Instructions for use

Thank you for purchasing the Carmen Complete Style 1000. Please read these instructions carefully before using the product and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

Safety instructions

Take note of the correct voltage (220/230V AC).
- Never use the appliance in the bath, in the shower, above a water-filled washbasin or when your hands are wet. The appliance should also not be used in the vicinity of a bath, washbasin or any other container filled with water.
- Never immerse the appliance in water. The appliance must not come into contact with water even when it is being cleaned.
- Never place the appliance on a soft surface (cushion, cloth etc) when it is switched on.
- Ensure that the air inlet and outlets are not blocked during use.
- The appliance is provided with protection against overheating, so that it will be switched off in the event of an overload (for example if the air inlet or outlet are covered). If the appliance

is switched off in this during use, slide the switch to the 0 position and wait 5 minutes before switching it on again.

  • Switch the appliance off if the drying process is interrupted for an extended period.
  • Remove the plug from the socket:

  • if a fault occurs during use;

  • before cleaning the appliance;
  • after every use.

  • Do not pull on the cable when removing the plug from the socket.

  • Do not wind the cable around the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance if:

  • the cable is damaged;

  • if the appliance is visibly damaged;
  • if the appliance has been dropped.

  • In order to prevent damage to the hair we recommend that the air inlet is not held too close to the hair.

  • Avoid hazardous situations. Persons with motor disabilities should therefore not be allowed to use the appliance without supervision.
  • Children do not appreciate the possible hazards of electrical equipment, so they should not be allowed to operate such equipment without supervision.
  • Keep packaging material like plastic film out of the reach of children.
    An earth leakage circuit breaker with a nominal tripping voltage of 30mA at the fuse box offers additional protection. Obtain the advice of an electrician on this. Hazardous situations may also arise when the appliance is switched off. The plug must therefore be removed from the socket after use.
  • It is not possible to replace the power cable. The appliance cannot be repaired in the event of damage or a fault in the cable. It must be properly disposed of in this event. In order to control risk, ask a manufacturer-approved service point for recommendations about inspection of the appliance.
  • This appliance must not be used for purposes other than its intended use.
  • Only specialists are allowed to do reparations. Improperly reparations can cause considerable danger!

  • There is always risk of injury when using electrical appliances improperly!

  • To prevent unintentional misuse, keep the appliance stored away in a safe place.

Operating Instructions

Accessories

Attachments can be removed by pressing on the front button marked <push> . When the two arrows (<) line up, the accessory is properly attached. To remove the attachment press <push> , twist the hair dryer until < is located against 0, then remove the attachment. To fit an attachment the appliance should be rotated in the opposite direction until < is against 0. Then twist further until < is against < .

Operation

Towel dry the hair after washing.

Round brush with metal bristles, 20mm diameter.

Brush the hair thoroughly from the roots to the ends. Working from the ends, twist the hair into a curl, switch on the dryer (position 1 or 2) and allow the warm air to play through the hair until it is dry. Then press on COLD AIR and cool the dry curl.

Styling comb

The styling comb allows long hair to be carefully combed smooth with the use of warm air. With short hair the styling comb can be used for styling and modelling.

Wave head

The wave head focuses the warm air on a small section of hair.

Switch

0 = appliance is switched off

1 = 500 watts, less powerful air
2 = 1000 watts, more powerful air

Care program

Pushing the pink switch forward into the CARE position programs the dryer to style and dry your hair at "hair friendly" temperatures with either of the two positions of the main switch. Sliding the pink switch back to its previous position switches off the CARE program and the dryer will operate at full power.

CARE button

Pushing in the CARE button allows the hair to cool. Regardless of the switch position, the temperature of the air will be reduced as long as the CARE button is held in (useful for example when cooling off a curl or styled hair).

Cleaning and maintenance

Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance. Never immerse the appliance in water. Ensure that the appliance does not become dirty. Clean the air inlet regularly with a soft brush. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft cloth. Remove any accessories and clean these also.

Guarantee

The guarantee covers this product for a period of 2 years, beginning on the date of original purchase. Use of the guarantee does not result in extension of the guarantee period. The guarantee covers manufacturing faults and material faults in original parts. Normal wear and tear and damage resulting from inappropriate use are not covered by the guarantee.

If your product requires repair, you should contact an authorised service dealer.

Never dispose of your appliance with the regular household waste. Follow the waste disposal regulations for your locality or return your appliance to the retailer. Retain the retailer's receipt as proof of purchase.
