⚠️In accordance with safety regulations, a safety valve (8 bar, G1/2 F) must be installed on the tank. For France, we recommend hydraulic safety units equipped with a diaphragm with the NF mark. The nominal pressure of the safety valve shall not exceed 0.8 MPa.
  1. The appliance must be installed by qualified personnel. Do not attempt to install the appliance yourself. Incorrect installation may result in water leakage, electric shock, fire or explosion.

  3. Place the appliance on a base solid enough to support its weight.

  5. Use a cable of adequate length. Do not use extension cords or extension cables, which may cause overheating, electric shock, fire or explosion.

  1. After installation is completed, check for refrigerant gas leakage. When installing or relocating the appliance, be sure to bleed the refrigerant circuit to ensure that there is no air in the circuit and that only the specified refrigerant (R290) is used.
  2. Do not use methods that accelerate the defrosting process or any type of cleaning that is not specified in this manual.
  3. Do not pierce or burn the device.
  4. Note that the refrigerant may be odourless.
  5. Comply with national gas regulations.
  6. The device must not be disposed of or disassembled by the user.
  7. Do not install the appliance in any place where flammable gas is leaking. If a gas leakage occurs, it may cause a fire.
  8. Only qualified personnel should handle, charge, purge and dispose of the refrigerant.

Refrigerant charge and discharge requirements

  1. The appliance must be handled with care during the refrigerant charging and discharging process.

  2. Do not handle the device roughly. Do not kick, drop or throw it.

  3. Workers involved in loading and unloading operations must receive the necessary training on the hazards that may arise from rough handling.

  4. The place where loading and unloading operations take place shall be equipped with dry powder extinguishers or other suitable fire extinguishing equipment.

  5. Untrained personnel shall not be involved in loading and unloading operations not involving flammable refrigerants.

  6. Anti-static measures must be taken before loading and unloading, and the telephone must not be answered during these operations.

Transport management requirements

  1. The maximum transport volume must be determined in accordance with local regulations.
  2. Vehicles used for transport shall be operated in accordance with local laws or regulations.
  3. Specialised aftermarket vehicles should be used for servicing, and refrigerant cylinders and products requiring servicing should not be allowed to be transported in the open air.

Storage requirements

Installation instructions

Electrical safety requirements

  1. Electrical wiring must be carried out with attention to environmental conditions (ambient temperature, direct sunlight and rain) and effective protective measures must be taken.

  2. Power supply and connection cables must be made of copper.

  3. The appliance must be earthed.
  4. A dedicated branch circuit must be used and a leakage arrester of sufficient capacity must be installed.

Maintenance measures

  1. If a malfunction occurs that requires soldering of the refrigerant pipes or internal components of the refrigeration system of air conditioners with R290 refrigerant, it cannot be repaired on the user's premises; instead, the unit must be transported to an explosion-proof workshop for repair.
  2. In the event of a fault requiring complete disassembly or replacement of the condenser, this cannot be carried out on the user's premises.
  3. If a breakdown occurs that requires replacement of the compressor or parts of the refrigeration system, this cannot be carried out on the user's premises.
  4. If a malfunction occurs that is not related to the refrigerant container, internal refrigerant piping or any other refrigeration element, it may be repaired at the user's premises. In addition, cleaning and draining of the refrigeration system may also be carried out if disassembly of the refrigeration system is not required.

Training required for maintenance staff

  1. All servicing personnel involved in refrigeration circuits shall hold valid certificates issued by an industry-recognised assessment body to ensure that they meet the qualifications for the safe handling of refrigerants.

  2. Maintenance and repair of the appliance shall only be carried out in accordance with the methods recommended

by the manufacturer. If assistance from other professionals is required, it shall be supervised by a person with relevant qualifications in flammable refrigerants.

Checking the maintenance site

  1. Prevent refrigerant leakage.
  2. During maintenance, continuous ventilation must be maintained.
  3. Avoid placing the appliance near open flames or heat sources that reach temperatures above 548° C.
  4. During maintenance, all telephones and radioactive electronic equipment in the area where the apparatus is located shall be switched off.
  5. The maintenance area shall be equipped with a dry powder or carbon dioxide extinguisher.

