3Congratulations on buying this Philips Air Cleaner! With your Philips Air Cleaner HR 4366 or HR 4368 you can effectively improve the quality of the air you breathe at home and in the office. It significantly reduces indoor air pollution caused by pollen, dust, bacteria, viruses, fungi, moulds, yeasts and smoke as well as many household odours and smells from outside (e.g. from traffic or industry). When comparing air cleaners, you will see that many terms are used by manufacturers to show how effective their products are. The measure that indicates best the effectiveness of an air cleaner as a whole is the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR). In general, an air cleaner with a higher CADR will remove airborne particles faster from a room of a particular size than one with a lower CADR. The CADR’s of the HR 4366 for tobacco smoke, dust and pollen are 46, 54 and 79 m

/h). How does the Philips Air Cleaner work? To remove even the smallest particles from the air, the HR 4366 employs an unique 3-stage filter system. The HR 4368 employs the 3-stage filter system on each side. Pre-filter The foam prefilter catches the larger dust particles such as fluff and hairs. HEPA/carbon filter HEPA filter This (white) filter is made from glass fibres closely matted together to prevent particles from passing through. Similar filters are used in most hospital operating rooms. Active carbon filter The black filter is the active carbon filter. Active carbon is the only material that effectively adsorbs household odours like tobacco smoke, pet and cooking odours.

English Which type of Air Cleaner is suitable? To purify effectively the air in a room or a part of a room we advise: - Air cleaner type HR 4366 for rooms up to approx. 12 m

- Air cleaner type HR 4368 for rooms up to approx. 22 m

It is also possible to place more than one air cleaner in the same room. This is particularly advisable if the room is very large and/or has an irregular shape. In that case, place the air cleaners as far away from each other as possible.
