These instructions for use have been drawn up in compliance with the European Standard GB 62079.

ATTENTION! Instructions and warnings for a safe use.

Please read the use and safety instructions before using the appliance and follow these at all times. Keep this manual and illustrative guide with the appliance for future consultation. Should you pass the appliance on to another user, make sure to also include this documentation.

SAFETYWARNINGS

• The appliance may be used by children below 8 years of age, by persons with reduced physical, sensorial or mental abilities or persons lacking experience only if they have received prior instructions concerning its safe use and if they are informed as to the dangers related to use of the appliance.

Children may not play with the appliance. Appliance cleaning and maintenance cannot be completed by children without adult supervision.

• If the appliance is used in the bathroom, remove the plug from the socket after use, as bringing it close to water is dangerous even if the appliance is switched off.
• To ensure optimal protection, you are advised to install a differential current protective device in the bathroom the nominal differential current of which should not exceed 30 ~mA (ideally, 10 ~mA ).

ATTENTION!

Do not use this appliance near bath tubs, wash basins or other water containers! Never place the appliance in water!

• After having removed the appliance from its packaging, verify its integrity based on the drawing and check for any damage caused during transport. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact the authorised assistance service.
• Do not let children play with the packaging! Keep the plastic wrapping out of the reach of children; risk of suffocation!
• Before connecting the appliance, check that the mains voltage data reported on the identification plate corresponds to that of the available electric mains. The identification plate is attached to the appliance.
• This appliance must be used solely for the purpose for which it was designed, namely, as a hair dryer for home use. Any other use is improper and potentially dangerous.

DO NOT use the appliance with wet hands, damp feet or barefoot.

DO NOT pull the power cord or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the socket.

DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity or weather conditions (rain, sun, etc.).

• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning or performing maintenance and when the appliance is not in use.
• In case of fault or malfunctioning of the appliance, switch it off and do not tamper with it. If the appliance needs to be repaired, contact an authorised technical assistance centre.

• If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced by an authorised technical service centre, so as to prevent all risks.

DO NOT obstruct the intake filter and always keep it free from dust and hair.

• Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance.

Do NOT spray hairspray with the appliance switched on. There is a risk of fire.

The appliance features the innovative ION Technology

For the appliance features, refer to the external packaging.

To be used only with the accessories supplied.

USE OF ACCESSORIES

The hair dryer is provided with the accessories described above.

The accessory is mounted on the appliance by pressing it on to the front part of the hair dryer (4) until it is inserted. When finished using it, the accessory can be removed by pulling it firmly.

Nozzle for styling (7A)

Use the styling nozzle to direct the air jet as you wish [Fig. B1].

Diffuser (7B)

If the appliance comes with a diffuser, replace the styling nozzle to add volume to your hair.

Recommendations:

The diffuser is only to be used on damp hair in order to obtain a natural hair style or a natural drying effect:

• take a lock of hair and twist it in the diffuser. Make sure that even the ends are entered [Fig. B2].
• then switch the hair dryer on at medium speed and maximum temperature to dry your hair.

For greater volume:

• switch the hair dryer on at minimum speed and temperature.
• place the diffuser directly on your hair and move it from the bottom upwards, as if you wanted to lightly massage your scalp [Fig. B3].

USE

Refer to figure [A] in the illustrative guide of the instructions for use.

Appliance with separate keys for air flow (3A) and temperature (3B)

The two keys set air flow and temperature separately at the following levels:

Air flow button (3A) Temperature button (3B)

0 = OFF 1 = low temperature

1 = medium air flow 2 = medium temperature

2 = strong air flow 3 = high temperature

Cold air shot button (3C)

If the appliance has this button, use it to set the straightened hair.

• If this button is pressed while the appliance is on, the hot air cools and the straightened hair setting lasts longer.
• Once the button is released, the appliance returns to a hot air flow at the selected level.

Ionizer

The appliance has an ionizer featuring ION technology. This function is automatically activated when the appliance is switched on. The LED (5A) indicates proper operation.

STORAGE

When the hair dryer is not used, unplug the appliance from the socket and store it in a dry and dust-free place.

Do not wind the power cord around the appliance. Coil it up loosely with no tight bends.

MAINTENANCE

ATTENTION! Turn the appliance off and unplug it from the socket before cleaning!

Before re-using the appliance, ensure that all parts that have been cleaned with a damp cloth are completely dry!

CLEANING

Cleaning the appliance and accessories

Clean the appliance and the accessories (diffuser, nozzle) with a moist cloth when needed. Do not use solvents or other aggressive or abrasive detergents. This can damage the surface.

Check the intake opening of the appliance regularly and remove all hair and dust.

Cleaning the intake filter (6A)

If the appliance is provided with an intake filter, clean it as follows:

open the filter cap (6B), as shown in
- remove the mesh (6A), if included and use a damp cloth to clean it together with the filter cap (6B);
- let the parts dry well and put them back on in inverse order Note: the more dust is present in the place where the h dryer is used, the more often the filter must be cleaned.

DISPOSAL

The packaging is made up of recyclable material. Dispos of it in compliance with the environmental protection standards.

Pursuant to European Standard 2002/96/EC, the appliance must be disposed of at the end of its life span in a compliant manner. This regards recycling useful substances in the appliance, which reduces the environmental impact. For further information, contact the local disposal body or the appliance dealer.
