Tips for beginners • If you have not used an epilator before, it may take some time for your skin to adapt to epilation. In the beginning, epilate on a weekly basis to help reduce the discomfort. • First time users should epilate in the evening so that reddening can disappear overnight. To relax the skin, we recommend applying a moisturizing cream after epilation. • Epilation is easier and more comfortable when the hair is between 0.5 – 3 mm long. If hairs are longer, we recommend that you shorten them. • Exfoliation avoids ingrown hairs and provides optimum conditions for epilation. • We recommend using the massage cap with the SensoSmart function activated. Getting prepared Dry usage: Your skin must be dry and free from grease or cream. Wet usage: Make sure your skin is very moist to achieve optimum gliding conditions for the appliance. Make sure that the epilation head (2) is clean and provided with a cap. How to epilate Always stretch your skin while epilating. Guide the appliance in a slow, continuous movement without pressure against the hair growth in the direction of the light. Depending on model, there are various epilation caps available: Massage cap (1a): for best comfort Skin contact cap (1b): for increased efficiency Precision cap (9): for smaller epilation areas, e.g. face Legs: When epilating behind the knee, keep the leg stretched out straight. Sensitive areas: First thoroughly clean and carefully dry sensitive areas to remove residues (like deodorant). When epilating the underarm, keep your arm raised up so that the skin is stretched and guide the appliance in different directions. As skin may be more sensitive after epilation, avoid using irritating substances such as deodorants with alcohol.

Before epilating, clean your skin thoroughly with a disinfecting toner containing alcohol. Stretch the skin with one hand and slowly guide the epilator with your other hand in the direction of the light. Cleaning the epilation head After use, turn off the appliance and clean the epilation head: Remove the cap (1a/b). Brush out the tweezers while turning the tweezer element manually. Take off the epilator head and gently tap it to remove hairs from inside the head. If a thorough clean is needed, you may hold the appliance with the epilation head under hot running water. Then take off the epilation head and shake off remaining water. Make sure it is dry before reattaching. General information on epilation All methods of hair removal from the root can lead to irritation (e.g. itching, discomfort and reddening of the skin) depending on the condition of the skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should quickly disappear, but may be stronger when you are removing hair at the root for the first few times or if you have sensitive skin. In general, skin reactions and the sensation of pain tend to diminish considerably with repeated use. If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows irritation, we recommend that you contact your physician. To minimize the risk of infection or inflammation due to bacteria penetrating the skin when it comes to micro-injuries, thoroughly clean the epilation head and your skin before each use. If you have any doubts about using this appliance, please consult your physician. In the following cases, this appliance should only be used after prior consultation with a physician: eczema, wounds, inflamed skin reactions such as folliculitis (purulent hair follicles) and varicose veins around moles, reduced immunity of the skin, e.g. diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy, Raynaud’s disease, haemophilia, candida or immune deficiency.

The exfoliation brush (13) helps avoid ingrown hair by removing dead skin cells. It also improves epilating results when used 1-2 days before epilation. The deep massage pad (14) helps improve the skin appearance. You may use the exfoliation brush/ deep massage pad on a weekly basis on wet skin during your shower routine with your preferred body scrub or shower gel. The deep massage pad may even be used more frequently with body lotion or massage oil.

When using the appliance in a bathtub, do not immerse it fully in water since this will not provide optimum results.

How to use Attach the brush adapter (12) provided with brush (13) or pad (14). Slowly guide the appliance in a circular motion over your skin to gently refine it. Avoid holding it on the same skin area for prolonged time. Do not use it on your face. Cleaning After use, rinse the brush/pad (13/14) under running water. If needed, you may use some liquid soap for more thorough clean. The silicone cap on the deep massage pad (14) needs to be removed to make sure there is no more water left inside. Before storing the exfoliation brush (13), attach the protective cap. With weekly use, we recommend that you replace the brush/pad after 12 months. Refills (ref. no.79 Spa) are available from your retailer or Braun Service Centres or via www.service.braun.com.

The shaver head (11) is designed for a fast and close shave of legs, underarms and bikini area. Shave on dry skin to obtain best results. For trimming hairs to 3 mm length, attach the trimmer comb (10) and guide it flat over the skin, with the opening against the direction of hair growth. Cleaning Do not clean the shaver foil with the brush as this may damage it. Remove the shaver foil unit (11a) as shown on page 5. Tap it on a flat surface. Clean the shaver head with the brush or under running water. Reassemble in dry condition. Lubricate it regularly (1. foil / 2. trimmers).
