The ménufacturer will not be held responsible for any damage caused by improper or misuse ofthe appliance + Do not use the vacuum cleaner on people or animals + Never vacuum up hot or glowing substances, sharp objects, wet or liquid substances, or inflammable or explosive products. + Donotletchildrenhandle the appliance. + This vacuum cleaner must not be used without the paper dust bag, the Cycle Tech unit or the motor protection filter. This could damage the appliance + The appliance should be in the off position before plugging it in or unplugging it. + Do not operate the appliance with the cable still coiled. + Donotunplugthe appliance by tugging on the cable. + Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the mains supply when not in use and before proceeding to clean it or when changing the bags or filters + Do not expose the vacuum cleaner to outdoor weather conditions, dampness or heat. Do not leave the vacuum beside hot ovens, heaters or radiators. + Do not use the vacuum if any of its openings are obstructed, given that this Will reduce the air flow causing it to overheat, which may damage the appliance. + Donothandle eitherthe vacuum orthe plug with wvet hands. Do not immerse the appliance in water. + Do not pull on either the cable or the suction tube to cary the vacuum. Use the cary handle. + Donot use the appliance ifeitherthe ca- ble or plug are damaged: «When closing a door, make sure that it does not trap the cable. « Unplug the vacuum cleaner after use andespecially when cleaning it, changing the bag or filter or emptying out the dust container. + Donotswitchthe appliance on ifthe ca- ble or plug are damaged or if it can be detected thatthe appliance is not working correctly. + Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre. + Attention: Do not use the vacuum cleaner to suck up building waste (cement, brick dust, rubble, sawdust, etc.). « These types of particles quickly clog up the pores in the dust bag causing the appliance to overheat.
This appliance operates without a dust bag by using “Cycle-Tech” technology. To do
this just fit the unit on. This system allows you to clean your home efficientiy without having to purchase replacement dust bags. The high performance filtering system, which includes à HEPA H12 class anti allergy fier, guarantees perfect cleaning. In cases which require additional filtering (very fine dust, homes with allergy sufferers, etc.) the vacuum can be used With the MEGAfilt SuperTEX bag fitted. This type of bag is capable of retaining 98% of all particles. is exceptionalfiltering capacity reduces the task for the HEPA filter and'extendé its useful life. Added to which, it has been treated with an antibacterial agent to stop micro- organisms from breeding inside the bag. How to use the Cyde-Tech unit Open the lid'on the general compartment fig. 1). Slotthe unit into its housing (fig. 2). For best results, select maximum power when vacuuming With the Cycle-Techunit. Reduce the power setting when vacuuming delicate surfaces. How to use the MEGAfilt bag Take the Cycle-Tech unit off (fig. 3) and insertthe bag into the slot on the filter hol- der (fig. 4) This appliance is very powerful. Use of maximum power is only advisable when vacuuming heavily soiled short pile carpets or on hardwearing floor surfaces. Half-power should be sufficient for daily cleaning purposes. ATTENTION: The bag full indicator only works accurately in conjunction with the dust bag SWITCHING ON + Insert the hose into the suction hole so thatit clicks into position Pressing the two side clips in will help you to insert or remove the hose (fig. 5) + Attach the telescopic tube to the suction hose and adijust the length to suit the user (fig. 6). + Fitthe brush, or whichever accessory is required, to the vacuum tube (fig. 7). + Pull the cable out and plug it into the mains supply. + Press the On/Off button (fig. 8). + Selectthe power setting (fig. 9). + The wheels, the 360° swivel joint and the carrying handle, along with its compactness, make this vacuum cleaner extremely mobile. + During pauses in vacuuming you can clip the tube onto the vacuum as shown in figure 10. WHEN FINISHED When you have finished using the appliance press the On/Off pedal. Unplug it from the electric socket To rewind the cable give it a gentle tug and then release it. The cable reel system WillWind it back in automatically (fig. 11). The vertical parking position makes it essier to store away (fig. 19)
MAINTAINING THE CYCLE-TECH
UNIT Empting the container The container should be emptied after each use. To do this open the lid on the general compartment (fig. 1) and remove the container (fig. 3) To open the base ofthe container pullthe holding clip gently and let the dirt fall directly into the rubbish bin (fig. 13). To re-close it, fist slot the two rear clips into position, swing the lid forward and press it upward, itWil clickto indicate that the holding clip is in place (fig. 14) Place the container back into the general compartmentand liftthe handle up. The lid onthe general compartment will not close unless the container is fitted comectiy. Cleaning the filters Itis advisable to clean boththe permanent filter and the micro-filter, located on the bottom of the Cycle-Tech unit, at least once every six months, This will also be necessary should the suction become blocked To remove the filters press the two holding clips on the filter holder in the direction of the arrow (fig. 15). Hand wash both the permanent filter and the micro-filter (fig:
16) in à mild detergent. IMPORTANT
Leave them to dry for 24 hours before refitting them.
Removing obstruction In the event that the Cycle-Tech unit becomes blocked, release the two hol- ding catches, take the lid offthe container and remove whatever caused the blockage (fig. 17) Putthe lid'backonthe container and press it in the direction of the arrow until you hear the two catches click back into position (fig. 18). Do not forget to clean the permanent filter and micro-filter (gs. 15 and 16)
FITTING & REPLACING THE DUST
BAG When the suction decreases considerably and the bag full indicator in the lid is completely yellow, this indicates that the bag is full. To change it, open the general compartment (fig. 1)pullthe hygienic seal back to stop any dust from escaping (fig.
19) and take the bag out of the filter hol-
der. Fit a new dust bag (fig. 4) IMPORTANT + The lid of the vacuum cleaner will not close unless either a bag orthe Cycle-Tech unit is fitted. Do not force it shut, check thatthe bag is fited correctiy. + If after having changed the bag the suction is still irregular and the bag full indicator stays vellow, check that there is no blockage in the suction hose, tube or air intake. + Never use the vacuum cleaner without à bag or try to empty à full bag and then reuse it. + To guarantee trouble free operation only use original Ufesa bags which can be found ât authorised establishments Replacement bag reference: FA0130.
PROTECTION FILTER This vacuum cleaner is equipped with à HEPA H19 filter. This filter must be replaced each year. To do this, just pull the used filter outofithousing (fig. 20)and slide a new filter back into the slot. Make sure that the word “TOP” on the filter is at the top. Replacement HEPA filter reference: FA0500 IMPORTANT: The vacuum cleaner must never be switched on unless this filter is fitted corectiy. CLEANING Unplug the vacuum from the mains supply before cleaningit. The accessories andthe vacuum can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and then left to dry before reusing them. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use soivents or abrasive products to clean it.
