1 IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
With the use of electrical devices general safety precautions must be taken to reduce the risk of an electrical shock, ignition of fire or other endangerments. Read therefore the following safety and operating instructions carefully and attentively. Keep this document for later rereading carefully. If you pass the equipment on to other persons, you must pass on also this document to ensure a safe use of the equipment. Safety instructions 1 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and supervise them to ensure that they are not playing with the appliance. 2 The appliance must NOT be used by helpless persons or persons insensitive to heat or infants. Never use the appliance under the influence of alcohol, calmatives, sedatives or sleeping pills. This appliance must not be used by infants except if the completeness and integrity of the appliances has been checked by a competent person and all adjustments with the controlling unit are set by a competent person. Children can use this appliance when they have been intensively briefed how to use the appliance what to do in case of feeling unwell or having pain. However, a custodian should always be close-by. Long time use at highest temperature setting can cause burns. Also a long time use at low temperature settings can cause burns to heat insensitive persons. 3 This appliance must not be used by persons suffering from incontinence. Except precautions are met to avoid that liquid can ingress into the appliance. See also warning notice no. 12. 4 For indoor use only. Never use the heating pad outdoors or in wetrooms. Avoid using the heating pad close-by bath or shower tubs, pools or similar open water sources. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Take care that the heating pad is not subject to sharp bending and that no kinks are caused. Kinks or tucks must NOT be removed by ironing. 6 Never insert needles or pointed objects into the appliance. Attention! Risk of electric shock. 7 When using the heating pad the supply cord must not be rolled-up and must not be led across the heating pad. 8 Before the heating pad is taken for storing it must be disconnected from the mains and must be cooled down completely. 9 Avoid sharp bending and kinks due to wrong storing. This can be caused when heavy subjects are placed on the (folded) heating pad. 10 Store out of the reach of children. 11 Attention! Danger of overheating! Never cover the heating pad with plastic bags, slip covers or similar. 12 Never use the heating pad when it is wet or moisture. Attention! Risk of electric shock! 13 The heating pad must not be used for livestock breeding. 14 Never use the heating pad when it is in folded or rucked condition. 15 Never use the heating pad with an adjustable bed. 16 The heating pad is not suitable for use in hospitals. 17 The heating pad is not suitable for use in extreme humid areas, such as tropical countries. 18 Before each use check the appliance for any damage which could impair the safety of the appliance. If the appliance has been subject to an excessive strain (e.g. it was falling on the floor) damages might not be visible from the outside. In this case don’t use the appliance and send it for a safety check to an Authorised after sales service. 19 When the supply cord is damaged it must in order to avoid dangers only be replaced from the manufacturer, his service agency or a similar qualified company. 20 For disconnecting from mains, never pull the supply cord. Always grip the mains plug. 21 When the appliance is not in use ensure that the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the mains. 22 This appliance is designated for household use only. Never use the appliance for any other purpose than described in this document.

Cut the supply cord or bring it to a professional electrician for disabling. The appliance may cause injuries when discovered by children which might use it for playing. 25 Always follow the instruction in the chapter Cleaning and maintenance in order to avoid dangers due to inappropriate treating. 26 Electrodomesticos Solac S.A. does not assume any liability for injuries of persons or animals or damages to any goods which are the result of non-observance of the safety and user instructions of this document and the instructions shown at the appliance rating labels.
Caution! When you wish to dispose of the appliance, NEVER throw it in the rubbish. Instead, take it to your nearest clean point or waste collection point, where it will receive subsequent treatment. You will thus be helping to take care of the environment.
2 BEFORE FIRST USE
1 Remove all the paper and plastic bags, plastic sheets, cards and possible stickers that may be on the inside or outside of the appliance for handling protection or sales promotion material. 2 Splay the heating pad completely on a flat and clean surface and check all parts for possible damage. ‹ Make sure that the voltage shown on the specifications plate is the same as the mains power supply at your home. Never connect it to a DC power supply. 3 MAIN COMPONENTS
Cover Heating pad Power cord Control Temperature selector CT8633_37.book Page 14 Friday, May 29, 2009 12:25 PM 4 OPERATION 1 Plug the power cord (3) into the mains. 2 The pillow has 4 temperature positions: Use the temperature selector (5) to select the desired position remembering that position 1 is for the minimum temperature and position 4 is for the maximum temperature. Every press of the selector switches from one position to another and the pilot light shows the selected position. 3 To switch off the pillow, simply unplug it from the mains. Z Let the pillow cool down completely before putting it away or cleaning it. 4 As a safety feature, the pillow will stop working after 120 minutes of continuous operation. If you want to continue using it after this time you will have to re-select the temperature position you want.
5 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Always make sure the appliance is unplugged before starting.
- WARNING: Never wash or dry clean the pillow. The only washable part is the removable cover.
- The removable cover can be washed by hand or machine in lukewarm water (50º C) having previously removed the pillow.
- After washing the cover, make sure it is completely dry before using it again.
- Storage: Keep this product in a dry place; avoid folding it and placing any heavy objects on it that could cause permanent creases.
