Important!
When using the equipment, a few safety precautions must be observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care. Keep this manual in a safe place so that the information is available at all times. If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions.
1. Safety regulations
Important!
For safety reasons, the equipment is not to be used by children, young people under 16 years of age, or any other persons who are not acquainted with these operating instructions.
Always inspect the equipment visually before using it. Do not use the equipment if safety devices are damaged or worn. Never disable safety devices.
- Stop using the equipment when there are people – particularly children – or pets nearby.
- You are responsible for safety in the work area.
Make sure you stand squarely at all times while working.
- Never leave the equipment unsupervised in the work area. If you stop work for a while, leave the equipment in a safe place.
- If you stop your work in order to go to another area to work, you must make sure that the equipment is switched off while you are going there.
- Never use the equipment while it is raining or in damp or wet surroundings.
- Protect your equipment against moisture and rain.
- When working with fertilizers and dusty products, wear suitable eye and breathing protection. Protect your skin and eyes from dust.
- Do not use the equipment for distributing liquids, powder, pesticides, herbicides or chemicals intended for conventional, commercial or industrial use.
- Prior to working with the spreader material, read the instructions on the relevant fertilizer or seed packaging and be sure to follow these instructions.
- When the equipment is in operation, you must always hold it away from your body!
- Do not switch on the equipment when it is turned around or when it is not in working position.
- Never point the equipment directly at yourself or at any other person.
- When you are not using the equipment, keep it in a dry place out of the reach of children.
- Do not use the spreader material compartment to store unneeded spreader material.
- Clean the spreader material compartment before filling.
- Make sure that the ON/OFF switch is not activated before you remove any blockages, clean the equipment, perform any maintenance or place the equipment in storage.
- Never remove blockages with your fingers - use a stick or a similar tool.
- Be careful not to touch the moving parts of the equipment.

This equipment is not designed to be used by people (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or those with no experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or they have received instructions from such a person in how to use the equipment safely. Children must always be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the equipment.
Use of the batteries
- If the equipment is not used correctly the batteries may leak. Avoid contact with the battery fluid. If you come into contact with battery fluid, clean the affected body part with running water. If you get battery fluid in your eyes, seek immediate medical assistance.
- Leaked battery fluid can cause skin irritation and acid burns.

4. Intended use
The equipment is designed solely for spreading grass seeds, fertilizers, rock salt and de-icer outdoors.
The equipment may only be used for the tasks it is designed to handle. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.
Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the equipment is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

6. Before starting the equipment
Insert the batteries before using for the first time (Fig. 2)
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert four new batteries. Be sure to observe the correct polarity (+/-) of the batteries.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
Notes
- Ensure that the ON/OFF switch (6) is not activated, before inserting the batteries.
- Inserting the batteries when the equipment is switched on can cause accidents.
Use four alkali batteries, type Mignon AA (1.5 V).
Always replace all batteries when the equipment becomes weaker or ceases to work. - Never use a combination of new and used batteries.
- Never use a battery type other than the specified one.
- If the equipment is not used for a lengthy period of time, remove the batteries from the equipment to prevent them leaking.
- Dispose of spent batteries properly.
7. Operation
7.1 Recommended spreading settings (Fig. 1 / Item 2)
Each spreader material is supplied with instructions on how many grams per square meter are to be spread. Set a low flow rate for smaller quantities and increase the flow rate for larger quantities.
The following settings are recommended:
Setting 1: fine grass seeds
Setting 2: coarse grass seeds
Setting 3: light fertilizer
Setting 4: heavy fertilizer
Setting 5: pearled fertilizer or de-icer
Note:
Numerous variable factors (such as walking speed, working height, motor speed etc.) do not allow a specific recommendation of the spreading setting. Rather, the optimal setting must be determined by the user when starting with the work.
7.2 Spreading (Fig. 1/3)
Note:
The ON/OFF switch (6) activates the opening for the spreader material as well as the spreader wheel. Important! You cannot actuate the ON/OFF switch (6) until you have pushed back the switch lock (1). The switch lock may become detached if you fail to observe this point.
- Ensure that the ON/OFF switch (6) is not activated and that the infinitely adjustable speed controller (5) is set to position "0".
- Place the spreader on a paved surface and fill spreading material into the spreading material
compartment (3).
- Set the setting recommended for the relevant spreading material using the spreading quantity adjustment (2).
- Set the required spreading width using the speed controller (5).
- Push back the switch lock (1) and activate the ON/OFF switch (6).
- After carrying out work on a small area, adjust the settings if necessary.
8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts
Before carrying out any cleaning work, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is not activated and that the infinitely adjustable speed controller is set to position "0".
8.1 Cleaning
- Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it down with compressed air at low pressure.
We recommend that you clean the equipment immediately after you use it. - Clean the appliance regularly with a damp cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these may be aggressive to the plastic parts in the appliance. Ensure that no water can get into the interior of the equipment.
8.2 Servicing
There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.
8.3 Ordering replacement parts
Please provide the following information on all orders for spare parts:

9. Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Defective components must be disposed of as special waste. Ask your dealer or your local council.
10. Disposing of batteries
Batteries contain materials that are potentially harmful to the environment. Never place batteries in your household refuse, in fire or in water. Batteries should be collected, recycled or disposed of by environment-friendly means.

Never place any electric tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2002/96/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the demand to return electrical devices:
As an alternative to returning the electrical device, the owner is obliged to cooperate in ensuring that the device is properly recycled if ownership is relinquished. This can also be done by handing over the used device to a returns center, which will dispose of it in accordance with national commercial and industrial waste management legislation. This does not apply to the accessories and auxiliary equipment without any electrical components which are included with the used device.

Please note the following terms, under which guarantee claims can be made:
- These guarantee terms cover additional guarantee rights and do not affect your statutory warranty rights. We do not charge you for this guarantee.
- Our guarantee only covers problems caused by material or manufacturing defects, and it is restricted to the rectification of these defects or replacement of the device. Please note that our devices have not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Consequently, the guarantee is invalidated if the equipment is used in commercial, trade or industrial applications or for other equivalent activities. The following are also excluded from our guarantee: compensation for transport damage, damage caused by failure to comply with the installation/assembly instructions or damage caused by unprofessional installation, failure to comply with the operating instructions (e.g. connection to the wrong mains voltage or current type), misuse or inappropriate use (such as overloading of the device or use of non-approved tools or accessories), failure to comply with the maintenance and safety regulations, ingress of foreign bodies into the device (e.g. sand, stones or dust), effects of force or external influences (e.g. damage caused by the device being dropped) and normal wear resulting from proper operation of the device. This applies in particular to rechargeable batteries for which we nevertheless issue a guarantee period of 12 months.
The guarantee is rendered null and void if any attempt is made to tamper with the device. - The guarantee is valid for a period of 2 years starting from the purchase date of the device. Guarantee claims should be submitted before the end of the guarantee period within two weeks of the defect being noticed. No guarantee claims will be accepted after the end of the guarantee period. The original guarantee period remains applicable to the device even if repairs are carried out or parts are replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fitted will not result in an extension of the guarantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or parts fitted. This also applies when an on-site service is used.
- In order to assert your guarantee claim, please send your defective device postage-free to the address shown below, or contact the nearest authorised DIY store. Please enclose either the original or a copy of your sales receipt or another dated proof of purchase. Please keep your sales receipt in a safe place, as it is your proof of purchase. It would help us if you could describe the nature of the problem in as much detail as possible. If the defect is covered by our guarantee then your device will either be repaired immediately and returned to you, or we will send you a new device.
