Never combine different oils and do not mix fresh oil with used oil.
Never add water to the oil bath.
Take care to avoid coming into contact with the oil or the broth while they are still hot (risk of serious burns).
The oil may catch fire if it is overheated. The cooking times stipulated on the packaging of food products or recommended in the ‘Guide to cooking times’ table in this manual must be observed.
Never use outsized foodstuffs or foodstuffs still in their packaging. Remove all paper packaging, aluminium or clingfilm from food prior to cooking.
Avoid overloading the basket, in order to prevent the oil spilling over.
Ensure that the level of oil or broth in the tank falls between the “MIN” and “MAX” levels. Failing to observe this precaution will cause an easily-identifiable malfunction and is not covered by the warranty.
Do not exceed the “MAX” level when filling the tank, to prevent any accidental spillover during cooking.
Beware of hot vapours arising during cooking and any
splashes of oil or broth.
When the device is in use, avoid making any sudden movements liable to compromise the device's stability and make sure you do not touch the hot parts of the device.

USE
III. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Read the instructions carefully before using the fryer.
- Remove the fryer from its packaging.
- Remove all accessories and documentation and tidy them away.
- Clean the inside and outside of the fryer with a soft, damp cloth.
• Dry the fryer before use.
IV. OPERATION
3- Switching on
- Place the fryer on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Check that it is switched off.
- Open the lid.
- Remove the basket and handle and connect the basket to the handle.
- Pour approx. 0.9 l litres of cooking oil into the recipient (the oil level must be between the minimum and maximum levels indicated on the side of the recipient).
- Do not combine two different types of oil.
IMPORTANT! Never plug in the fryer while empty.
4- Cooking
- Plug the fryer in at a mains socket. The power indicator will switch on.
- Set the device to the desired temperature using the temperature control button, depending on the food you intend to fry. The temperature indicator light will switch on.
- When the fryer reaches the desired temperature, the temperature indicator light will switch off (after approx. 3-6 minutes).
- Do not add water and do not immerse wet food in hot oil. Even small quantities of water can cause the oil to splash. Ensure that all food is dry before immersing it in the oil.
- Place the food for frying in the basket.
N.B.: The food for frying should not be stacked higher than the top of the basket in order to ensure uniform cooking
- Lower the basket slowly and carefully into the oil. Ensure that the oil does not rise higher than the maximum level.
- When the food has been fried, open the lid.
N.B.: the steam generated during the cooking process will escape when the lid is opened. Take care not to get burned.
- Move the temperature control button to OFF and unplug the fryer. Do not move the fryer until it has cooled completely.
USEFUL TIPS
VI. OILS AND FATS
Use only oil suitable for cooking at high temperatures.
- Do not combine different types of oil.
- Change the oil when it takes on a brown colour following cooking (after approx. 20 uses).
• Never fill the basket to more than half its capacity.
VII. PREPARING FOOD
- Regardless of the recipe, the foodstuffs involved must be perfectly dry in order to prevent any spillover or splashes of oil and to ensure that the oil lasts longer.
- When preparing potato-based food (chips, crisps, etc.), cut the potatoes and rinse them under cold water to remove the starch. Dry them to prevent them sticking together.
VIII. COOKING
- Avoid filling the basket too much as this can result in the temperature of the oil dropping and the food cooked becoming too greasy. Avoid filling the basket to more than half its capacity.
- Do not heat the oil to high temperatures for extended periods as this may result in it deteriorating.
- Reduce the temperature to its lowest setting between batches.
- Do not leave cooked food to drain in the basket for extended periods. The steam arising may soften the food and cause it to lose its crispy crust.
IX. AFTER COOKING
- You can allow the oil to cool with the basket in place and the lid of the fryer closed. There is no risk of the oil deteriorating.
• Change the oil regularly.
X. USAGE IN FONDUE MODE
WARNING: THIS DEVICE IS SUITABLE FOR FONDUE BOURGUIGNONNE (OIL FONDUE) ONLY
- Place the fondue kit on the fryer (G).
- Pour approx. 0.9 l litres of cooking oil into the recipient (the oil level must be between the minimum and maximum levels indicated on the side of the recipient).
- Plug in the fryer at a mains socket. The power indicator will switch on.
- Maintain the oil at a temperature of but not exceeding 180^ .
- Each guests uses a fondue fork (H) to dip their food into the oil. The forks can be rested in the slots in the fork stand.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Prior to cleaning, unplug the device and allow it to cool thoroughly for at least 1 hour.
- Lift the lid carefully to remove it for cleaning.
- Soak the basket in hot soapy water then rinse thoroughly in clean water and dry.
- Dispose of the cold oil in the bin. Avoid emptying it into this sink, as this may block the drain. Clean the recipient using hot soapy water then rinse thoroughly.
- Clean the frame of the fryer and the lid with a damp cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive products or alcohol.
- Do not immerse the fryer in water, as it contains electrical components.
