Instructions for use
Thank you for purchasing the Carmen Long-life Pro 2000. Please read these instructions carefully before using the product and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

Safety instructions when connecting the appliance:

This appliance complies with the recognized rules of technology and the pertinent safety regulations for electrical appliances!

To avoid damage or danger by improper use, the instructions for use should be carefully kept and followed!
- If you give the appliance to another person then you should also supply them with the instructions for use!
- If the connecting cable is damaged, it should only be replaced by a service agent recommended by the manufacturer in order to prevent any danger. Please contact the manufacturer or his customer service.
- The voltage of the power source must be the same as specified on the rating plate!

Connect the appliance only to AC current and to a socket with earthing contact. Do not pull the cable over sharp edges, clamp it into place or allow it to hang down! Keep the cable away from hot and damp areas!
Before use check that the appliance functions properly! The appliance should not be used if: -
the connecting cable is damaged
- the appliance shows noticeable damage

the appliance has been dropped

Never wind the mains cable around the appliance!
- Only insert the mains plug when the appliance is switched off.
Safety instructions when operating the appliance
Always use the appliance for the appropriate purpose!
- People with nervous disorders should not operate the appliance when alone in order to avoid any possible danger!
Children are not aware of the hazards of electrical appliances. Therefore close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by children!
- Keep packaging material e.g. plastic bags out of the reach of children!
- Never use the appliance with wet hands, in the bath or shower or over a filled washbasin. If the appliance falls into water, remove the mains plug immediately. Under no circumstances reach into the water when the appliance is still connected to the power supply!
- When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off!
- Never put the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation!
- Do not place the appliance or the connecting cable on hot surfaces e.g. cooker or similar or in the vicinity of open flames!
- To avoid damaging of the hair the air outlet should not be too close to the hair!
- Do not cover the air intake or air outlet during use!
- Make sure that you switch off the appliance when not in continuous use!
- The appliance is fitted with an overload protection which switches off in the case of an overload (e.g. air outlet or intake is blocked). If the appliance switches off during use, please reset the graduated switch to "0" and wait for approx. 5 minutes. Then, switch on again!
- The installation of a faulty current protective device with a rated breaking current offers you additional safety by ensuring that 30mA will not be exceeded in the house installation. Let your installation electrician advise you!

Safety instructions for cleaning and maintenance
- Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning and maintenance, or if faults occur during operation!
- Do not use the connecting cable to pull on the plug nor remove the plug from the socket with wet hands!
- Protect the appliance from moisture. Never put it into the dishwasher. Never immerse it in water!
- Only specialists are allowed to do reparations. Improperly reparations can cause considerable danger!

Operating Instructions
The appliance is only intended for drying and styling human hair. No liability is accepted for any damage resulting from use for other purposes, faulty operation or amateur repairs. Guarantee services are also excluded in such cases.
Preparing the hair
- Wash your hair and dry it well.
- Comb your hair thoroughly. Do not use hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care products.
Drying hair
Your appliance is fitted with 2 rocker switches, and a COOL SHOT push button. To switch on and regulate the air volume activate switch e. With the switch d, you regulate the temperature. For precision hair styling fit concentrator nozzle a onto the air outlet opening.
2-step air volume rocker switch
With the 2-step air volume rocker switch e you can switch the appliance on and select the desired air volume.
0 = appliance is switched off
1 = low air volume
II = large air volume
3-step temperature rocker switch
With the 3-step temperature rocker switch d you can select the power and therefore the temperature.
O = low temperature
O = mean temperature
= full temperature
COOL SHOT push button
With the COOL SHOT push button c you can lower the air temperature while the appliance is switched on.
COOL = Cool position. Lowering of air temperature depending on the position of the rocker switches for cooling down the dried hair sections.

1 + COOL = low air volume + cool position, 65 watt power
1+0 low air volume, 800 watt power
I + COOL = low air volume + cool position, 95 watt power
I + low air volume, 1150 watt power
I + COOL = low air volume + cool position, 95 watt power
+ = large air volume 800 watt power
II + COOL = large air volume + cool position 95 watt power
II + large air volume 1150 watt power
II + COOL = large air volume + cool position 100 watt power
II + large air volume 1600 watt power
II + COOL = large air volume + cool position 100 watt power
0 = appliance is switched off
Cleaning and maintenance

Protect the appliance from dust, dirt and fluff. From time to time remove and clean the air inlet grille b. Turn the air inlet grille counter-clockwise to detach (see Fig. 1 and 2). All elements must be dry before being inserted. Turn the air inlet grille clockwise to reattach (see Fig. 3 and 4).

Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Protect your appliance! Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agent.
- You can clean your appliance with a slightly damp cloth and dry it with a soft dry cloth.
Environment and Disposal
- The packing material and the unit and accessories are made of materials that can be recycled.
- Appropriate separation and disposal of the remaining materials helps recycling.
Guarantee
The guarantee covers this product for a period of 2 years, beginning on the date of original purchase. Use of the guarantee does not result in extension of the guarantee period. The guarantee covers manufacturing faults and material faults in original parts. Normal wear and tear and damage resulting from inappropriate use are not covered by the guarantee.
If your product requires repair, you should contact an authorised service dealer.
Never dispose of your appliance with the regular household waste. Follow the waste disposal regulations for your locality or return your appliance to the retailer. Retain the retailer's receipt as proof of purchase.
