SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please, for your own safety, carefully read these safety instructions before starting up.

LOOK OUT FOR CHILDREN!

An electrical appliance is not a toy. Children do not recognise the dangers that could arise through use of electrical appliances. Make your children aware of the dangers, which could be associated with this appliance:

  • Burns from touching the appliance or hot air.
  • Dangers from electrical current.
  • Fire if the appliance is covered.

For these reasons, the appliance should always be supervised and kept out of reach of children. Children must not use the appliance. In a household with children, always switch the appliance off after use and unplug in from the mains.

  • The appliance must not be used if it is in any way damaged. Regularly check the heating rods and power cable. The isolation must not be damaged or crushed.
  • Only use the appliance in it's fully assembled state, upright and with the heating element in a horizontal position. Otherwise the housing could overheat, which could lead to a fire risk.
  • Stand the floor heater on a level surface. Leave enough space on all sides and above.
  • The floor heater can only be used if it is placed on a level surface. On an uneven surface, the safety switch on the underside of the appliance will not be pushed in and the floor heater will not be able to be used. For safety reasons, this switch must not be bypassed or otherwise put out of action. Keep the safety switch clean to provide trouble free use.
  • The device must only be used in dry surroundings and away from flammable materials, liquids or gasses. The floor heater is intended for indoor use only. If used on a patio or balcony, the appliance absolutely must be supervised and protected from moisture. This floor heater must not be used in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
  • Position the power cable so that there is no risk of tripping. The cable must not be damaged by sharp edges or heat. Use only approved extension cables.
  • The appliance must be switched off when it is to be plugged into the mains.
  • The appliance may only be connected to an earthed mains socket with 220/230 Volts. Your household electricity supply must correspond with the voltage shown on the type plate. Non-earthed plug sockets for razors are not suitable.

  • Do not stand the appliance directly under a lug socket.

  • Never use the appliance with timer automatic switches e.g. timer switches, which automatically switch the appliance on as accidental covering of the appliance could lead to a fire risk.
  • The appliance may only be connected to an extension cable, which is suitable for an output of 1.500 Watts.
  • Do not cover the appliance and do not place anything over or on top of the appliance. Keep a distance of at least 50~cm to all flammable objects. There is a fire risk!
  • Do not touch the front side of the heating element, the metal casing or the two handles on the front side during and shortly after use. These parts become very hot. Danger of being burnt!
  • Never clean the appliance with easily flammable cleaning agents as for example Petrol or Spirit.
  • When connected to the mains, only move the appliance using the handle on the backside of the heating element. Only move the appliance when it is switched off and has cooled.
  • Do not allow hair or clothing to get too near the appliance when in use.
  • Never submerge the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water.
  • If a problem occurs while in use or while cleaning, first unplug the appliance. Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
  • Unplug the appliance when not in use.
  • When unplugging the appliance, always pull by the plug not the cable.
  • Repairs must be carried out by qualified experts only to avoid danger or accident. This also applies to the changing of the mains power cable. In the case of unqualified repair being carried out, the guarantee becomes void.
  • The floor heater is intended for domestic use only, not for commercial use.
  • If the appliance is passed on to someone else, include these instructions for use. Only in this way can the next person use the appliance safely.

GETTING STARTED

Assembling the appliance

  • Lay the heating element (3) with the stand carefully on the floor, with the heating rods facing downwards.
