Thank you for purchasing this product. Before use, it is recommended that you carefully read all the instructions and keep them for future reference. Do not use this appliance for purposes other than those described in this manual. SAFETY WARNING

Improper operation use may damage the appliance and cause damages to the user.

The appliance should be used only for the purpose it has been designed for. Importer does not hold any responsibility for damages caused by improper operation and treatment. o This appliance can be used by children from 8 years of age and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or with a lack of experience and knowledge if they have been ensured adequate surveillance, or if they have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and understood the related hazards. o Do not leave parts of the packaging within reach of children, nor use it as a game: it is an electrical appliance and should be considered as such.

Do not use the appliance next to sinks, bathtubs, showers or other containers filled with water. Do not immerse the appliance or its plug into water or any other liquids.

If the appliance gets wet or falls into water accidentally, in case you own a model with electrical engine, please unplug it immediately and bring it to the nearest authorised service centre.

In no case that you immerse your hands into water to recover the appliance without having first unplugged it.

An electrical shock may be caused by not following the above safety rules.

Do not use the appliance with wet hands or in case that the floor or the appliance itself is wet. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

Do not use the appliance if it drops onto the ground or in case that it is damaged or if the plug is damaged. In case of damages, please bring the appliance to an authorised service centre to have it checked and eventually repaired.

Do not switch the appliance on if it does not work properly or shows anomalies.

In no case that you try to repair the appliance by yourself, in order to avoid all the risks caused by electricity. Never place the cable on sharp edges and keep it away from heat sources and fire.

Do not unplug by pulling the cable.

Make sure that the supply voltage is suitable to the appliance power as indicated on product label. This appliance is not designed for professional use.

Never leave the appliance unattended while operating.

Children are not aware of risks caused by improper use of electrical appliances. Therefore, do not allow them to use the appliance without supervision.

Unplug the appliance when it is not operating and before cleaning it. Warning! The voltage persists until the appliance is plugged in.

Switch off the appliance before unplugging it from the wall outlet. Do not hold the appliance by its cable. Do not use cable extensions.

Do not use the appliance in corrosive and explosive environment, next to solvents and paints, in order to avoid electrical circuit breakage explosions.

The use of non-original accessories may cause damages to the appliance and invalidate the guarantee.

Before using the appliance, remove packaging and clean the removable components that may come in8 contact with food; make sure that they are totally dry before assembling them again. Do not wash the appliance or its components in the dishwasher.

Recycle packaging material as advised by your country’s recycling regulations. Do not let the children play with packaging material, danger of suffocation.

Before first use, make sure all packaging materials have been removed from the toaster.

Check in both toaster slots no packaging material is left inside Note: Do not place any bread in toaster during the first toasting to allow the new elements to preheat and burn off any dust which may have accumulated during assembly.

Do not leave the toaster next to curtains or inflammable materials. You should be very careful when using the appliance next to children.

You should not put the bread slices in the appliance directly, use the designated carriage instead. Never put your hands or any other body part into the frame of the appliance.

Never put any object, ladle, cutlery or tool into the frame of the appliance. Use only the carriage provided with the appliance.

Even though the appliance is covered by a thermal-insulated material, it could reach very high temperatures. Handle with care, danger of burns. Do not touch hot surfaces with your bare hands. Always use oven mittens.

Once you have finished toasting and the appliance is unplugged and switched off, some surfaces or the carriage may still be hot.

Never turn the appliance upside down when in use. Use the appliance only for its designated purposes.

Never place aluminium foil or tools inside the appliance – danger of short circuit.

Do not try to remove food when the toaster is operating, unplug the appliance before performing any operation.

Clean the appliance from bread crumbs regularly to avoid bad performance. Do not toast food that may melt to avoid any risk and possible burns. Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before storage.

Never force food into the carriage. Never toast buttered bread.

Excessive thickness of the slices of bread may result into bad toasting. Never use the appliance to toast frozen food or to defrost food.9

USE INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION Remove the appliance form the box and remove both the inside and outside packing. Place on a flat, dry, clean and heat resistant surface. Note: Do not place any bread in toaster during the first toasting to allow the new elements to preheat and burn off any dust which may have accumulated during assembly.

Make sure crumb tray is in place and bread carriage is in the up position. Set up toaster on flat, firm countertop surface away form the edge and at least 3 inches away from wall or rear of counter. Unwind power cord and plug power cord into nearby outlet. Turn the light/dark selector to desired position. The higher the number (1-7), the darker the toast colour. Press the bread carriage lever down until it locks in to position. To interrupt toasting before the toasting cycle has been complete, simply press the Stop button. After toasting, unplug the toaster from outlet.

TOASTING NOTES Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread, Moisture levels differ from one bread to another, which can result in varying toasting times. For slightly dry bread, use a lower light/dark setting than normal. For fresh bread or whole wheat, use a higher setting than normal. Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher

light/dark setting. Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles. When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins from the surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking on the guard wire in the slot. Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves. Single slice toasting: If you are toasting as single slice of bread, set the light/dark selector lighter than normal. The toaster is designed to heat the whole toasting chamber for two slices. By reducing the toasting time for a single slice it will not be over toasted. Frozen breads: Frozen waffles, pancakes, French toast and frozen bagels should be warmed using the defrost button. Pastries: Exercise caution when toasting pastries. The filling can become quite hot long before the surface of the pastry becomes brown. Light /Dark selector: Sets desired toast colour from light to dark. NOTE: THE NUMBERS INDICATED BY THE COOKING SELECTOR (FROM 1 TO 7) DO NOT CORREPOND TO THE REAL COOKING TIME BUT ARE ONLY INDICATIVE. Defrost button: Defrosts and toasts frozen bread.Indicator lights when selected. Reheat button: Reheat without browning.Indicator lights when selected. Stop button: Interrupts toasting process when pressed. Pull out crumb tray: Removes easily to clean crumbs from bottom of toaster. Cord storage: Takes up excess cord and keeps countertop neat.

