USER MANUAL Explore 2 Silva Schneider
Thank you for choosing SILVA Explore 2 headlamp. This extra durable and waterproof headlamp is designed for use in rough environments.
Explore 2 is equipped with Intelligent Light® which is a light distribution technology that combines a wide-angle flood light with a long reach spot light. This unique light image gives the user peripheral and long distance vision at the same time.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Explore 2/2X packaging consists of the following parts:
- Headlamp unit
- Head band • USB charge cable (Explore 2X only) • 3xAAA batteries (Explore 2 only) • Helmet bracket including 3M adhesive

BEFORE USE
Charging the Li-ion battery (Explore 2X)
Before first use the battery must be charged. Open the lid on the right-hand side of the headlamp by turning the lid counter clock wise. Connect the charge cable and the red indicator LED will light up. When the light is turns green, the battery is fully charged. Disconnect the charge cable.
Note! Make sure to close the lid when the charging is finished to assure water protection.
INSERT BATTERIES (EXPLORE 2)
Open the lid on the right-hand side of the headlamp by turning the lid counter clock wise. Note polarity markings inside the headlamp body and insert the batteries.
Note!
- Make sure to close the lid when the batteries are inserted to assure water protection.
- Do not mix brands of batteries
- Do not mix new and old batteries
ADJUST THE HEADBAND
The elastic headband with anti-slip rubber on the inside is designed to give a comfortable fit at all times. Adjust the headband by moving the sliding buckle to fit it onto your head.
DURING USE
SWITCH ON YOUR HEADLAMP
On the left-hand side of the headlamp body there is a push button which controls all light modes.

BATTERY STATUS INDICATION
When the headlamp is turned OFF, a small LED is turned on inside the front of the headlamp to indicate the status of the batteries. This indication will be on for 3 seconds.
Explore 2X:
- Green light – Battery in good - medium condition
- Red light – Battery needs charging
Explore 2:
- Green light – Battery in good condition
- Orange light – Battery in medium condition
- Red light – Battery needs to be replaced
AFTER USE
MAINTENANCE
To make sure you get maximum performance from your Explore 2 headlamp, clean it regularly with a damp cloth. Headset cleaning – wash in washing machine at 40°C.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PRECAUTIONS (EXPLORE 2X)
- Explore 2X has an internal Li-ion battery and should be stored in a dry environment within the temperature range of -20°C to +35°C.
- If you would like to store your lamp for longer periods (more than 30 days) the battery should be 50% charged. Recharge at least every 6 months.
- Do not expose the lamp with battery to extreme temperatures which may cause fire or explosion.
- Do not disassemble or mistreat the battery, risk for chemical burn.
- Recharge only with a USB cable. The charger's output voltage must not exceed 5.5V. Use only a CE/UL approved charger, computer or portable power supply.
- Never leave the lamp unattended while charging.

Headlamp and batteries should be recycled and must not be thrown in the regular trash. Dispose these items in accordance with applicable local regulations.
WARRANTY
SILVA warrants that, for a period of two (2) years, your SILVA Product will be substantially free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. SILVA's liability under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing the product. This limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser.
If the Product proves defective during the Warranty Period please contact the original place of purchase. Make sure to have your proof of purchase on hand when returning the product. Returns cannot be processed without the original proof of purchase. This warranty does not apply if the Product has been altered, not been installed, operated, repaired, or maintained in accordance with instructions supplied by SILVA, or has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence or accident. Neither does the warranty cover normal wear and tear. SILVA is not responsible for any consequences, direct or indirect, or damage resultant from use of this product. In no event will SILVA's liability exceed the amount paid by you for the product. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This Warranty is valid and may be processed only in the country of purchase.
