Remove all the labels from the unit. Check that it is complete and in a good condition. If the unit is damaged or faulty, do not use it and take it to your retailer or after-sales service centre. + Keep all packaging out of the reach of children. There is a risk of accidents if children play with packaging materials. Intended use This unit is intended for household use only. It is not suitable for commercial or industrial use. The unit has been designed exclusively to cook food. Do not use the unit for any purpose other than its intended use. + Any other use may damage the unit or cause injury. Product usage Before first use + Before first use, set up the unit and turn the Temperature control knob to the highest setting for 5 minutes (> Use). This will burn off the “new” smell. Ventilate the room during the process. + Turn off and disconnect the unit from the mains outlet. Allow the unit to cool down before cleaning (> Cleaning and maintenance). Use WARNING! 2. Place the grill/griddle plate on the bamboo base by inserting the probe socket into the

4. Lightly grease the grill/griddle plate with cooking oil [such as vegetable oil, canola oil,

corn oil, sunflower oil, or peanut oil]. Using the unit CAUTION! Before connecting the power cable to the mains outlet, make sure the Temperature control knob is in the OFF position. Firmly plug the probe connector into the probe socket @ Connect the power cable to a suitable mains outlet @ Turn the Temperature control knob clockwise to the desired setting @. The heating indicator light will turn on to indicate the unit is on and heating up to the set temperature. The heating indicator Light will turn off once the set temperature is reached.

4. Allow the unit to preheat until the heating indicator Light turns off. Never attempt to

touch the cooking surface as a way of checking its temperature

5. Place the prepared ingredients on the grill/griddle plate to start cooking. During use, the

indicator Light will turn on and off while the thermostat maintains the set temperature.

6. Once finished using the unit, turn the Temperature control knob anti-clockwise to the

OFF position to turn the unit off @. HD:

7. Disconnect the power cable from the mains outlet 6. Allow the unit to cool down completely

before moving and cleaning. WARNING - Risk of burns! + Do not touch hot surfaces. The heating element, metal surfaces and accessible surfaces become hot during use and can remain hot for some time after use. Keep the unit out of the reach of children and pets during cooking and while the unit is cooling down. Never pour cold water on a hot plate, this can damage the unit and cause hot splashes. Important: + To protect the non-stick coating of the grill plate from scratches, use nylon, wooden or silicone cooking utensils. Do not use metal or sharp utensils. Do not cut foods on the grill plate. Do not rest cooking utensils on the grill plate Never use the unit to cook or defrost frozen food, as thermal shock can damage the grill plate and unit. Grilling tips + The grill (ribbed) section of the plate is suitable for cooking meats and fish. + The griddle [flat] section of the plate is suitable for cooking eggs, bacon, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and other foods. + Cut meats and vegetables into thin slices and small pieces to reduce the cooking time. Marinade meats or season to taste with herbs and spices. + Remove excess water and juices from ingredients before grilling. + Make sure foods are cooked through before eating.

Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning and maintenance WARNING - RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK! + Before cleaning, always unplug the unit from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely. + Never immerse the grill/griddle plate, bamboo base, power cable, plug, or probe connector in water or any liquid. Do not rinse them under the tap. e Clean the unit after each use to prevent grease and food residue from accumulating. e Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the unit. + Probe connector: Unplug the probe connector from the grill/ griddle plate before cleaning @. If necessary, wipe the probe connector with a moist cloth and dry completely with a dry cloth. Do not allow any liquid to enter the probe connector. e Grill/Griddle plate, probe socket: - Remove the grill/griddle plate from the bamboo base before cleaning. - lfnecessary, wipe the probe socket with a slightly moist cloth and dry it completely with a dry cloth. WARNING! + When cleaning, do not allow any liquid to enter the probe socket. + Before plugging the probe connector into the probe socket, make sure the interior of the probe socket is completely dry. - Use a soft, damp cloth or kitchen paper to remove food residue from the cooking surface of the grill/griddle plate. To clean stubborn food residue, pour a small amount of cooking oil over it and Let it sit for a few minutes.

Cleaning and maintenance - Clean the grill/griddle plate with a soft, non-abrasive sponge moistened with warm soapy water. Wipe off with a soft moist cloth. - Allow the grill/griddle plate and probe socket to air dry completely. - To re-season the grill/griddle plate, use kitchen paper to rub a thin layer of cooking oil on the cooking surface before storing. + Drip tray: Remove the drip tray from the bamboo base @. Dispose of the oil in an environmentally friendly manner. Wash the drip tray in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. The drip tray is dishwasher safe. ° Bamboo base: Wipe the bamboo base with a soft cloth moistened with water. Allow to air dry completely. Storage + Always unplug the unit before storing it. e Store the unit in a fresh, dry and dust-free place, out of the reach of children and pets. + Please retain the packaging and use it to store your unit when itis not in use for an extended period of time.
