How to descale the Moulinex Noveo FG1901 coffee maker?

Descale every 40 cycles. Use a descaler sachet diluted in 2 large cups of water or 2 large cups of white vinegar. Pour into the reservoir, brew one cup, stop, let it sit for 1 hour, then complete the cycle. Rinse with 2-3 cycles of fresh water.

Can I use ground coffee other than for filter?

No, use only filter ground coffee. Too fine a grind can clog the filter and affect taste.

Why is the coffee not flowing?

Check that the carafe or thermal pot is properly placed, that the water tank is not empty, and that the filter is not clogged. The drip stop may block if the carafe is not positioned correctly.

How to use the aroma selector?

The aroma selector (fig.7) allows adjusting intensity. Turn it towards the black cup for a stronger coffee. Depending on the model, it may not be present.

Can the thermal carafe go in the dishwasher?

No, the thermal carafe should not be placed in the dishwasher or microwave. Clean it by hand with warm water and a little dish soap, rinse thoroughly.

Can I reheat coffee in the carafe?

Do not put the carafe in the microwave if it has a metal part (e.g., steel rim). Glass carafes without metal can go in the microwave, but it is not recommended to reheat coffee to preserve taste.

How to clean a heavily stained thermal carafe?

Fill the pot with warm water, add a dishwasher tablet and let it soak. Then rinse thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

What to do if the coffee maker leaks?

Check that the water tank is not overfilled, that the filter holder is properly locked, and that the carafe is correctly positioned. If the problem persists, contact an authorized service center.

What is the maximum water capacity?

• Always close the lid (a) when the coffee maker is in operation.

• The glass jug without a metal part is microwave and dishwasher safe (ATTENTION: the thermal pot must not be placed in the microwave or dishwasher).
• The power cord must never be close to or in contact with hot parts of the appliance, close to a source of heat or resting on sharp edges.
• Never place the appliance close to a wall or below a wall cupboard. The steam could cause damage.
• Never place the appliance below or close to easily inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, etc.).
• After switching on your coffee maker, never put your hand on the warming plate when you are removing the jug from the coffee maker. While in operation, this plate has a very high temperature, which could cause burns.

Before using for the first time

- Use your filter coffee maker without coffee the first time using the equivalent of a jug of water to rinse your coffee maker.

Preparing the coffee

(Follow figures 1 to 9)

• Use only cold water and filter paper n°2 or 4 (fig.5) or the permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Do not exceed the maximum quantity of water indicated by the water level on the tank.

• This coffee maker has a drip stop so that you can serve coffee before the end of the cycle. Once your coffee is served, replace the jug or thermal pot* to prevent overflowing.

• Ground Coffee: Use one measuring spoon of ground coffee per large cup.

• Wait a few minutes before making a second pot of coffee.
• Do not make another pot of coffee if the jug already contains coffee.

Thermal pot*

• Do not use the thermal pot without its lid.
• The thermal pot lid must be closed tightly all the way to the right to prepare the coffee and keep it warm.
• To serve the coffee, press the lever on the lid of the thermal pot downwards or unscrew the lid half a turn to the left*.
• Do not put your thermal pot in the microwave or dishwasher.
• Rinse the thermal pot in hot water before using so that it retains heat better.
• The thermal pot keeps your coffee warm for four hours maximum.

Aroma selector* (see figure n°7)

• The aroma selector (fig.7) allows you to adjust the intensity of the coffee.
• For a stronger coffee, turn the aroma selector to the black cup.

Reheating the coffee

- Do not put the glass jug into the microwave if it has a metallic part (e.g.: metal band).

Cleaning

• To dispose of the used coffee grounds, remove the filter paper (fig.5) or permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Unplug and let the coffee maker cool down.
• Clean with a cloth or wet sponge.
• Do not clean the appliance when it is still hot.
• Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.

Dishwasher:

• The removable filter holder is dishwasher safe.
• Only glass jugs without a metal band can be placed in the dishwasher (without lid).

Thermal jug*

• Do not clean with abrasive cleaning products.
• Do not put your hand inside to clean (risk of breaks).
• To clean your Thermal jug, fill it with soapy water and then rinse out thoroughly.

- In cases where the jug becomes very stained by the coffee, fill it with lukewarm water, add a dishwasher detergent tablet and let it soak. Afterwards, rinse out thoroughly.

Descaling

- Descale your coffee maker every 40 uses. You can use:

• a sachet of descaling agent diluted in two large cups of water;
• or two large cups of commercially available white vinegar.

- Pour into the tank (b) and turn on the coffee maker (without coffee).

- Allow the equivalent of one cup flow into the jug or thermal pot (f) then stop.

- Allow to act for one hour.

- Restart the coffee maker to stop the flow.

- Run the coffee maker two or three times with the equivalent of one jug of water to rinse.

The guarantee excludes coffee makers that are not working or are not working properly due to lack of descaling.
