Symptom Solutions Inserted paper, but the machine is not shredding. Check if unit is plugged in. Check the power switch is turned on. Turn the control switch to AUTO. Check if there is jammed paper. If paper is jammed, turn the control switch to REVERSE to retrieve jammed paper. Then turn the switch to STOP and back to AUTO. Finished shredding, but motor continues to run. Internal sensor may be covered by dust or small pieces of paper. Turn the control switch to REVERSE to try and move the pieces of paper. Then turn the switch to STOP and back to AUTO. The machine is plugged in, but the Power On Indicator is not on. Check to make sure that the Pull Out Bin is pushed in correctly. Check the power switch is turned on. The Motor Overheat/Overload Indicator is on, and the shredder is not running. Too much paper was inserted into the entry at once or the motor is getting hot from over 10 minutes of continuous use. You will have to wait till the shredder cools down (approximately 30 minutes). The Indicator will shut off and you can resume shredding. The paper starts to automatically reverse. Too much paper was inserted into the entry. The paper was not inserted neatly and is jamming. After the paper is reversed, check the quantity of the paper inserted to make sure it meets the suggested amount. Then arrange the paper so all pieces go straight into the entry. The paper is jammed When using the manual feed entry, gently pull the jammed papers out. Check to make sure the quantity of paper does not exceed maximum capacity. Turn switch to STOP and back to AUTO. Re-insert paper. When using auto-feed entry, press and lift the safety cover and gently remove jammed paper. Re-stack paper neatly, ensuring quantity of paper does not exceed the maximum capacity, and stapled sheets are inserted with staples at top. Turn switch to STOP and back to AUTO. Re-insert paper making sure non- stapled side of paper enters feeding entry first. If paper cannot be pulled out from either entry, internal Jam removal function will automatically activate.
