* Important safety directions
Always take care that the Fondue Deep-frying pan is not placed close to warm surfaces, such as an electric oven, cooking plate, or gas oven. Place the appliance on a dry and flat surface. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids, not even when cleaning. Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling the cable. Put away the Fondue Deep-frying pan only after it has completely cooled down. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use. Always take care that the mains cable is not stuck between drawers or behind cabinets, and keep it away from warm surfaces, such as an electric oven, cooking plate, or gas oven. Keep the appliance at a safe place, away from children, and do not let children use it without the supervision of adults. The use of hot oil involves a large burning risk. Never use the Fondue Deep-frying pan near gas, because of the risk of fire. Do not use
the appliance for purposes other than described in the operation manual. Pull the plug out of the socket, when you want to clean the appliance, when it is not in use, or when you suspect a defect to the appliance. Never cover the appliance during use, otherwise the vapours cannot escape through the filter. Change the filter after 20 - 30 times of use, or when you notice that the filter does not work effectively anymore, Always watch out that the oil bath is filled between the minimum and maximum level. If not, the oil may sputter, or run over. Change the oil regularly, because water collects in the oil during use, thereby increasing the risk of oil splashing out. When the appliance or the cable shows a defect, stop using the appliance. Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified technician, using special tools. Do not move the appliance if the oil is still hot. Never overfill the basket (this especially holds for frozen foods), because then there will be sputter danger of hot oil. When the appliance is in operation, do not hold it or keep your hands above it.
WARNING!
Never extinguish any occurring flames with water. if a fire should arise, cover the appliance with a piece of cloth, to extinguish the flames. It is important to switch off the voltage!!
Before first use
Remove all stickers and packages (foil) from the appliance and accessories. Clean the inside of the Fondue Deep-frying pan (including the inside of the lid) and the basket, remove possible dirt and dry thoroughly. Place the appliance on a flat, dry surface. Do not place near objects with fire risks.
* Operation of the Fondue Deep-frying pan
Put the lid on the Fondue Deep-frying pan. When you use frying fat, switch on the appliance, so the fat can melt, Set the Fondue Deep-frying pan to the lowest temperature, until all fat has melted. Then set the thermostat to the desired temperature. When the thermostat is switched on, the thermostat light is on, until the desired temperature has been reached. This lamp alternately switches on and off, to keep the set temperature constant.
Oil filling
IMPORTANT!
never switch on Fondue Deep-frying pan without oil.
We recommend liquid oil, suitable for deep frying. Never use oil mixtures or new oil with used oil. Fill the appliance with the desired amount of oil. The amount of oil always has to be between the minimum (0.4 litre) and the maximum (0.45 litre). Make sure, before switching on, that the oil level is between the levels mentioned above.
When you use palm butter/deep-frying fat, cut it into pieces, so the bottom of the Fondue Deep-frying pan is covered. with it. Set the thermostat to the lowest temperature and switch on the appliance. let the fat melt and gradually add more fat (450 grams of fat is about 0.45 litre).
Useful tips for a good result
Cut pieces in approximately the same size and thickness if you want them to be cooked in the same amount of time. Take care not to cut pieces that are too thick to be cooked well at the inside. Use dry foods, these will become crispier. Not all frozen foods are suitable for the Fondue Deep-frying pan. Fish fillets that are not bread crumbed, have to be dried. Frozen fries need not be defrosted. Change the oil regularly - this improves the taste. To retain the quality of the oil for a longer period of time, you need to remove food remains from the oil, when the oil has been cooled down. Put the food in the Fondue Deep-frying pan after th6 desired temperature has been reached. Season the deep-fried food only after it has been taken out of the Fondue Deep-frying pan and out of the basket.
Cooking times To deep-fry food, the following cooking times are given as a guide. Times may vary according to quantities used and personal taste.
| Cooking time (min) | C | |
| Potato chips | 12 | 190 |
| frozen potato chips | 10 | 190 |
| portion of frozen chips (200 g) | 5 | 190 |
| frozen fish fingers (6 pieces) | 7 | 180 |
| frozen squid fritters (340 g) | 5 | 180 |
| chicken breast slices (fresh) | 8-9 | 170 |
| frozen chicken nuggets (300 g) | 3-4 | 170 |
| camembert dice meat balls (400 g) | 2-3 | 160 |
| meat balls (400 g) | 9 | 150 |
| fresh mushrooms (350 g) | 5 | 150 |
Please use cooking manuals for recipes for fondu in chocolate and cheese. The chocolate and cheese need to be melted first before putting it in the Fondue deep frying pan. Having fondue, start at a low temperature. Adjust the temperature dependent on the ingredients.
Operation
Attach the supplied handle to the basket by pushing it slightly together and closing it in. Place the basket, do not overfill the appliance (see the max. mark), otherwise the upper part will not get warm. The maximum contents of the basket are 400g for fresh foods, and 340g for frozen foods. If the thermostat light has gone out, lower the basket slowly into the oil and take off the handle. Close the lid, watch for the correct fit. You can fry three times in a row. However, for the best results, you have to add new oil. When the food is ready, watch out when opening the lid. Use a cloth, to protect yourself against the hot parts and escaping vapours. Take out the basket with handle. Carefully shake off the excess oil from the food.
After use
After use, the appliance should be switched off and the plug should be pulled from the socket. Let the appliance cool down completely, before you move it, clean it, or put it away. This will take about 1 to 2 hours.
Filtering of oil/fat
Carefully pour the fat into a holder (of at least 0.45 litre). Dry the Fondue Deep-frying pan internally with absorbing paper (kitchen roll). Place a paper filter (for example, a coffee filter) in the basket and pour the collected fat carefully through the filter, into the basket. The fat can be kept in the refrigerator; palm butter/deep frying fat can also be kept in, the Fondue/ deep frying pan.
Changing of oil/fat
Change the fat regularly, after 8 to 12 hours of use. This improves the taste of the food. The used oil is cooled down in a holder and thrown away afterwards. Never pour it into the sink.
Cleaning
Switch off the Fondue Deep-frying pan and pull the plug from the socket. Let the appliance cool down completely. Clean the outside of the appliance and the cable with a warm damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. When the oil is changed (see changing of oil), dry the inside of the appliance with paper, for example a kitchen roll, and remove possible remains. Wash the inside with warm water, rinse it and dry it. Use an amount of water as small as possible, so no water is splashing on the appliance. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Wash the basket, the handle and the holder with warm water and a rinsing agent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Changing the filters
We recommend changing the filter after 20 to 30 times of use. Take off the lid from the Fondue Deep-frying pan; screw off the plate with a small crosshead screwdriver. Take out the filter and clean the lid. Put in the new filter with the curved part on the outside, and screw the plate back.
