IMPORTANT ADVICE

  • Read these instructions carefully. Safeguard them for future reference.
  • Before plugging the appliance into the mains supply, make sure that the voltage corresponds to that stated on the characteristics plate.
  • This appliance has been designed for domestic use only. It must only be used in accordance with these instructions. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any damage caused by improper or misuse of the appliance
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner on people or animals.
  • Never vacuum up hot or glowing substances, sharp objects, wet or liquid substances, or inflammable or explosive products.
  • Do not let children handle the appliance.
  • This vacuum cleaner must not be used without the paper dust bag, the Cycle

Tech unit or the motor protection filter. This could damage the appliance.

  • The appliance should be in the off position before plugging it in or unplugging it.
  • Do not operate the appliance with the cable still coiled.
  • Do not unplug the appliance by tugging on the cable.
  • Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the mains supply when not in use and before proceeding to clean it or when changing the bags or filters.
  • Do not expose the vacuum cleaner to outdoor weather conditions, dampness or heat. Do not leave the vacuum beside hot ovens, heaters or radiators.
  • Do not use the vacuum if any of its openings are obstructed, given that this will reduce the air flow causing it to overheat, which may damage the appliance.
  • Do not handle either the vacuum or the plug with wet hands. Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Do not pull on either the cable or the suction tube to carry the vacuum. Use the carry handle.
  • Do not use the appliance if either the cable or plug are damaged.
  • When closing a door, make sure that it does not trap the cable.
  • Unplug the vacuum cleaner after use and especially when cleaning it, changing the bag or filter or emptying out the dust container.
  • Do not switch the appliance on if the cable or plug are damaged or if it can be detected that the appliance is not working correctly.
  • Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre.
  • Attention: Do not use the vacuum cleaner to suck up building waste (cement, brick dust, rubble, sawdust, etc.).
  • These types of particles quickly clog up the pores in the dust bag causing the appliance to overheat.

DUAL SUCTION SYSTEM

This appliance operates without a dust bag by using "Cycle-Tech" technology. To do

this just fit the unit on. This system allows you to clean your home efficiently without having to purchase replacement dust bags. The high performance filtering system, which includes a HEPA H12 class anti allergy filter, guarantees perfect cleaning.

In cases which require additional filtering (very fine dust, homes with allergy sufferers, etc.) the vacuum can be used with the MEGAfilt SuperTEX bag fitted. This type of bag is capable of retaining 98% of all particles. Its exceptional filtering capacity reduces the task for the HEPA filter and extends its useful life. Added to which, it has been treated with an antibacterial agent to stop microorganisms from breeding inside the bag.

How to use the Cycle-Tech unit

Open the lid on the general compartment (fig. 1). Slot the unit into its housing (fig. 2). For best results, select maximum power when vacuuming with the Cycle-Tech unit. Reduce the power setting when vacuuming delicate surfaces.

How to use the MEGAfilt bag

Take the Cycle-Tech unit off (fig. 3) and insert the bag into the slot on the filter holder (fig. 4).

This appliance is very powerful. Use of maximum power is only advisable when vacuuming heavily soiled short pile carpets or on hardwearing floor surfaces. Half-power should be sufficient for daily cleaning purposes.

ATTENTION: The bag full indicator only works accurately in conjunction with the dust bag.

SWITCHING ON

  • Insert the hose into the suction hole so that it clicks into position..

Pressing the two side clips in will help you to insert or remove the hose (fig. 5).

  • Attach the telescopic tube to the suction hose and adjust the length to suit the user (fig. 6).
  • Fit the brush, or whichever accessory is required, to the vacuum tube (fig. 7).
  • Pull the cable out and plug it into the mains supply.
  • Press the On/Off button (fig. 8).

  • Select the power setting (fig. 9).

  • The wheels, the 360^ swivel joint and the carrying handle, along with its compactness, make this vacuum cleaner extremely mobile.
  • During pauses in vacuuming you can clip the tube onto the vacuum as shown in figure 10.

WHEN FINISHED

When you have finished using the appliance press the On/Off pedal. Unplug it from the electric socket.

To rewind the cable give it a gentle tug and then release it. The cable reel system will wind it back in automatically (fig. 11).

The vertical parking position makes it easier to store away (fig. 12).

MAINTAINING THE CYCLE-TECH UNIT

Empting the container

The container should be emptied after each use. To do this open the lid on the general compartment (fig. 1) and remove the container (fig. 3).

To open the base of the container pull the holding clip gently and let the dirt fall directly into the rubbish bin (fig. 13).

To re-close it, first slot the two rear clips into position, swing the lid forward and press it upward, it will click to indicate that the holding clip is in place (fig. 14)

Place the container back into the general compartment and lift the handle up. The lid on the general compartment will not close unless the container is fitted correctly.

Cleaning the filters

It is advisable to clean both the permanent filter and the micro-filter, located on the bottom of the Cycle-Tech unit, at least once every six months. This will also be necessary should the suction become blocked.

To remove the filters press the two holding clips on the filter holder in the direction of the arrow (fig. 15). Hand wash both the permanent filter and the micro-filter (fig. 16) in a mild detergent. IMPORTANT: Leave them to dry for 24 hours before refitting them.

Removing obstructions

In the event that the Cycle-Tech unit becomes blocked, release the two holding catches, take the lid off the container and remove whatever caused the blockage (fig. 17).

Put the lid back on the container and press it in the direction of the arrow until you hear the two catches click back into position (fig. 18). Do not forget to clean the permanent filter and micro-filter (figs. 15 and 16)

FITTING & REPLACING THE DUST BAG

When the suction decreases considerably and the bag full indicator in the lid is completely yellow, this indicates that the bag is full. To change it, open the general compartment (fig. 1) pull the hygienic seal back to stop any dust from escaping (fig. 19) and take the bag out of the filter holder. Fit a new dust bag (fig. 4).

IMPORTANT

  • The lid of the vacuum cleaner will not close unless either a bag or the Cycle-Tech unit is fitted. Do not force it shut, check that the bag is fitted correctly.
  • If after having changed the bag the suction is still irregular and the bag full indicator stays yellow, check that there is no blockage in the suction hose, tube or air intake.
  • Never use the vacuum cleaner without a bag or try to empty a full bag and then reuse it.

  • To guarantee trouble free operation only use original Ufesa bags which can be found at authorised establishments. Replacement bag reference: FA0130.

REPLACING THE MOTOR PROTECTION FILTER

This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a HEPA H12 filter. This filter must be replaced each year. To do this, just pull the used filter out of it housing (fig. 20) and slide a new filter back into the slot. Make sure that the word "TOP" on the filter is at the top. Replacement HEPA filter reference: FA0500.

IMPORTANT: The vacuum cleaner must never be switched on unless this filter is fitted correctly.

CLEANING

Unplug the vacuum from the mains supply before cleaning it. The accessories and the vacuum can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and then left to dry before reusing them. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use solvents or abrasive products to clean it.

ADVICE ON DISPOSAL

Our goods are shipped in optimised packaging. This basically consists in using non-contaminating materials which should be handed over to the local waste disposal service as secondary raw materials. Your local town council can give you information about how to dispose of obsolete appliances.
