  • This child car seat has been approved for mass group 1 which is suitable for transportation in cars of children from 9 kg up to 18 kg (approximately 4 years old).

  • WARNING: DO NOT use the child car seat in the home. It has not been designed for home use and should only be used in your car.
  • Always make sure that the child car seat harness and vehicle belt are correctly tensioned to ensure maximum protection for your child.
  • The buckle has been designed to be released quickly in an emergency. IT IS NOT CHILD PROOF. More inquisitive children might learn to undo the buckle. Children should be told never to play with it or any other part of the child car seat.
  • If the vehicle seat backrest has a recline function, place the vehicle seat in the most upright position when using the child car seat.

  • Never use the child car seat without its fabric cover because the seat cover constitutes as an integral part of the child car seat performance. The seat cover should not be replaced with any other than the ones recommended by Cosatto.
  • Safely secure any luggage and other objects that might cause injury to the occupant of the child car seat in the event of a crash.
  • After an accident, replace your child car seat and the vehicle seat belts. Although they may look undamaged, they may not protect your child as well as they should.
  • Cosatto advise that child car seats should not be brought or sold second-hand. Many seats sold through local advertising and car-boot sales have been found to be dangerous.
  • Prevent harness/vehicle belt from getting trapped between car doors or rubbing against sharp parts of the seat or body.
  • If the harness/vehicle belts becomes cut or frayed, replace it before travelling.
  • If the vehicle has been left in the sun for a long time, check the seat cover and make sure it is not too hot before placing the child in the child car seat.
  • Security is only guaranteed if the child car seat is fitted in accordance with these instructions.

2 - approved seatbelt requirement

WARNING: Your child car seat can only be installed forward facing

using a three point lap and diagonal belt in the front or rear passenger seats of the vehicle.

3 - adjusting the child car seat angle

This child car seat has three recline positions and the positions are marked by position markings (a) on either side of the seat. To adjust the seat recline angle squeeze the release lever (b) at the front of the seat then move the seat forwards or backwards. Release the handle at the desired position and push until the seat is locked into position.

4 - seating your child into the car seat harness

Loosen the harness by pushing the adjuster button (a) in as you pull the harness straps (b) forward as much as possible. IMPORTANT: Pull the harness UNDER the chest pads. DO NOT pull on the chest pads. Unfasten the harness buckle by pressing the red button (c) and releasing the clips (d) and open out the belts (e). Place your child in the child car seat. Fit the harness around your child and fasten the harness buckle by joining the clips (f) and pushing them both into the buckle (g). The harness must fit level with the top of your child’s shoulders. It must not fit above or below the shoulder line. (Refer to step 6).

5 - seating your child into the car seat harness

Check that the harness is not twisted. Pull the harness up (a) to tighten the lap sections which is designed to fit low down on your child’s body. Pull the adjuster strap forward (b) making sure the harness is a comfortable but FIRM fit around your child. Finally, pull both chest pads down (c) from your child’s shoulders onto their chest. NOTE: The chest pads are an important safety feature. Never use the child car seat without them.

6 - adjusting the harness - 1

Recline the car seat to its most reclined position (position 3) to gain access to harness connector. (See step 3). Remove the upper seat liner (b). Loosen the harness by pushing the adjuster button (c) in as you pull the harness straps forward as much as possible (d). Important: Pull the harness UNDER the chest pads. DO NOT pull on the chest pads. Pull out the harness connector (e) from between the child car seat back and seat base. Slide the harness straps off the harness connector (f). Pull the harness straps through the child seat back and out of the chest pads (g). Unclip the chest pad strap from the connector (h) behind the seat back, then pull the chest pads out of the seat back (i).

7 - adjusting the harness - 2

Refitting the harness: Push the chest pad straps through the seat back (a) and fasten the connector behind the seat back (b). Push the harness straps through the chest pads and seat back (c) and refit the ends to the harness connector (d) making sure the strap ends are correctly fitted and not twisted (e). Fit the upper seat liner (f). Pull the harness strap at (g) to tension the harness.

Place the child car seat on the vehicle seat. Incline the seat to position 3 (a) (See Step 3). Push the vehicle seat belt through the gap in the seat as shown (b).

Fasten the vehicle seat belt (a). The straps should fit over the lower seat belt guide (b) and below the lip above the lower seat belt guide (c). Pull back on the diagonal belt to tension the waist belt (d).

10 - installation of the car seat (forward facing) - 3

Place the diagonal vehicle belt through the vehicle belt hook (a) and into the upper belt guide (b). Pull back on the diagonal belt to tension the vehicle seat belt (c). Check the vehicle seat belt is not twisted. Check the child car seat is securely fitted by lifting it slightly. Tighten the vehicle seat belt if required. IMPORTANT: The position of the seat belt/lap strap buckle can affect the stability of the child car seat. In an accident this could stop the child car seat from protecting your child as well as it should. If, when the seat belt/lap strap belt is properly tightened, the buckle lies in the position marked then try fitting the child car seat in another seating position in your vehicle. IMPORTANT: Each time you adjust the child car seat, check that it is still secure, the back rest of the child car seat rests on the vehicles seat and that the seat belt is tight. If there is any slack in the vehicle seat belt then retighten it before starting your journey.

11 - removing the harness, seat liners and seat cover - 1

Remove the upper and lower seat liners. Unfasten the harness straps and remove the shoulder straps and chest pads (See Step 6). Unfasten the harness buckle. Remove the clips from the end of the harness straps (a). Locate the crotch strap clip under the seat. Push the clip through the seat (b & c). NOTE: The adjuster strap is not intended to be removable.

Starting on one side carefully pull the cover off from around the seat (a), the adjuster button and strap (b). Pull the cover off the harness straps (c). Once the cover is removed feed the harness straps through the slots in the seat base (d & e).

13 - refitting the harness, seat liners and seat cover

Feed the harness straps through the slots in the seat base as shown (a & b) until the length of each end of the harness strap protruding through the seat is equal. Ensure the straps are not twisted. NOTE: The folded over end of the strap MUST be facing upwards as shown (c). Feed the harness straps through the slots in the seat cover (d). Fit the seat cover over the adjuster strap and adjuster (e). Refit the cover by carefully stretching the material over the edge of the seat (f). Ensure the support plates on the side of the seat cover fit into the channels in the seat base (g). Refit the remaining parts of the harness (A reversal of the procedure in Step 11). Ensure the straps are not twisted before use. Refit the seat liners. care Your child car seat has been designed to meet safety standards and with correct use and maintenance will give many years of trouble free performance. Storing a damp child car seat will encourage mildew to form. After exposure to damp conditions, dry off with a soft cloth and allow to dry thoroughly before storing. Store your child car seat in a dry, safe place. Leaving the child car seat in sunlight for prolonged periods may cause fabrics to fade. maintenance Inspect the child car seat regularly for signs of damage- stop using the product if any of the component have become damaged. When fitted to vehicle seat, check the fitting child car seat regularly to ensure the fitting is in good tension and the vehicle belt & harness are not objected nor twisted. DO NOT take apart, or attempt to take apart, any of the harness when cleaning the harness and seat. It is unnecessary and dangerous to do so. Food and drink may find their way inside the buckle of the harness. This can stop it working properly. cleaning Clean the harness buckle with mild hand soap and water. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Latch and unlatch the tongues of the buckle several times until a strong click is heard. If you cannot hear a strong click run it under warm water to rinse again. If the harness/ vehicle belts becomes cut or frayed, replace it before travelling. Plastic and metal parts may be sponged clean with warm water and a mild detergent. Never clean with abrasive, ammonia based, bleach based or spirit type cleaners.
