Frequently Asked Questions - ST8225 TRISTAR

How to fill the water tank of the TriStar ST8225 iron?
Before filling, unplug the iron and set the steam regulator to the "no steam" position. Open the water inlet flap at the front. Use the provided measuring cup to pour tap water into the opening. Do not exceed the indicated maximum level.
How to adjust the ironing temperature?
Place the iron vertically and plug it in. Turn the fabric selector knob (1) to the position corresponding to the fabric: polyamide, wool/silk, cotton/linen. The LCD screen flashes until the temperature is reached.
Why is my iron not heating up?
Check that the iron is plugged in and the wall socket works. Ensure the fabric selector is not at the minimum position (no steam). If the iron is in auto shut-off mode, place it vertically or shake it gently to reactivate.
How to use the steam jet?
Make sure there is enough water in the tank and the temperature is adequate. Press the steam jet button (3) to release a powerful jet. Do not hold the button for more than 5 seconds to avoid water leaks.
How to descale the TriStar ST8225 iron?
Use the self-cleaning function at least once a month. Half-fill the water tank, set the temperature to maximum, unplug the iron, hold it horizontally over a sink and operate the steam regulator to expel hot water and scale residues.
What to do if water leaks from the soleplate?
This can happen if the temperature is too low for steam. Ensure the fabric selector is set to a temperature suitable for steam (cotton/linen). Also check that the steam regulator is not at maximum when the iron is not hot enough.
How does the automatic safety shut-off work?
The iron turns off automatically if it remains stationary vertically for 8 to 15 minutes or flat for 20 to 30 seconds. An indicator light turns on. To reactivate, place it vertically or shake it gently.
Can I use distilled or demineralized water?
Yes, if tap water is very hard (hardness above 17°f), it is recommended to use distilled water to extend the life of the iron. Never use vinegar or other chemical descaling agents.
How to clean the iron's soleplate?
Unplug the iron and let it cool. Clean the soleplate with a damp soft cloth and a non-scratching abrasive product. For stubborn residues, use the self-cleaning function.
What to do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use it. The cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or a qualified person to avoid any risk. Contact TriStar support.