DEFROST BUTTON The defrost button is designed to first defrost and then toast the bread, which extends the toasting cycle slightly. Turn the light/dark selector to desired position: Setting 1-2:refrigerated breads and thinner frozen items such as frozen pancakes. Setting 3-4: pastries, frozen waffles, thin French toast and refrigerated bagels. Setting 5-7: Thicker frozen items such as bagels, hand cut bread and thick French toast. Press the bread carriage lever down until if locks into position. If you wish to stop the defrosting before it is finished, simply press the Stop button.

REHEAT BUTTON The reheat function allows you to reheat already toasted bread or to toast bread which is not toasted enough during a short time without modifying the browning degree, about 25~40 seconds. Cold toast can be reheated, provided it is fairly moist and has nothing spread on it. Put toast into the slots and press the bread carriage lever down until it locks into position. Press the reheat button and the red indicator light will turn on.11 Toaster will operate for a short period only (about 25 ~ 40 Seconds). If you wish to stop the toasting before it is finished, simply press the stop button. The baking selector is not operating during the function heating

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Always unplug the toaster from electrical outlet and allow to cool before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Apply any cleaning agent to cloth, not directly onto the toaster. To remove crumbs slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and replace, Never operate the toaster without crumb tray in place. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and shake gently. Never inset any hard or sharp instrument into the slots as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster, use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster. SPECIFICATIONS: Voltage: 220-240V Frequency: 50 Hz Power Consumption: 600 W

The producer Melchioni Ready S.r.l. declares that the product Toaster Mod. TOSTO (cod. 118310008) is in compliance with Directive 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 26 february 2014, on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits. The producer Melchioni Ready S.r.l. declares that the product Toaster Mod. TOSTO (cod. 118310008) is in compliance with Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 21 october 2009, establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products. The producer Melchioni Ready S.r.l. declares that the product Toaster Mod. TOSTO (cod. 118310008) is in compliance with Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 8 june 2011 and subsequent Commission Delegated Directive 2015/863, on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. According to Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 4 july 2012, on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), the presence of the crossed-out bin symbol indicates that this appliance is not to be considered as urban waste: its disposal must therefore be carried out by separate collection. Disposal in a non-separate manner may constitute a potential harm to the environment and health. This product can be returned to the distributor when purchasing a new device. Improper disposal of the12 appliance constitutes misconduct and is subject to sanctions by the Public Security Authority. For further information, contact the local administration responsible for environmental matters.

WARRANTY Melchioni Ready s.r.l., based in Milan (Italy), via Colletta 37, recognizes a conventional guarantee on the product for a period of two years from the date of the first purchase by the consumer. This guarantee does not affect the validity of the legislation in force concerning consumer goods (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 n. 206 art. 128 and following), of which the consumer remains the owner. This guarantee applies to the entire territory of the European Union. The components or parts that are found to be defective for ascertained manufacturing causes will be repaired or replaced free of charge through the dealer, during the above warranty period. Melchioni Ready S.r.l. reserves the right to make a complete replacement of the device, if repairability is impossible or excessively expensive, with another device of similar characteristics (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 no. 206 art.

130) during the warranty period. In this case, the validity of the warranty remains that of the original purchase:

the service provided under warranty does not extend the warranty period. In any case, this appliance will not be considered defective in terms of materials or manufacture should it be adapted, changed or adjusted, in order to comply with national or local safety and / or technical standards, in force in a country other than the one for which it is was originally designed and manufactured. This appliance has been designed and built for domestic use only: any other use will invalidate the benefits of the guarantee. The warranty does not cover:

• parts subject to wear or tear, nor those parts that require periodic replacement and / or maintenance

• professional use of the product

• malfunctions or any defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, software / BIOS / firmware update not performed by authorized Melchioni Ready S.r.l.

• repairs or interventions carried out by persons not authorized by Melchioni Ready S.r.l.

• manipulation of assembly components or, where applicable, of the software

• defects caused by falls or transport, lightning strikes, power surges, liquid infiltrations, opening of the appliance, bad weather, fire, public disturbances, inadequate ventilation or incorrect power supply

• any accessories, for example: boxes, bags, batteries, etc. used with this product

• home interventions for convenience checks or presumed defects The recognition of the guarantee by Melchioni Ready S.r.l. is subject to the presentation of a tax document that proves the actual date of purchase. The same must not show any tampering or deletions, in the presence of which Melchioni Ready S.r.l. reserves the right to refuse the provision of treatment under warranty. The warranty will not be recognized if the serial number or model of the appliance is non-existent, abraded or modified. This warranty does not include any right to compensation for direct or indirect damage, of any nature, to people or things, caused by any inefficiency of the appliance. Any extensions, promises or services in this regard, insured by the retailer, will be borne by the latter13 TOSTO
