Frequently Asked Questions - Tendancers 120 - 118 EU SENNHEISER

What batteries should I use in the headphone?
Use only rechargeable NiMH batteries of type AAA (1.2 V). Never use standard or alkaline batteries, as they could damage the device.
How long does it take to charge the batteries?
The first charge must last at least 24 hours. Afterwards, the charging time depends on previous use and can be up to 18 hours.
How can I improve reception if it's bad?
Use the TUNE potentiometer on the headphone to adjust the reception channel. If that is not enough, change the position of the channel selector located under the transmitter, then readjust TUNE. Also move the transmitter away from sources of interference (televisions, metal objects).
The headphone does not turn on, what should I do?
Check that the batteries are correctly installed and charged. Make sure the headphone is properly placed on the charging cradle. If the red LED does not light up, check the transmitter power supply.
Can I use the headphone while charging?
No, the headphone only charges when placed on the transmitter. It is not designed to be used in wired mode while charging.
How do I clean the headphone?
Clean the headphone with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical products or solvents. The ear cushions can be removed for separate cleaning.
What is the range of the system?
The range can reach approximately 100 meters in open field, but it may be reduced by metal obstacles or reinforced concrete walls.
How do I connect the transmitter to my TV?
Connect the cable to the headphone output of your television. If necessary, use the included 6.3 mm jack adapter. Set the TV volume to a medium level.
The sound is distorted or there is interference, what should I do?
Check that the channel selector on the transmitter and the TUNE potentiometer on the headphone are correctly adjusted. Move the transmitter away from other electronic devices. Make sure the batteries are sufficiently charged.
Where can I find spare parts or accessories?
Spare parts (power supply unit, cables, batteries, ear cushions) are available from authorized Sennheiser dealers or on the website www.sennheiser.com.

Preparing the transmitter for use

The transmitter is prepared for wall mounting (recess at the rear of the transmitter). The required mounting material (screws and plugs) is not included in the delivery.

1 Connecting the transmitter to an audio output of your audio source

Choose a suitable place near your audio source (e.g. TV, stereo or home cinema system). Avoid placing the transmitter close to metal objects such as shelf bars, reinforced concrete walls, etc. as this can decrease the transmitter's

range.

Connect the transmitter's audio connection cable:

  • either directly to the headphone socket or
  • to the 1/4'' (6.3 mm) adapter and a corresponding headphone socket.

Set the volume for the headphone output of your audio source to a medium level. If the headphone output volume is set too low, the transmitter automatically switches off.

Adjust the receiver channel with the TUNE control on the headphones.
However, if reception is subject to interference:
Change the transmission channel by setting the switch at the bottom of the transmitter to another position and re-adjust the receiver channel with the TUNE control on the headphones. Some electronic devices (e.g. televisions) can cause interference to your wireless headphone system. If this happens, increase the distance between the transmitter and the interference source.
