Frequently Asked Questions - TLWPA4226KIT TP-LINK

How do I reset my powerline adapter?
Press and hold the Reset button (using a pointed object, e.g., a paperclip) for about 10 seconds until all LEDs turn off and then turn on again. You can then re-pair it.
How to troubleshoot no Internet access through my powerline network?
1. Check that all powerline adapters are on the same electrical circuit. 2. Make sure the powerline LEDs are solid (not blinking). 3. Check Ethernet connections. 4. Connect a computer directly to the router to confirm Internet connection works.
What to do if a paired extender does not reconnect after moving?
1. Ensure all adapters remain on the same electrical circuit. 2. Re-pair the extender with another adapter. 3. Move equipment away from interference sources (hair dryers, air conditioners, etc.).
How to pair powerline adapters?
Press the Pair button on the main adapter for 1 second until its power LED blinks. Within 2 minutes, press the Pair button on the extender for 1 second. When the extender's powerline LED remains solid, pairing is successful.
How to copy the router's Wi-Fi settings to the extender?
Place the extender near the router. Press the WPS button on your router, then within 2 minutes press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second. The Wi-Fi LEDs blink quickly and then remain solid on success.
What does a blinking or red powerline LED mean?
A blinking or red powerline LED indicates poor signal quality. Move the extender to another power outlet to improve the connection.
Can I use powerline adapters on a power strip?
It is not recommended to plug powerline adapters into a power strip. Plug them directly into a wall outlet. If the adapter has a passthrough outlet, you can plug a power strip into it, but do not connect another powerline adapter to it.
How to configure the Wi-Fi network via the web interface?
Connect to the extender's Wi-Fi network (default SSID on the label). Open a browser and enter the extender's IP address (usually 192.168.1.1). Log in with 'admin' as username and password (or as indicated). You can then change the SSID and Wi-Fi password.
What is the maximum range of the powerline network?
The range depends on the quality of the electrical wiring. On average, the powerline network works on the same electrical circuit in a home, up to about 300 meters. Beyond that, the signal may degrade.
Where to find the declaration of conformity for this device?
The CE declaration of conformity is available online at http://www.tp-link.com/en/ce. You can also find it in the legal section of the manual.
