Free of Freon

This freezer uses freon-free refrigerant (R600a) and foaming insulation material (cyclopentane), which are environmentally friendly, do not cause damage to the ozone layer, and have a very low impact on global warming. R600a is flammable and does not leak during normal use when sealed in a refrigeration system. In the event of refrigerant leakage due to damage to the refrigerant circuit, be sure to keep the appliance away from open flames and open the windows to ventilate as soon as possible.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the appliance if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.
• Before connecting the appliance to the mains, let it stand for about 2 hours to reduce the possibility of damage to the cooling system caused by handling during transport.
• Clean the appliance thoroughly, especially inside.
• Make sure that all shelves are correctly positioned.

3. ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION

Placement and installation

• Place the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated place. Never place the device near other heat-emitting appliances (e.g. stoves, ovens, radiators, water heaters, etc.) and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight. If this is not possible, use a suitable insulating barrier.
• There must be a clearance of at least 75 mm behind the appliance. The appliance must be at least 50 mm away from any furniture to ensure adequate ventilation. In addition, there must be at least 100 mm clearance on both sides of the appliance.
• Place the appliance on a solid base. Use the adjustable feet to level the appliance.

Shelves

The shelves can be placed on the side guides inside the appliance. Perishable products should be stored at the back of the shelves, as they will be more exposed to the cold there.

Defrost water outlet

The inside of the appliance is cooled by a plate on the rear wall. Under the plate there is a duct and an outlet to drain out the water generated from defrosting.

Check both of these elements periodically to make sure that they are not obstructed.

4. OPERATION

The temperature of the appliance is regulated by setting the thermostat knob to the desired value. Fig. 2

Temperature setting

To start the appliance, turn the thermostat knob to the desired temperature.

Note: The temperature range is from 0 to 10 °C.

The temperature will vary depending on the number of food items stored and how often the door is opened.

To stop the appliance from cooling, turn the thermostat knob to the "0" position. If the appliance has not been used for some time, set it to the coldest temperature for 2-3 hours and, after this time, select the desired temperature setting. If the appliance is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect the power plug and leave the door partially open. This will prevent the formation of mildew.

Changes in the ambient room temperature will affect the internal temperatures of the appliance.

If you turn the thermostat knob to the "0" position, the appliance will not work (the cooling system will be switched off), but the power supply will not be interrupted.

The temperature inside the appliance will also depend on how often the door is opened.

1. Remove the self-tapping screws securing the lampshade with a screwdriver.
2. Remove the self-tapping screws securing the LED panel with a screwdriver.
3. Pull the contact terminal on the right side of the LED panel and install a new LED panel.

Comments

• Do not put hot food inside the appliance.
• Before putting anything inside the appliance, make sure to remove all packaging material (covers, cardboard, etc.).
• Pack food items properly or seal them in storage containers before placing them inside the appliance and prevent them from touching each other (if this happens, the flavours may get mixed). Ensure adequate air circulation around the storage containers.
• Do not store flammable, volatile or explosive substances.
• Do not overload the appliance with food or drinks beyond its capacity. It may affect the cooling performance and cause motor failure.
• Do not block the ventilation openings of the appliance. It may cause the motor to overheat.

• Do not use the appliance for purposes other than food and beverage storage. There is a risk of compromising the functionality and safety of the appliance.

• Store drinks with a high percentage of alcohol in tightly closed bottles in an upright position.

• Prevent food from touching the rear wall.
• Avoid opening the door too often.
• Adjust the thermostat gradually.
• Some foods (e.g. lemon or orange juice) may damage the plastic surfaces or gasket if they come into contact with them for long periods of time.
• If you notice odours inside the appliance, clean it using a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent.
• If you plan to go on holidays, be sure to remove perishable products from the appliance.

Energy saving tips

• If the gasket is damaged or the door seal is faulty, the energy consumption will increase considerably. If this happens, replace the gasket.
• Remove the transport bracket attached to the base of the door and adjust the feet before operating the appliance.
• Avoid opening the door too often, especially in hot and humid weather. Once you open the door, close it as soon as possible.
• Check periodically whether the air circulation at the rear of the appliance is adequate.
• Increase the temperature when possible (this will depend on the load, room temperature, etc.).
• If a 3-5 mm thick layer of frost appears, remove it as soon as possible, otherwise energy consumption will increase considerably.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

For safe and efficient operation, regular inspections and maintenance are essential.

To do this, carry out monthly visual inspections by checking the power cord and plug, making sure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed, checking that the doors close properly and that the gasket is intact.

Automatic defrost

If there is a layer of frost on the rear wall of the appliance, the refrigerator will remove it automatically, without the need for you to intervene.

Cleaning

• Switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains before cleaning.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, as this may damage the appliance's surface.
• Clean the outside of the appliance with water and a mild cleaning agent.
• Remove the shelves and clean them with water and a liquid cleaning agent. Plastic parts

cannot be washed in the dishwasher.

• Clean the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water. If desired, you can add one or two tablespoons of vinegar.
• After cleaning, connect the appliance to the mains and put the desired food items back in.

Switch off the appliance when not in use

If you are not going to use the appliance for a long time, set the thermostat knob to the "0" position. Then, disconnect the power supply, remove all food items and clean it. Leave the door slightly open.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING

Sometimes you may encounter minor problems which, in most cases, can be easily solved. Please refer to the following guide to help you identify the possible cause and solution to your problem. If, after following these instructions, the problem still persists, please contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service.

The appliance is connected to the mains, but it does not work

• Check that the power cable is connected correctly.
• Check that there is no blown fuse and that the circuit breaker is not faulty.
• Make sure that the appliance is switched on, i.e. that the thermostat knob is not in the "0" position.

The appliance is not cooling properly

• The door is opened frequently or left open for too long.
  o The door is not closed properly (the gasket may be damaged).
• You have overloaded the appliance.
• The compressor ventilation is not adequate.

A layer of frost forms on the inner rear wall

• If the layer is less than 3 mm thick, the automatic defrost system will be activated.
• If the layer is 3-5 mm thick, it must be removed manually.
• To do this, set the thermostat knob to the "0" position and leave the door open.
• Do not use any electrical device for defrosting and do not scrape off the frost layer with any sharp object.

Once the defrosting process is complete, turn the thermostat knob to the desired position and close the door. Frost build-up may be caused by one of the following reasons:

• The door does not seal properly (clean the gasket if it is dirty or replace it if it is damaged).

• The door is opened frequently or left open for too long.

• You have put hot food inside the appliance.

• A food item is touching the inner rear wall.

The appliance is leaking water

If the defrost water outlet is obstructed, or if water drips onto the duct, the appliance will leak.

• Unclog the outlet and clean it.
• Remove the frost layer manually.

The appliance makes noise

• When the appliance is running, the compressor will produce some noise. This will depend on the location, use and age of the appliance. This is a normal phenomenon and has no influence whatsoever on its useful life.
• Immediately after switching on the appliance, the compressor and the refrigerant flow may produce more noise than usual. This is a normal phenomenon, not a problem. As time goes by, the noise will decrease.
• If you hear a loud noise, it means that the appliance may not be installed correctly. Remember that:

o The appliance must be level and placed on a firm, solid surface.
- The appliance must not touch any walls or furniture.
- All shelves must be correctly positioned and the food items placed inside the appliance must not touch each other.
