How do I install the PU011 card in my computer?

Turn off the computer and unplug all cables. Open the case, locate a free PCIe slot and remove the metal bracket. Insert the card avoiding contact with connectors. Close the case and reconnect everything.

Drivers do not install automatically, what should I do?

Insert the Sweex CD-ROM. If automatic installation fails, in the 'Found New Hardware' wizard, choose 'Install from a list or specific location' and browse the CD to select the driver folder.

Windows displays an unsigned driver warning, is it dangerous?

No, it's normal. Sweex drivers are tested. Click 'Continue Anyway' or 'Install this driver anyway' depending on your Windows version.

How do I configure the LPT port number (LPT1, LPT2, etc.)?

Go to Device Manager, expand 'Ports (COM & LPT)', right-click 'Sweex 1 Port Parallel PCIe Card' and select Properties. Under the 'Port Settings' tab, you can change the LPT port number.

Can I use the PU011 card with hardware protection keys (dongles)?

This product is not suitable for all hardware key dongles. Check compatibility with the dongle manufacturer.

What to do if my computer does not detect the card?

Make sure the card is properly inserted into the PCIe slot. Verify that the slot is functional. Restart your computer. If the problem persists, try another PCIe slot.

Is the PU011 card compatible with Windows 10 or 11?

The official manual only mentions Windows 2000, XP and Vista. Drivers may not work on newer systems. Check the Sweex website for possible updates.

What maintenance precautions are recommended?

Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity and excessive dust. Clean the card with a dry cloth. Protect it from strong impacts.

What is the warranty period for the PU011 card?

PU011 Sweex 1 Port Parallel PCI Express Card

• Do not expose the PU011 to extreme temperatures. Do not place the device in direct sun light or close to heating elements.
• Do not use the PU011 in extremely dusty or moist environments.
• Prevent hard shocks or impacts of the device, as this can cause damage to the internal electronics.

Hardware Installation

1. Make sure the computer is turned off and that there is no power connected.
2. Also remove the printer and monitor cable, because these have their own power supply.
3. Now unscrew the computer casing.
4. Make sure that you undo yourself of possible static electricity. This can be done by grabbing a (naked) central heating pipe or an unpainted water pipe. Pay attention not to use a magnetic screwdriver. Briefly touch the iron frame of the PC casing. Avoid direct contact with the contact points of the PCIe slot and contact points on the graphics card.
5. Locate a free PCIe slot and remove the metal protection plate that is in the computer casing for the intended slot. Consult the manual of your computer to find the PCIe slot.
6. When possible fasten the card with screws so it can not move.
7. When the card is mounted successfully, check if the other cards are still fitted properly in their expansion slot. It can happen that when a new card is added the other cards rise a little with as result that the card, or even the entire computer, may not work.
8. Close the computer casing and reconnect all cables properly.
9. Turn on the computer.

Place the Sweex CD-ROM in the CD-ROM player. When the CD-ROM already was in the player, open the tray and close it again. Windows will automatically install the drivers.

It is possible that Windows will notify you that the driver is not certified. This is not a problem for correct functioning of the card. All Sweex products and relevant drivers are tested thoroughly. Choose the option "Continue Anyway".

Port settings Parallel

The settings of the LPT port can be viewed and adjusted as follows:

Go to START -> settings -> control panel

In this window open "System". Go to the tab "Hardware" -> "device manager".

In the device manager open the "Ports (COM & LPT)" list and select: Sweex 1 Port Parallel PCIe Card

Open the settings by right clicking it.

The following screen appears:

Select the "Port settings" tab.

Here you can view or change your LPT port. Be aware that you do not choose a port that is already being used by the computer. This can result in a conflict.

This product is not suitable for all hardware key dongles.
