3. OPERATION
Filling up the water tank
- Make sure the iron is switched off and unplugged before filling up the water tank.
-
Turn the steam knob to the '0' position before filling up the water tank.
-
Open the water tank cover and fill the tank up to the "MAX" line. The water level can be observed through the see-through part of the tank with the iron placed upright.
- Empty the water tank after each use.
- Pour out the remaining water after use.
Note
- Do not use chemically descaled or perfumed water.
- Whenever you fill or empty the water tank, you must do so with the iron unplugged from the mains. Do not exceed the "MAX" mark on the tank.
- Do not use additives or add other liquids such as perfume, vinegar, starch, condensed water from dryers or air conditioning systems, or chemicals, as this may damage the product.
- This product is designed to work with tap water. However, to ensure optimal performance for longer, you can mix tap water with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio. If water in your area is very hard, the mixture of tap water and distilled water should be in a 1:2 ratio.
Dry ironing
- Fill the tank as described in 'How to fill the tank'.
- Place the iron upright.
- Plug the iron.
- Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the "MIN" position.
- Preheat the iron until the indicator light turns off.
- You can now proceed to dry ironing.
Warning: if temperature is decreased after ironing at a high temperature, do not start ironing until the soleplate cools down to the selected temperature.
Using the spray
- Before using the spray function, check for ironing instructions on the fabric label to avoid stains.
- The spray function is especially useful for removing stubborn creases and when more humidification is needed. The spray can be used with steam or dry ironing. Simply press the spray button when you want to spray water on the fabric.
Steam ironing
- Fill up the iron as explained below: filling up the water tank.
- Place the iron upright and turn the temperature adjustment knob to the steam position. 3.
- Plug the cord into a power outlet.
- Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the steam position. Steam ironing is only possible at the highest temperature settings indicated by the "MAX" mark; otherwise, water will drip from the soleplate.
- Preheat the iron until the indicator light turns off. When the correct temperature is reached, the indicator light will turn off.
ENGLISH
- Move the steam adjustment lever to the setting most suitable for the different types of fabric to be ironed.
- You can now proceed to steam ironing.
Using the steam shot
- The steam shot function provides additional steam to remove stubborn creases. It can be used with both dry and steam ironing.
- Press the steam-shot button to release a steam shot. It may be necessary to press the button several times to activate the surge system. Wait a few seconds for steam to penetrate the fabric before pressing the button again for more steam.
Note:
For optimal steam quality, do not apply more than three consecutive steam shots after the indicator light turns off.
Anti-scale function
The anti-scale function is a permanent system inside the water tank used to remove impurities from the water and reduce problems caused by limescale build-up.
To extend the efficiency of the system, occasionally follow these steps:
- Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down.
- Use the container to fill the tank. Fill it up to 3/4 full with water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and fill the water tank with this mix.
- Leave the solution in the water tank for 15 minutes, shake the iron from time to time, and then empty it.
- Fill the water tank a second time with saline solution, stirring occasionally, and empty it again after 15 minutes.
- Fill the tank with water for rinsing and then empty it.
Anti-drip function
This system controls the water flow emitted to the soleplate at all times. Above a certain temperature, the anti-drip function cuts off the water flow and prevents the soleplate from dripping water onto the garments.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
After each use
- Turn off and unplug the iron.
- Empty the tank immediately after use. Do not store the iron with water in it.
- Wait until the iron has cooled down before storing it, and always place it on the base to protect the soleplate from scratches, corrosion, or stains.
- After allowing the iron to cool down completely, store it upright in a safe place.
Exterior iron surface
After unplugging and allowing the iron to cool down, simply wipe it with a damp cloth and, if necessary, use a mild detergent.
Warning: do not use aggressive cleaners.
Soleplate
- Starch and other types of residues can be easily removed from the soleplate with a damp cloth.
- To avoid scratching the finish, never use a metal scouring pad to clean the soleplate or place the iron on a rough surface. If synthetic fabrics are ironed at too high a temperature, not only can the fabric be damaged, but it's possible for the iron soleplate to be covered with the synthetic fabric's melted residue. The best way to remove synthetic residues from the soleplate is to heat up the iron and iron an old cotton cloth.
WARNING:
Never use iron cleaners as they may damage the working parts of the iron.
Self-cleaning
IMPORTANT: Your iron will give the best ironing results and last longer by auto-cleaning once a month or more depending on usage.
- Fill half of the water tank with water and leave the steam selector in off position.
- Place the iron upright.
- Plug the iron.
- Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the "MAX" position.
- Allow the iron to heat up until the indicator light turns off.
- Unplug the iron from the socket.
- Hold the iron horizontally over the sink.
- Hold down the auto-clean button: hot water and steam will come out of the holes in the soleplate. Move the iron forwards and backwards; keep letting steam and water out until the water tank is empty.
- Turn the steam knob to the "0" position.
- Plug the iron.
- Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the "MAX" position and let the iron heat up again: the rest of the water inside the tank will vaporise and come out of the iron through the soleplate.
During this dry steaming process, it is advisable to use a piece of old cloth.
