How to prepare coffee with the Turmix CitiZ & Milk TX 270 machine?

Fill the water tank, turn on the machine by pressing the Espresso or Lungo button, wait until the lights are steady. Lift the lever, insert a Nespresso capsule, close the lever, place a cup under the outlet, then press the Espresso (40 ml) or Lungo (110 ml) button. The preparation stops automatically.

How to use the Aeroccino milk frother?

Attach the whisk or mixer to the bottom of the frother. Fill with milk (do not exceed the max level). For hot foam, briefly press the button (duration about 70-80 s). For cold foam, hold the button for 2 seconds (duration about 60 s). Preferably use cold UHT whole or semi-skimmed milk.

How to customize the water volume per cup?

Turn on the machine, wait until it is ready (steady lights). Place a cup under the outlet, then hold down the Espresso or Lungo button. Release the button when the desired volume is reached. The new volume is saved.

What to do if the machine does not turn on?

Check the mains power, plug, voltage and fuse. If the problem persists, contact the Nespresso Club.

How to descale the machine?

Empty the drip tray and capsule container. Fill the water tank with 0.5 L of drinking water and add 1 dose of Nespresso descaling liquid. Press both Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter descaling mode. Press Lungo and wait until the tank is empty. Repeat with the same solution, then rinse with clean water. To exit mode, press both buttons again for 3 seconds.

How to clean the milk frother?

Detach the frother from the connector, remove the whisk by hand. Remove the lid seal. Rinse all parts with clean water and clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not put in dishwasher. Replace the whisk after drying.

Why is the coffee flowing slowly?

This may depend on the type of coffee. If the problem persists, descaling may be necessary. Refer to the descaling section in the manual.

How to empty the system before a prolonged absence?

Press Espresso and Lungo simultaneously to turn off the machine. Remove the water tank, open and close the lever. The machine empties automatically and turns off. Empty and clean the capsule container and drip tray.

What to do if both lights flash in ready mode?

This indicates that the machine needs descaling. Follow the descaling procedure with the Nespresso kit.

All machines are equipped with a unique extraction system that guarantees up to 19 Bar pressure. Each parameter has been calculated with great precision to ensure that all the aromas from each Grand Cru can be extracted, to give the coffee body and create an exceptionally thick and smooth crema.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Avoid risk of fatal electric shock and fire.

• In case of an emergency: immediately remove the plug from the power socket.
• Only plug the appliance into suitable, easily accessible, earthed mains connections. Make sure that the voltage of the power source is the same as that specified on the rating plate. The use of an incorrect connection voids the warranty.

The appliance must only be connected after installation.

• Do not pull the cord over sharp edges, clamp it or allow it to hang down.
• Keep s the cord away from heat and damp.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons.
• If the cord is damaged, do not operate the appliance.
• Return the appliance to the Nespresso Club or to a Nespresso authorized representative.
• If an extension cord is required, use only an earthed cord with a conductor cross-section of at least 1.5mm² or matching input power.
• To avoid hazardous damage, never place the appliance on or beside hot surfaces such as radiators, stoves, ovens, gas burners, open flame, or similar.

• Always place it on a horizontal, stable and even surface. The surface must be resistant to heat and fluids, like water, coffee, descaler or similar.
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use for a long period. Disconnect by pulling out the plug and not by pulling the cord itself or the cord may become damaged.
- Before cleaning and servicing, remove the plug from the mains socket and let the appliance cool down.
- Never touch the cord with wet hands.

- Never use a damaged or deformed capsule. If a capsule is blocked in the capsule compartment, turn the machine off and unplug it before any operation. Call the Nespresso Club or Nespresso authorized representative.
• Always fill the water tank with cold, fresh drinking water.
- Empty water tank if the appliance will not be used for an extended time (holidays,etc.).
- Replace water in water tank when the appliance is not operated for a weekend or a similar period of time.
- Do not use the appliance without the drip tray and drip grid to avoid spilling any liquid on surrounding surfaces.
- Do not use any strong cleaning agent or solvent cleaner. Use a damp cloth and mild cleaning agent to clean the surface of the appliance.
- When unpacking the machine, remove the plastic film and dispose.

Descaling

CONSIGNES DE SECURITE

This machine is equipped with an energy saving feature. The machine will automatically enter power off mode after 9 minutes.

To turn the machine off before automatic Power Off mode, press both the Espresso and Lungo button simultaneously. Pour éteindre la machine avant mise en veille automatique, appuyez simultanément sur les boutons Espresso et Lungo.

Press button to start. Lamp lights up. Milk frother stops automatically.

TIP: use cold and newly opened UHT, full-fat or semi-skimmed milk.

Prepare an Espresso in a Cappuccino cup and add hot milk froth. Add sugar and sprinkle with cocoa if desired.

Proportions:

- Recommended with Ristretta, Arpeggio or Decaffeinato Intenso.

Fill a tall glass with hot milk froth. Prepare an Espresso and pour it slowly down the inside of the tall glass (350 ml) to produce a graduation of coffee colour through the milk and a three-layer effect (hot milk at the base, coffee, topped with milk froth).

Proportions:

2/ hot milk froth

1/3 Espresso

• Recommended with Ristretto, Arpeggio or Decaffeinato Intenso.

Prepare a Lungo in a tall glass (350 ml) and add hot milk. Add sugar if desired.

- Recommended with Vivalto Lungo or Decaffeinato Lungo.

Iced Cappuccino Iced Cappuccino

Prepare a Lungo in a tall glass (350 ml) and add sugar if desired. Pour this into a tall glass together with four to five crushed ice cubes. Prepare cold milk froth using the milk frother. Carefully add three to four tablespoons of frothed milk to the top of the glass. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg or cocoa if desired.

Proportions:

1/2 cold milk froth

A Lungo

• Recommended with Vivalto Lungo or Decaffeinato Lungo.

1. Press both the Espresso and Lungo button for 3 seconds.

Coffee comes out very slowly.	→ Flow speed depends on the coffee variety.→ Descale if necessary; see Descaling section.
Coffee is not hot enough.	→ Preheat cup.→ Descale if necessary.
Capsule area is leaking(water in capsule container).	→ Position capsule correctly. If leakages occur, call the Nespresso Club.
