Mechanical installation
JRENKFORCE
In most vehicles the producers plan an installation cut-out for the car radio. The choice of the location depends on safety aspects. Therefore we recommend that you actually install the radio in this place.
The device requires a DIN installation slot with the dimensions 182 × 53 ~mm . These installation dimensions are standardized and normally observed by all vehicle manufacturers.
Should there be no slot, please ask your car dealer about the correct place of installation for your car radio.

Please select the place of installation carefully so that the CD tuner neither influences the driver's activity nor distracts him from the traffic.
Only use the supplied installation material to guarantee a safe installation.
Any changes in the vehicle that become necessary for the installation of the CD tuner or other components, must be carried out in such a way that neither the traffic security nor the stability of the car are affected. With many vehicles, the MOT will lapse if you merely saw out a section of the sheet metal.
Since the CD tuner creates heat during operation, the place of installation must be heat-resistant.
Make sure before drilling the attachment holes that no electric cables, brake lines, the fuel tank or similar are damaged.
When using tools to install your car hi-fi components, observe the manufacturer's safety instructions.
When installing the car hi-fi system, take into consideration the risk of accident which can arise from devices being torn away in the case of an accident. Therefore, you should secure every component in a place where it cannot be dangerous to passengers.

Before you install the system, check the depth of the installation recess.
Installation Position
The angle of installation to the horizontal must be under 30^ . A CD tuner that is inclined too much, may cause problems when playing CDs.

Hands-free microphone
The hands-free microphone can be attached to the sunshade, the steering wheel column cover or another suitable place on the inside of the car.

The microphone and the connection cable may not be located in the triggering range of an airbag.
-
Attach the hands-free microphone with the clamp or the enclosed Velcro tape to a suitable spot.
-
Lay the connecting cables up to the radio installation slot.
Electric connection

The electric connection should be done by a specialist.
To avoid short-circuits and resulting damages of the CD tuner, the negative pole (ground) of the vehicle battery must be disconnected during connection.
Only connect the negative pole of the battery, when you have completely connected the system and checked the connections.
Only use a voltmeter or a diode test lamp for checking the voltage on the on-board cables as normal test lamps consume excessive current and can thus damage the electronic system of the vehicle.
When laying the cables, make sure that they are not squeezed or abraded on sharp edges. Use rubber grommets for the lead-though points.
The line towards the loudspeakers must be a bifilar cable. Insulate the bare wires at the connecting terminals. Ensure there are no sharp edges which could damage the cables.
Only use loudspeakers which have a sufficiently high loading capacity (see "Technical Data").
Make sure that all loudspeakers have the correct polarity, i.e. the plus and minus signs must match.
The connecting cables of the loudspeakers are usually coded: Some loudspeaker manufacturers indicate the (+) wire by means of an additional colour stripe, others use a corrugated cable for the (+) terminal and a smooth one for the (-) terminal.
The system was designed for the operation at loudspeaker impedances of at least 4 Ohm. Never connect loudspeakers with a lower impedance.

In most vehicles the cables for the electric connection and the connection of the loudspeakers have been laid directly to the ??slot??
If this is not the case, please make sure that any cables placed later are secured by the respective onboard fuses (see vehicle operation manual).
Connection of the loudspeakers and the power supply
The CD tuner has an ISO system plug.
Vehicles equipped with such a system plug can be connected directly to the system if the plug assignment is the same (please check beforehand!). If the assignment differs, please connect the CD tuner to an adapter.
Please refer to the following illustration for the contact assignment of the CD tuner socket.
Please ask you car dealer for the respective assignment of your vehicle system plug.

(7) Ignition +12V
(8) Ground (GND)

-
The constant current terminal +12V (4) must be connected to a cable that also supplies 12V permanently when the ignition is off (terminal 30 of the on-board network). This terminal serves to save the user settings, time, etc.
-
The aerial control output (5) supplies a voltage of +12V when the device is switched on. This cable can be used for the power supply of an electrical aerial, and for the voltage for switching on a vehicle amplifier.
-
The terminal of the ignition +12V (7) must be connected to a cable that is only live with +12V when the ignition is on (terminal 15 of the on-board networks).
Do not connect this terminal to continuous current, otherwise the on-board battery could be discharged when the vehicle is parked for a longer period of time.
- Connect the ground connection (8) with the vehicle body.

Adhesive techniques which become ever more common and painted metal parts impair the electric conductivity. Therefore not every metal part is a suitable earthing point.
Connecting the aerial
- Connect the aerial plug of your vehicle with the aerial socket at the back of the radio (socket next to the LINE terminals).
If your vehicle has a different aerial plug, please use a suitable adapter, available in specialist shops.
Connecting the hands-free microphone
- Connect the plug of the hands-free microphone with the MIC socket on the back of the device.
Connecting the LINE outputs
The CD tuner has four LINE outputs for connecting power amplifiers.

