SOMMAIRE

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the device. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by unsupervised children.

• The appliance must be powered at a low safety voltage as stated on the marking.

• Ensure that the mains voltage matches the voltage specified on the device rating label and that the plug is earthed.

• This device is designed for domestic use only and is not intended for bars, restaurants, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and offices.

• WARNING: to recharge the battery, use only the removable power supply unit provided with the device, with reference ZDJ045100EU.
• For hygienic reasons, do not share this appliance with other people.
• Do not immerse the cable, plug, or any other non-removable part of the device in water or any other liquid or expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the device.
• WARNING: keep the appliance dry.
• When switched on, the appliance must never come in contact with the hair on your your head or eyelashes to prevent any injury hazard as well as to prevent blockage or damage to the appliance.
• Do not exchange or manipulate any part of it. Otherwise there is risk of electric shock.
• People with reduced immunological response or that suffer from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency must consult their doctor before using the device.
• Use the device only for hair removal and following the instructions in this manual.
• Do not remove hair from areas with open

wounds, cuts, burns, warts, moles, sun burnt skin or varicose veins.

• Do not use the appliance if you are suffering from a skin irritation or infection, like psoriasis or eczema.
• Do not use the appliance for removing hair from your face, head, chest, eyebrows, or eyelashes.
• The appliance has batteries that cannot be replaced.

Battery instructions

• The appliance includes a Li-ion battery. Do not incinerate or expose it to high temperatures, as it may explode.
• The battery may leak under extreme conditions. Do not touch any liquid that leaks from the battery. If the liquid gets into contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, wash them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention. Wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of it immediately in accordance with local regulations.

- Before a new battery is used or the battery is used for the first time after long-term storage, fully charge the battery.

- When the device is stored and not used for long

periods of time, ensure that the battery pack is fully charged.

• Battery ingestion can cause burns, soft tissue perforation, and death. It can cause severe burns within two hours of the ingestion.
• In case of battery ingestion, please seek medical help immediately.

2. BEFORE USE

• This device is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the device out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the device when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Connect the cord to the power supply and then to the device, and fully charge the device before the first use.

Tips

Exfoliate the skin before hair removal. Done regularly, it:

- prevents hair from growing back under the skin.

• removes dead cells and softens the texture of your skin.
• prepares your skin to help it absorb skin care products.
• Exfoliating once or twice a week maintains a healthy and fresh skin.

It is suggested to exfoliate skin ideally the day before hair removal.

The exfoliation will straighten the hair thereby helping you to remove it.

Warning

Avoid exfoliating just after hair removal.

3. OPERATION

Hair removal

• The electric epilator includes 18 tweezers that remove hair. For perfect efficiency, it is recommended to use it on fairly short hair (2-5 mm).
• Before removing hair, take a warm shower. Warmth will help your pores dilate and will make hair removal easier.
• To remove hair successfully, look closely at the direction in which hair grows in the area where hair is to be removed. Move the electric epilator in the opposite direction to that of the hair growth.

Note

If the device is moved in the same direction as the hair growth, hair could be simply cut or improperly pulled, causing it to grow back under the skin.

Warning

All methods of hair removal at the root can lead to ingrown hair and irritation (e.g. itching, discomfort and reddening of the skin) depending on the condition of the skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should quickly disappear, but may be stronger when you are removing hair at the root for the first few times or if you have sensitive skin.

How to use the electric epilator

1. Remove the protection cover.

2. Turn the device on and select the speed:
   I: Fine hair
   II: Coarse hair

3. Hold the appliance at an angle of 90° to the surface where hair is to be removed. Fig. 2

4. Slide the epilator on the skin in the opposite direction of the growth of the hair.

5. When you have finished using the device, switch it off.

Arms and legs

• Always work with both hands. Carefully stretch the skin with one hand while moving the appliance with the other.
• Only move your hair remover against the direction of the growth of your hair. Do not use circular or back-and-forth motions.
• Slowly move the electric epilator, while pressing down lightly. Do not press the appliance down too hard against your skin; it might slow down and be less effective.

Underarms and bikini line

Recommendation:

This zone is especially sensible, therefore it is recommended to use speed I.

• If hair is long (longer than 1 cm), it is suggested to cut it before using the device, preferably at speed l.
• Before operating the device in this area, clean it thoroughly to remove any residue, like deodorant. Then, dry it with a towel.
• Stretch the skin and move the appliance using an upwards motion.
• After hair removal, use a moisturising milk to soften skin. Apply the product and massage it in circular motions to help the skin absorb it.

Overload protection

The electric epilator includes a protection system that will turn it automatically off to prevent risk of damage or danger.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Turn off and disconnect the device from the mains supply before cleaning, servicing it, or assembling or disassembling any of its parts.
• Do not use compressed air, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads to clean the device.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.
• Pull out the head cover with your hand, as shown in figure 3. Press both release buttons on the sides and pull the epilation head out with the other hand.
• Use the cleaning brush dipped into alcohol to clean the tweezers. Clean the tweezers with the brush from the rear side of the epilation head while turning the barrel manually. Fig. 3
• It is recommended to regularly disinfect the heads with alcohol.
• After cleaning it, place the epilation head back on the appliance. Press it until it clicks into place, and check that the release buttons are back to their original position. Place the head protective cover.
• Use a soft damp cloth with some water to clean the product surface.
• Thoroughly dry the appliance after cleaning it.
