Important detail of the Leica ULT 500: Switching lever for assistant output - side or rear
More light
The new Leica Ultra Observer Module offers perfect light management of the observation beam paths without loss of light.
The unique integration of the assistant ports provides light only to the definitive users and leads to a visible increase of brightness as compared to conventional solutions. The new optical design allows for the best possible and flexible adaptation of the mono observers – as well as the video option for all aspects in cranial and spinal surgery.
Flexible
Ease of operation supports the functional availability in all situations – an important plus for the outstanding image quality of the Leica M520 series.
Modular
The advantages of the Leica Ultra Observer can naturally be transferred to existing Leica microscopes with Leica M500 N and Leica M520 optics carriers: MC1, MS1, MS2, MS3, OHS1 and OH3.

Short design
The ergonomics of the Leica ULT 500 results from the 45^ tube adaptation and choices for different Leica tubes.
The result - a shorter height from eyepieces to operative site - supports every surgery situation, even special ones such as posterior fossa.
Easy and relaxed
Built-in rotatable 30^ binocular adapters allow the surgeon and assistant to reorient their binoculars when the optical head is tilted in acute side to side positions.
The feather-light touch of the Leica M520 optics carrier in combination with the Leica Ultra Observer is ensured by a complete balancing.

Short observation distances because of extra low design