Maintenance site requirements

  1. The maintenance area must be well-ventilated, and the floor must be level. It is not permitted to carry out maintenance work on the appliance in a cellar.
  2. The maintenance area should be divided into a welding and a non-welding area with clear signage. A certain safety distance between the two areas must be ensured.
  3. The maintenance site must be equipped with fans. Special extraction ducts can also be installed to meet ventilation requirements and to prevent the accumulation of refrigerant gas.
  4. Leak detection equipment for flammable refrigerants must be installed and a relevant management system put in place. Before inspection and maintenance, it must be confirmed whether leak detection equipment is available.
  5. A sufficient number of dedicated vacuum pumps for

flammable refrigerants and refrigerant charging equipment must be installed and a relevant management system for servicing equipment must be established. In addition, it must be ensured that the servicing equipment is only used for vacuum and charging of one type of flammable refrigerant. Mixed use is not allowed.

  1. The main switch of the power supply must be located outside the maintenance area and be equipped with (explosion-proof) protective devices.
  2. Nitrogen, acetylene and oxygen cylinders must be placed separately. The distance between the above cylinders and the working area must be at least 6 m. Acetylene cylinders must be installed with a non-return valve. The colour of the installed acetylene and oxygen cylinders must be in accordance with international requirements.
  3. The warning sign "No naked flames" shall be placed inside the maintenance area.
  4. The maintenance area must be equipped with fire control devices suitable for the electrical apparatus, such as dry powder or carbon dioxide extinguishers.
  5. Fans and other electrical equipment at the maintenance site shall be relatively fixed with standardised piping. Temporary cables and plugs are not permitted.

Leak detection methods

  1. The area where you check for refrigerant leaks must be free of possible ignition sources. The use of halogen probes (or any other open flame detector) for leak detection should be avoided.
  2. In systems containing flammable refrigerants, leak detection can be performed with specific electronic equipment. During leak detection, the environment in which the equipment is

calibrated shall be free of refrigerant. It shall be ensured that the equipment does not become a potential source of ignition, and that it is applicable to the refrigerant to be detected. The leak detection equipment shall be set to a percentage of the LFL of the refrigerant and calibrated for the refrigerant used. In addition, the appropriate percentage of gas (maximum 25 %) shall be confirmed.

  1. The fluids used for leak detection shall be suitable for most refrigerants. Chlorinated solvents should be avoided to prevent chlorine from chemically reacting with the refrigerant and corroding copper tubes.
  2. If you suspect a leak, extinguish any flames.
  3. If the leak site requires welding, all refrigerant must be recovered or isolated with a shut-off valve at a location away from the leak. The entire system must be decontaminated before and during welding.

Security principles

  1. While the appliance is being repaired, the repair area must be well ventilated. Make sure that doors and windows are open.
  2. It is strictly forbidden to produce flames (smoking, welding, etc.). The use of mobile phones is also forbidden.
  3. If maintenance is carried out when the relative humidity of the environment is below 40 %, antistatic measures must be taken, e.g. the use of cotton clothing and gloves.
  4. When a leakage of flammable refrigerant is detected during maintenance, forced ventilation measures must be taken immediately and the source of leakage must be blocked.
  5. If the refrigeration system has to be disassembled for repair, it must be transported to a suitable location. It is not permitted to solder refrigerant pipes on the user's premises.

  6. The cooling system must be safely earthed during the entire maintenance process.

  7. When charging refrigerant, an electronic balance or spring balance should be used to measure the charge. The connecting hose between the refrigerant cylinder and the charging equipment must be properly relaxed to prevent tension from affecting the accuracy of the measurement.

Refrigerant storage site requirements

  1. The refrigerant cylinder must be placed in a well-ventilated environment with a temperature between -10 °C and 50 °C. In addition, it shall bear a warning label.
  2. Tools used for maintenance that come into contact with the refrigerant must be stored and used separately, and tools for different refrigerants must not be mixed.

Transport and storage instructions

  1. During transport or storage, the device must be kept in its original packaging to prevent damage.
  2. During transport or storage, the device must be in an upright position.