For the connection of the cinch sockets only use the shielded cinch wires. The use of other cables might cause interferences.
Keep the distance of the cables as short as possible.
Do not place the cables near other cables to avoid interferences in the cables.
To avoid distortions or mismatching that could damage the unit or the power amplifiers, the cinch connector must only be connected to devices with the suitable cinch terminals. For this, observe also the connection data in the section "Technical Data".
- Connect the sockets OUT FL and FR with the inputs of the power amplifier for the front loudspeakers.
- Connect the sockets OUT RL and RR with the inputs of the power amplifier for the rear loudspeakers.

The red socket is a terminal for the right channel
The white socket is a terminal for the left channel.
Inserting/replacing the remote control battery

Remove the battery when the device is not being used for longer periods of time.
Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when getting into contact with skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
Make sure that the batteries are neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fire. Do not recharge batteries. Danger of explosion!
- Take the remote control out of the steering wheel attachment as described further up.
- Slide the battery compartment cover on the back upwards and take it off.
- Insert the batteries observing the correct polarity. The positive pole of the battery must point upwards.
- Close the battery compartment. The latch must snap into place.
- Replace the remote control in the steering wheel attachment as described further up.

- If the remote control no longer functions properly, the battery is discharged and must be replaced.
- Replace the battery analog to the above description.
- Exchange the battery for a new 3V lithium button cell CR2025.

Do not turn the device on before you have read and understood these operating instructions. Check all the connections again. When you have done so, reconnect the negative pole of the car battery.

The preset volume is selected when turning the device on.
Set the desired activation volume by turning the volume control/selection control (2).
Setting the time ADJ
- Turn the volume control/dial control (2) clockwise to set the hours.
- Turn the volume control/dial control (2) counter-clockwise to set the minutes.
- This setting is applied automatically when the display returns to the basic setting.

When receiving an RDS station with time transmission, the clock adjusts automatically to the correct time and the manually set time is overwritten with the RDS time.
Button acknowledgement signal BEEP
You can set the button acknowledgement beep in three different ways:
BEEP ALL: The signal sounds at every push of a button.
BEEP 2ND: The beep only sounds if a button is pressed longer to select the second button function.
BEEP OFF: The signal is off.
TAVOL
In case of traffic reports and activated TA function, the preset volume is selected.
Set the desired volume by turning the volume control/selection control (2).
EON
Here you define whether the RDS-EON function is activated or deactivated (explanation see "RDS as reception concept" further down in this manual).
ON: The EON function is activated.
OFF: The EON function is deactivated
DSP
Here you can set up the integrated signal processor.
DSP NONE: The digital signal processor is switched off.
DSP CLAS: The sound characteristic is adapted to classical music.

Here you set whether the device is supposed to show the message ALARM when receiving a catastrophe warning.
ALRM ON: In case of a catastrophe warning, ALARM blinks on the display.
ALRM OFF: In case of a catastrophe warning, ALARM does not blink on the display.

The display message is independent of whether the PTY function is activated or not. Prerequisite for the alarm display is that the station actually sends such an alarm message.
If you select the setting ALRM OFF, you will still receive the message but it will not be indicated on the display.
Selecting the playback source
Press the MODE button (6) in order to select the individual playback sources.
Selection is made in the following sequence:
Radio > CD > SD/MMC > USB > AUX > BT AUDIO

If no CD, USB memory or SD/MMC card is inserted, or if a bluetooth source is not connected, these sources are skipped during selection.
Calling up the display information
You can call up different information via the display (5) with the button 9 / DISP (22) depending on the operating mode. Each push of a button switches the called up information further. After 5 seconds, the display automatically returns to the basic display (first display in the list below).
When an RDS station is being received
Radio operation: Station name > time > program type > received frequency
CD/USB/SD operation: CD/USB/SD information > time > program type > received frequency > station name
When no RDS station is being received
Radio operation: Received frequency > time > PTY NONE > PS NONE
CD/USB/SD operation: CD/USB/SD information > time > PTY NONE > received frequency > PS NONE

