Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.
Important: This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Never leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised and within reach of children less than 8 years old or irresponsible persons, especially when it is plugged into the wall or when it is cooling down.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
□ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
☐ Regularly check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*). Should the cord be damaged, it
must be replaced by a competent qualified electrician(*) in order to avoid all danger.
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
□ Never leave the appliance and its power cord unsupervised or within the reach of children under 8 years old or of irresponsible people, when it is on the electrical grid or when it is cooling down.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
□ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
- Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
- Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
□ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
□ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.
☐ Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.
☐ Only cook consumable food. Do not place too large pieces of food in the food steamer.
☐ It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food.
- Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
- Never touch the hot parts of the appliance when it is in use. The ceramic bowl is a part of the appliance with hot surfaces. You must use its side handles and potholders when handling it.
☐ Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc. when it is in use, as a fire might occur.
After use and above all when the water hasn't completely evaporated, wait until the steam stops leaking through the holes on the lid, then open the lid carefully in order not to hurt you. Let the water drip into the food steamer. Slightly move the lid so that the steam does not reach your hands or your face. Caution: the condensation on the sides of the ceramic bowl may generate steam and burn you.
☐ Be cautious while transporting your appliance filled with hot food, water or other liquids. It is not recommended to move your appliance when it has not completely cooled down.
□ Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use.
☐ Only use the appliance for food that is supposed to be cooked.
☐ Use the appliance only at an ambient temperature between +5 and +35°C. Make sure there is sufficient air circulation and fresh air supply.
- Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
☐ Please note: Should the symbol be indicated on a certain surface, you need to be careful when handling the product. This symbol means: CAUTION, this surface may get very hot during use.
The symbol ⚠s always put on the surface with the highest temperature, however the other metallic or non-metallic surfaces can also become very hot during use and it is therefore advisable to always handle them with care and if possible with the help of isothermal gloves or other thermal protection. In case of doubt concerning the temperature of a certain surface it is always preferable to protect oneself.
(*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
- Remove all packaging from the food steamer.
- When you use the appliance for the first time, do not put food in the appliance in order to clean it thoroughly.
- Clean all parts of the appliance before the first use.
- Put the appliance on an even, stable work surface.
- Plug in the appliance. The food steamer is now ready for use.
FIELD OF APPLICATION/OF OPERATION
Use the appliance for domestic purposes only and in the way indicated in these instructions. This appliance is intended to be used for domestic applications and similar applications such as:
- Kitchen corners reserved for personnel in shops, offices and other professional environments.
- Farms.
• The use by clients of hotels, motels and other environments with a residential character. - Environments of the "bed and breakfast" type.
- Before use, put the steam boost insert (6) in the middle of the base of the appliance to speed up the heating process.
- Fill the base of the appliance with water below the MAX mark.
- Ensure there is sufficient water to avoid having to interrupt cooking. Water can be added during cooking if necessary.
• Assemble the base with the ceramic pot, ensure it is fitted correctly. - Place the food in the ceramic steaming pot. Do not add seasoning, herbs etc. until cooking has been completed. Use the grill rack if desired.
- Fit the lid. DO NOT OPERATE THIS APPLIANCE UNCOVERED - STEAM IS GENERATED DURING USE. Ensure it is fitted correctly otherwise steam will be lost and the food will not be cooked.
- Plug in the appliance.
- Switch on the appliance by pressing the On/Off button.
- Select the cooking time by pressing the appropriate TIME button. The cooking time is displayed in minutes.
- Cooking can be stopped at any time by pressing the On/Off button.
- A series of beeps will indicate when the cooking time is complete.
- To check the food, wait until the steam has stopped escaping through the holes on the lid. Take the lid off slowly, taking care to avoid escaping steam and the condensation. CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE STEAMING POT OR THE STEAMING UNIT. Using a long-handled utensil, check the food. If the food is not cooked, reset the timer and steam production will start again.
- When the food is cooked, unplug and allow the appliance to cool slightly in order to eliminate all the steam. Carefully remove the steaming pot using oven gloves or another thermal hand protection. DO NOT TOUCH THE STEAMING POT OR THE STEAMING UNIT UNTIL THEY HAVE COOLED. Remove the food and add seasonings, if desired.
- Allow any water to cool before emptying and cleaning.
- If the water level falls too low during cooking, the heat will be removed and a warning signal will appear.

Hints:
- It is possible to cook foodstuffs with very different cooking times but this needs frequent operations to take away the food that will be ready. To avoid this, it is recommended to prepare food with similar cooking time.
- Frozen food does not need to be defrosted, but its cooking time will be longer.
CARE AND CLEANING
- The ceramic pot and the lid may be washed with soapy water or you can place them in the dishwasher. Never use abrasive cleaners to clean your appliance: it could damage the surfaces.
- The body of the appliance should be washed with a smooth cloth or with a slightly damp sponge.
- Never immerse the body in water or any other liquid.
