the vitroceramic plate and scrape off residues with the provided scraper (sharp blade). Clean it with a dish brush and dish soap. In case of heavy soiling, soak it in soapy water or use an oven cleaner. Never immerse the regulator housing in water.

What are the temperature levels and what do they correspond to?

The appliance has 7 levels: 1 (70°C) for keeping warm, 2 (115°C) low temperature, 3 (150°C) for fish and vegetables, 4 (190°C) medium degree for tender meats, 5 (210°C) grilling, 6 (230°C) grilling, 7 (275°C) grilling at the highest degree.

Can I use aluminum foil on the plate?

No, never cover the grid or the plate with aluminum foil as this would prevent the heat from the heating elements from being properly transferred.

How should I prepare the appliance before first use?

Thoroughly clean all parts except the heating element. Brush the grid with a thin layer of oil. Preheat the appliance for about 5 minutes at maximum power (level 7) before placing food on it.

What to do in case of malfunction?

Electrical appliances should only be repaired by a qualified electrician. Contact a specialist or the after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Can I leave the appliance unattended while in use?

No, the appliance must only be operated under supervision. Do not use it with a timer or remote control system.

How to dispose of the appliance at the end of its life?

This appliance is for private and indoor use only and must not be used commercially. Please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it at a safe place. When the appliance is given to another person the instruction manual should be passed to that person, too. Only use the appliance as described in the instruction manual and pay attention to the safety information. No liability for damages or accidents will be accepted, which are caused by not paying attention to the instruction manual.

Safety information

• Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
• Do not use if the cord or appliance is damaged. Always check before using the appliance! Only the appropriate connector must be used.
• The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earthing contact.

The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience/knowledge, provided that are supervised or have been provided with instruction in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the resulting dangers. Children must not use the packaging as a toy. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are 8 years or older and are supervised.

• Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the appliance and the connecting cable.
  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance or packaging material (e.g. Plastic Bags).
• The appliance must not be operated using a timer or a separate remote system!

• After using the appliance or if the appliance malfunctions, always pull out the plug.

Attention! Housing and glass get hot. Danger of

burns! Do not place the appliance on a sensitive surface (e.g. painted furniture) and keep a distance of at least 3cm to burnable materials.

• When using a powercord extension it is important that children are not pulling at it or a trip hazard occurs.
• The appliance must always be unplugged in case of no supervision, prior to assembly, the dismantling or cleaning.

Working place:

Important: Never place this device on or next to hot surfaces (e.g. hot stoves). Only use it on a even, stable and a heat resisting surface. It is important that no inflatable items are near to the device.

Handle the grill area with care. Do not use when any crack is visible.

WARNING: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

Safety requirements during usage:

• Only use the appliance at a safety plug socket. This should be connected to a earth leakage circuit breaker
• The appliance must be supplied through a residual current device(RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA .
• Never immerse the appliance into water.
• Never leave the appliance outdoors after usage.
• Fat and other grill food can spatter and drop. Therefore do not place the appliance not directly on sensitive surfaces, e.g. Polished table tops, parquet or carpet.
• Be sure that the cable is placed that way that it cannot be pulled or touched during usage.
• Always unplug the appliance and cool it down before the device is carried away. Never carry it when it is hot.
• Unplug the appliance after each usage or before cleaning.

Grill preparations:

Oil the grill slightly before the usage. This makes it more easy to turn the food. Then heat up the device for ca 5 min; the thermostat on maximum level. The food should be not frozen during grilling. Please use the appliance only with the drip tray.

Never cover the appliance with aluminium foil, because the heat cannot get away from the heating element.

To avoid smoking and burning in of excessive fat or food residues, the grill plate should be wiped off repeatedly.

As the grill plate can be very hot, use ca 3-4pcs of scrunched paper towels and wipe off the grill area with a grill tong.

Stainless steel Windshield:

This helps to avoid a strong cooling down of the food on the grill. It also helps to reduce grill fat drops on the table surface.

Stainless steel warming tray:

Grilles food can be placed on the grill to be kept warm.

Cleaning and maintainance:

The device should be cleaned after each use
Unplug the device
The device should cool down a little. It can be cleaned easier when it is not that hot.
- Never immerse the device in water!
- Strong dirt residues on the Ceran grilling Plate can be removed with the scraper. Hold the scraper at an angle.
- Attention: The scraper is very sharp.
- Put the protection cover on the scraper after usage.
Use a humid cloth with a little bit of detergent to clean it.
- Burned in residues can be sprayed with an oven cleaner and should stay on the top for at least 1h. The solved residues can then be wiped away with a damp cloth.