If the transmitter does not transfer any time information or PTY information, the display shows NO CLOCK or PTY NONE.
Radio mode
Receiving concept RDS
The abbreviation RDS stands for Radio Data System, i.e. inaudible, additional information codes are transmitted by the FM RDS station.
With the AN-8006, you have a CD tuner that is able to evaluate these coded data that are transmitted by most of the radio stations.
The following important data is transmitted:
- Program Identification (PI)
- Traffic Program (TP)
- Traffic Announcement (TA)
- Program Service (PS)
- Alternative Frequencies (AF)
- Program Type (PTY)
- EON Information (enhanced other networks)
- Clock time (CT)
Program Identification (PI)
These data help the receiver to identify a station. It enables the receiver to differentiate between areas where the same programme is transmitted. The car radio only switches to a stronger station when the reception gets weaker, if the stronger station transmits the same programme identification
Traffic program (TP)
This signal enables the receiver to detect that a station with a traffic programme is being received.
Traffic Announcement (TA)
With this signal the CD tuner can detect a traffic announcement and interrupt the current replay of a different audio source.
Program Service (PS)
This information tells the receiver which station it is receiving. It is directly replayed in the display of the car radio, e.g. BAYERN 3.
Alternative Frequencies (AF)
A list of alternative frequencies that send the same programme is transmitted. If the transmitter station currently received becomes too weak, the receiver detects from the AF signal on which frequencies it must search for a better transmitter.
Program Type (PTY)
This code gives the receiver information about the type of the transmitted programme (e.g. sports, classic, news etc.). The listener can select his favourite programme purposefully.
A national disaster alarm can also be prepared this way. However, not all the radio stations offer the PTY service.
EON Information
Many chains of radio stations with various programmes only have one programme with traffic information. If EON information is transmitted, a radio equipped with an EON function switches to the Traffic Announcement station whenever such announcements are made, even if a different programme of this chain is being played.
If you listen to Bayern 4 for example (no traffic announcement) and the TA function is activated, the radio will switch to Bayern 3 (with traffic announcements)) for the time of a traffic announcement.
Clock time (CT)
Many stations transmit the current time in the RDS data. If a radio receives this signal, it sets the in-built clock automatically.
Therefore, when you leave the transmission area, the RDS system has the advantage that it switches to a similar transmitter station that can be better received. However, it only changes when it finds a better transmitter station with the same programme.
Short signal attenuations due to the reception cannot be eliminated by the RDS system either, since this would mean that the car radios permanently switches back and forth. The listener would feel much more disturbed by this than by short-term reception problems.
Another advantage of the RDS system is that the station name is displayed. The station name of an RDS station is displayed in the car radio.
Function of the keys
- Buttons /# and /#
With these buttons the receiving frequency can be changed to adjust stations in radio operation.
By pressing a button briefly, you activate the auto-scan. The auto-scan only stops at the next station that can be received well.
To deactivate auto-scan and set the receiver frequency manually, keep the desired button depressed until MANUAL is displayed (5).

After some time, the device returns to automatic search and the display (5) shows AUTO briefly.
- Button 0 / AMS (10)
If you press this button shortly, the stations stored on the station memory buttons 1-6 (15) are played for 5 seconds each. To stop the auto-scan, press the button again.
When you keep the button pressed, all the stations that can be received well are stored on the station memory buttons 1-6 (15).
After this procedure, the stored stations are played for approx. 5 seconds each, as described above.
- Button /BAND (11)
With this button you can select the band range of the radio unit. There are 3 FM ranges and 2 MW ranges available: FM1 > FM2 > FM3 > MW1 > MW2

On each of the 5 band ranges, 6 stations can be stored on the station button 1-6 (15).
- Station buttons 1-6 (15)
Brief press > direct selection of a previously saved station.
Long press > the currently received station is saved on the respective station button.

Each of the three FM bandwidths (FM1-3) and also the two MW bandwidths (MW1-2) has six station buttons. Therefore you can assign 30 station buttons.
- Button 7 / TA (19)
Brief press > TA function is activated/deactivated.
When you receive a traffic program station, the display shows "TP" (traffic program).
When the TA function is activated, "TA" blinks on the display.
During a traffic announcement, "TA" is permanently displayed on the display.
After activating the TA function, the receiver starts a scan if no traffic stations are currently being received. The scan stops at the next traffic broadcast station with a good reception.
If a different audio source is being played (a CD for instance), the system switches to the radio during the traffic announcement.
When you listen to a radio program at a very low volume, the volume is automatically increased to an easily audible level (see TAVOL in the "Menu settings"). When the traffic announcement is over, the volume you were hearing before is restored.

Operation with mixed-mode CDs
Mixed-mode CDs (CDs with both CD audio files as well as MP3 files) can be played back with this CD tuner. In this case, playback starts with the MP3 files followed by the CD audio files.
USB/memory card operation
The CD tuner is equipped with a USB interface and a memory card reader for SD/MMC cards,
MP3 files stored on these media cannot the played.

