Frequently Asked Questions - HU1050 SOLAC

What to do if no vapor comes out?
Check that the water tank is full and the appliance is on a flat surface. If the problem persists, clean the transducer with the provided brush and ensure the vapor flow is not set too low.
Why won't the humidifier turn on?
Make sure the appliance is properly plugged in and the outlet works (check the fuses). If power is present but the appliance does not turn on, contact the authorized technical service.
How to clean the transducer?
Moisten a cotton swab with vinegar and gently rub the transducer until limescale deposits are removed. Then wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use hard tools or chemicals.

3 OPERATION AND USE

1 Separate the water tank (1) from the base, turn it over and remove the cap from the bottom, turning it anticlockwise. Fig.1. Fill with cold water; do not fill completely.
2 Replace the plug, aligning the notches on the tank with the grooves on the cap, and turn it clockwise. Make sure it is well closed.
3 Turn the tank over and place it on its base making sure it fits perfectly.
4 When placing the water tank (1) back on the base, a part of the water it contains enters the space between the tank and the body (10); this is part of the normal operation of the appliance and does not entail any risk.

5 Plug the adapter into the mains socket. Use the on / off switch (5) to select the desired flow of mist. Fig. 2. The humidifier starts working and the pilot light (4) comes on.
6 When you want to deactivate the mist function, use the on/off switch (5) and return it to the original position.

The humidifier has a safety system that disconnects the transducer (9) before running dry, thanks to its water level float (8).

The ioniser function can be selected on its own or simultaneously with the emission of mist. It causes the appliance to emit negative oxygen ions, providing healthier, fresher air in the room. If the mist function is not required, the product can still be used as an air purifier.

- To use the ioniser function, press the on / off switch (3) Fig. 3. The pilot light (7) remains on while the ioniser function is active. To deactivate this function, press the selector again (3) and the pilot light (7) goes out.

4 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

▲ Before any cleaning operation, switch the appliance off and unplug it.

1 There may be some scale deposits in the transducer, particularly in areas with hard water. Overcome this drawback by cleaning the transducer with vinegar at least once a week, as follows:

a) Moisten a cotton bud with vinegar and wipe the transducer gently, until the scale deposits disappear completely.
b) Rub down with a dry cloth and remove remains of moisture.
c) Do not rub the transducer with solid objects.
d) Do not clean with chemical products.

2 Clean the inside of the water tank at least once a week, as follows:

a) Fill the tank with clean water adding a few drops of bleach or a similar disinfectant. Close the tank completely with its cap and shake forcibly.
b) Rinse thoroughly.

Note: Water accumulated over long periods may create bacteria and mildew (fungus).

3 The outside of the appliance can be cleaned using a soft damp cloth.
4 Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
5 With each change of water the included brush (11) should be used to remove dust and any scale remains on the transducer.
6 Do not place the transducer directly under the tap.

6 OBSERVATIONS

Humidifiers using ultrasound technology produce smaller water particles which can more easily reach the lower respiratory tracts.

This type of humidifier is therefore suitable for the treatment of symptoms of the common cold and laryngitis.

Their use is not however recommended for persons with bronchial asthma and allergies.
- Domestic humidifiers are ideal for obtaining a comfortable humidity environment between 40% and 60%, the range in which the risk of respiratory infection is minimised.
