- Lower position for the functions "warm frothing", "heating milk" and "cocoa". - Upper position for the function "cold frothing".
Ensure that it rests firmly in the grooves.

◆ Push the whisk ② onto the drive shaft inside the milk container ③. ◆ Plug the plug into a power outlet. A beep will sound.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Tips for good frothy milk
This appliance works best for frothing cow's milk. Other types of milk, such as plant-based milk types like oat, almond or coconut, can only be frothed to a certain extent or may cause the appliance to overflow.
Low fat or skimmed milk does not burn as easily as whole milk; however, if the fat content is too low, there is a risk that the milk will not froth well. You should therefore use milk with a fat content of 3.5% or 1.5% when possible.
Chilled milk can be frothed better than warm milk.
Do not froth the milk a second time, otherwise it may burn.
Leave frothed milk to stand for about 30 seconds before you add the foam to cappuccino, espresso, etc. During this time the larger bubbles burst and the still-liquid milk sinks to the bottom. You can then use the fine foam.
Operation

CAUTION! For safety reasons, you should not open the lid ① while the appliance is in operation. There is a risk of scalding.
Parts of the appliance get hot during use! Therefore, touch the heated appliance only by the handle.
Always use fresh milk. Do not consume milk which has been standing in the milk container ③ for an extended period.
Note: If you want to stop the preparation process before it is finished, press the function button ⏻ or remove the milk container ③ from the base ④. You will have to reselect the programme when you resume the preparation process.
1) Remove the milk container ③ from the base ④ and fill it with milk. Add at least enough milk to reach the MIN mark (= 100 ml) inside the milk container ③. However, do not fill it with milk beyond the corresponding MAX mark, otherwise the appliance will overflow:
- Up to the lower MAX mark (= 200 ml) if you want to froth milk. - Up to the upper MAX mark (= 420 ml) if you only want to heat the milk or you want to prepare milk-based beverages such as cocoa or hot chocolate. Please refer to the section Preparing hot chocolate.
2) Put the lid ① on.
3) Place the milk container ③ on the base ④.
4) Press the function button ⏻ to select the appropriate programme:
| 9 | Programme | Indicator light | Whisk2 |
| 1 x | Warm frothing | 5 | ![]() |
| 2 x | Heating milk | 6 | [8SY4] |
| 3 x | Cocoa | 7 | [DSW5] |
| 4 x | Cold frothing | 8 | ![]() |
① Note: Every touch of the function button ⏻ ⑨ is acknowledged with a beep.
The indicator light 5/6/7/8 of the selected programme flashes. During the flashing, you can still switch the programme by pressing the function button 9 again. Once the symbol remains lit, the programme starts.
Once the programme has finished, the corresponding indicator light 5/6/7/8 flashes and a beep sounds. After a short time, the appliance switches off. To interrupt a programme early, press the function button ⏻ 9.
① Note: The fan in the appliance continues running for a time after programmes that produce heat.
5) When the programme is finished, remove the lid ① and take the milk container ③ off the base ④. 6) Pour the contents into the desired container. 7) Place the milk container ③ back on the base ④ or a heat-proof surface immediately after pouring. The milk container ③ may be very hot!
① Note: If the milk froth does not pour well, you can use a spoon.
8) After three consecutive uses, allow the appliance to cool to room temperature before heating another portion of milk.
Note: Clean the appliance immediately after use to prevent the milk from drying and adhering to the surfaces (see section Cleaning).
Preparing hot chocolate
Follow the instructions below to prepare hot chocolate or cocoa:
1) Break 30 g of chocolate into small pieces (max. 1x1 cm).
① ATTENTION! Never add pieces larger than 1×1 cm to the appliance! They could block the whisk ②.
2) Add the chocolate pieces to the milk container ③ with the whisk ② inserted. 3) Turn the whisk ② a few times by hand to prevent the whisk ② being blocked by chocolate pieces. 4) Fill the milk container ③ with milk up to the mark MAX O. 5) Place the lid ① on and start the cocoa programme.
① Note: Depending on the type of chocolate used, unmelted portions may remain in the milk container ③. Chocolates with a high fat content, such as milk chocolate, generally melt faster than chocolates with a low fat content, such as dark chocolate. ① Note: Instead of solid chocolate, you can also use 30 g of cocoa powder.
Overheating protection
This appliance is equipped with a safety cut-out (overheating protection):
The overheating protection is triggered if...
-...the appliance is started without the milk container ③ in place. -...the appliance is started with an empty milk container ③. -...the appliance executes several heat-producing programmes in a row.
In these cases, the set programme will not start or will stop after a short time. Multiple beeps will sound, and the indicator lights ⑤/⑥/⑦/⑧ will flash.
Allow the appliance to cool down and, if necessary, add chilled milk before reselecting the programme.
Cleaning
⚠️ DANGER! Risk of fatal injury from electrocution! Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the plug from the power outlet! Never immerse the base ④, power cord or plug in water or other liquids!
CAUTION! Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it. Risk of burns!
ATTENTION! Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents. They can corrode the surface and irreparably damage the appliance.
To prevent the milk residue from drying on, clean the milk container ③ after each use once it has cooled down. Proceed as follows:
◆ Fill the milk container ③ with water and, if required, a little detergent (the whisk ② is inserted). Add water up to the lower MAX mark MAX.
- Start the appliance so that the whisk ② swirls through the water for around 10 seconds. Stop the process by pressing the function button ⏻ ⑨, and remove the milk container ③ from the base ④. Then rinse the milk container ③ with clean water.
For a thorough cleaning and for the initial cleaning, proceed as follows:
Remove the whisk ② from the milk container ③, and clean the inside of the milk container ③ with warm water and mild detergent.
Wipe out the interior with a soft cloth or sponge. Pay special attention to the area around the drive shaft. Then rinse the milk container ③ carefully with clean water and dry it well.
Clean the lid ① in water with mild detergent. Remove the residues of detergent with clean water, and dry the lid ① well.
Disassemble the whisk ②, and clean both parts of the whisk ② in water with mild detergent. Rinse off everything with clean water, reassemble the whisk ② and let it dry.

The milk container ③, lid ① and whisk ② can also be washed in the dishwasher!
Clean all exterior surfaces, the base 4 and power cord with a slightly damp cloth. For stubborn soiling, add a little mild detergent to the cloth. Wipe off any detergent residues using a cloth moistened only with clean water. Always dry the appliance thoroughly before using it again.
Storage
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it into storage.
Wrap the power cord around the cable retainer 10.
Store the appliance in a clean and dry location.