Due to the great variety of systems with USB and SD/MMC card interfaces and their different functions that are sometimes producer-specific, we cannot guarantee that all media will be recognized and that all the operational functions are available in this CD tuner.
The USB interface is only suited for USB memory sticks, not for the USB ports of MP3 players.
Prior to removing a USB memory stick or an SD/MMC card, please switch the playback source with the button MODE (6), otherwise the system may malfunction or cause data loss.
If a USB memory stick or an SD/MMC card is not detected when inserted, remove the medium again and plug it in again.
The media must be formatted in FAT 32.
- Connect your USB memory stick with the USB port (24).
- When using a memory card, insert it into the SD/MMC card slot (25).
- The player switches to the respective input automatically and starts replay.
The operation is the same as for CD/MP3 replay.
Remote control functions
You can also control almost all functions of the CD tuner with the enclosed remote control. It also allows you to operate the Bluetooth® hands-free equipment comfortably and safe.
The buttons with the same name as on the device also have the same functions.
The function of the volume control/selection dial (2) is divided into two separate operating elements here, however:
- The buttons on the back of the remote control take over the function as when turning the volume control/selection dial (2).
- The button / BND / ENT (30) takes over the same function as when pressing the volume control/selection dial (2).
Bluetooth® Operation

For the most optimal telephone reception possible and to minimise the electromagnetic radiation in a car, the mobile phone should always be used with an external antenna.
In order for the mobile phone to automatically answer incoming calls, automatic call answering on the CD-Tuner (see the hands-free equipment section) and also on the mobile phone (see the respective manual) needs to be activated.
In Bluetooth® operation, the CD-Tuner can be used as a hands-free speaker for the mobile phone and/or as a reproducer for Bluetooth®A2DP-Audio-Streaming. However, before a communication between your mobile phone i.e. the Bluetooth® device and the CD-Tuner is possible, the devices must be coupled with each other. This procedure is called "Pairing".
Pairing
- As long as there is no Bluetooth® device coupled with the CD-Tuner, the Bluetooth® symbol on the display will blink.
- Turn your Bluetooth® device on and activate the Pairing mode (for this, please see the manual of the corresponding device). The device will then search for other Bluetooth® devices within its reception range.
- When the CD-Tuner is found, your Bluetooth® device will display the name ANSON - - BT.
- Enter the password 0000 to couple the devices together.
After a successful pairing, the display will show the Bluetooth® symbol as steadily on (5). - To end the coupling, push and hold the button 7 / TA (19). DEL PAIR will be shown on the display and the Bluetooth® symbol will resume blinking. At this point, all the data of the coupling will be deleted.

There can only be one Bluetooth® device coupled with the CD-Tuner at a time. Should there already be an active Bluetooth® coupling then any additional connections will be denied. To couple another Bluetooth® device with the CD-Tuner, the existing coupling must first be broken as described above.
If the CD-Tuner or the Bluetooth® device, with which an active coupling already exists, is turned off or moved out of reception range, then the connection will be lost. When the Bluetooth® device is then turned on again or returns to within the range of reception of the CD-Tuner, then the connection will be automatically restored. The display of the CD-Tuner will briefly show CONNECT and the blinking Bluetooth® symbol will return to a steady state.
To setup this automatic connection, the function on your Bluetooth® device might possibly need to be activated (please refer to your Bluetooth® device's manual).

Audio streaming
Audio streaming is the transmission of audio data (music) via Bluetooth® e.g. from a mobile phone to the CD tuner.
If you own a A2DP-capable Bluetooth® device, you can connect it with the CD tuner via the pairing procedure as described further up in this manual and establish an audio transmission.
- Make sure that both devices were connected via pairing.
- Start playback/audio transmission on your Bluetooth® device (see the corresponding operating manual).
- Press the button /MODE (6), until BT AUDIO is displayed on the display (5).

You can now remote-control the playback of your Bluetooth® device with the buttons! / * (8), / # (9) and 1 / (12) as usual.
Maintenance
Regularly check the technical safety of the CD tuner, e.g. for damage of the cables or the housing.
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be turned off and precautions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. Disconnect the car power system!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
the device is visibly damaged,
- if the appliance does not function for some reason, or
- following considerable stress during transportation.
Before cleaning the CD tuner or performing maintenance, the following safety instruction must be observed:

Live components may be exposed if the covering is opened or components are removed.
Prior to start of maintenance or repair works, the device must be disconnected from all voltage sources.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected from all voltage sources.
Only qualified experts familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations may perform repairs.
Apart from this, the device does not need servicing. The outside should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or a brush.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions as the surface of the housing may be damaged.
Handling
- If the volume inside your car is too high, you will not hear acoustic warning signals. This constitutes a danger to yourself and other road users. Therefore, make sure the volume is at a suitable level.
- Inattentiveness on the road might involve serious accidents. Operation of the hi-fi system may therefore only take place if the traffic situation permits and you are not unduly distracted by operating the system.
- For safety reasons, many countries demand the operation of hands-free equipment for making calls while driving. You may only telephone in hands-free mode with automatic call accept. Numbers may only be dialled while the vehicle stands still. Inform yourself accordingly prior to the use of the hands-free equipment and observe the traffic laws of the country you are currently in.
- Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.
