How to turn on and off the Silva Trail Runner II headlamp?

To turn on, briefly press the button on top of the lamp. The lamp starts in Max mode. Each successive press alternates between Min and back to Max. To turn off, press and hold the button for 1 second.

How to activate flash mode?

From the off state, press and hold the button for 1 second to start flash mode. To turn off, press and hold the button again for 1 second.

What type of batteries to use and how to insert them?

Use 3 AAA batteries (alkaline, NiMH or Lithium). Open the battery compartment, insert them respecting polarity (+/-). Do not mix batteries of different brands or charge levels.

Is the lamp waterproof?

Yes, it has a waterproof rating of IPX6, which means it resists powerful water jets. It can be used in the rain, but is not designed to be submerged.

How to interpret the battery level indicator?

When you turn off the lamp, a small LED at the front lights up for 5 seconds. Green = sufficient charge, Orange = medium charge, Red = batteries almost empty. This indicator is only valid for alkaline batteries.

What is the battery life of the lamp in each mode?

In Max mode: 30 hours, Min mode: 90 hours, Flash mode: 100 hours.

Can we use rechargeable batteries?

Yes, NiMH rechargeable batteries can be used. For temperatures below -10 °C, Lithium batteries offer better runtime.

How to clean the lamp and the headband?

The lamp can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The elastic headband can be machine washed at 40 °C. Make sure to remove the batteries before cleaning.

What to do if the lamp does not turn on?

First check that the batteries are correctly inserted respecting polarity. If they are worn out, replace them with new ones. Also make sure the compartment is properly closed.

How to recycle the lamp and used batteries?

The lamp and batteries must be recycled according to local regulations. Do not throw them with household waste. Drop them off at an appropriate collection point.

Thank you for choosing Silva Trail Runner ll headlamp. This ultracompact high power headlamp is designed for sportsmen who put performance and weight first.

The Trail. Runner II™ headlamp is equipped with Intelligent Light® which is a light distribution technology that combines a wide angle flood light with a long reach spot light. This unique light image gives the user peripheral and long distance vision at the same time. For a runner, cross country skier, mountain biker or night orienteer this translates into less head movement, increased control, better balance and more speed.

BEFORE USE

ADJUST THE HEADBAND

The elastic headband with anti-slip rubber on the inside is designed to give a comfortable fit at speed activities such as running, XC skiing etc. Adjust the headband by moving the sliding buckle to fit it onto your head.

INSERT THE BATTERIES 1

Open the battery case and insert the three AAA batteries. Either Alkaline (Included), NiMH or Lithium batteries can be used. For operation in temperatures below -10^ , Lithium batteries will give significantly longer burn time. Please note the battery polarity. Do not mix different brands of batteries. Do not mix batteries with different levels of discharge.

If you don't intend to use the headlamp for several months, make sure you remove the batteries from the lamp.

DURING USE

SWITCH ON YOUR HEADLAMP

On the side of the headlamp body there is a push button which controls all light modes.

Each press on the button gives you the following light:

1. Turns the headlamp ON in max mode.
2. Switches to Min mode
3. Starts over from 1

To turn OFF the headlamp; press and hold the button for 1 second.

The flash function, which is used to attract attention, is started from OFF mode by pressing and holding the button for 1 second. To turn OFF: press and hold the button for 1 second.

BATTERY STATUS INDICATION

When the headlamp is turned off a small LED is turned on inside the front of the headlamp to indicate the status of the batteries. This indication will be on for 5 seconds. Please note that this indication is valid for Alkaline batteries only. Green light - Battery in good condition Orange - Medium Red - Battery in poor condition

MAINTENANCE

To make sure you get maximum performance from your Trail Runner II headlamp, clean it regularly with a damp cloth.
