Rechargeable battery operation

When operating the appliance with the built-in nickel metal hydride battery, only use the power unit supplied for charging.

The power unit has an automatic 100 - 240V 50 / 60Hz transformer which works anywhere in the world. This allows it to adjust to all international AC voltages.

Press the button H to switch off the appliance.
2 Plug the power cord into the appliance socket and the power supply unit into the wall socket.

  • During the charging process, the indicator lights up red.
  • When the appliance is fully charged, the indicator lights up green.

3 Pull the power cord out of the the appliance socket J and the power supply unit out of the wall socket.

Notes

Charge up the batteries completely (about 7 hours) before you first use them or if you have not used them for a long time.
The ambient temperature should be between 5^ and 40^ .
If you switch on the appliance while it is charging, charging will be interrupted.
When fully charged, the appliance works for around 70 to 80 minutes. It is not advisable to charge the batteries after each use. Generally, you should only charge the batteries when they are completely discharged. This increases their service life. Do not charge them every day.

Shaving

1 Remove the plastic protective cap A.

Caution

The foils and blade blocks may not be damaged. Replace any damaged parts before shaving.
2 Press the button H to switch on the appliance.
3 Shave with slow, gentle movements against the direction of beard growth. Hold the appliance at a 90^ angle to your skin. Make sure both foils touch the skin.

Caution

Do not press too hard as you may damage the foils.
4 After use, switch off the appliance with the switch H and put the plastic cap back on.

Trimming

Use the extended trimmer for longer hair on your face and neck, but also on the beard, moustache or sideburns.

Press the button H to switch on the appliance.
2 Push up the trimmer until it latches in.
3 After use, push the trimmer back down.

Useful tips

Always pull the skin taut when shaving difficult areas such as your lower jaw.
Always cut against the natural direction of beard growth.
In the case of thick or copious beard growth which cannot be removed by just one shave, do one quick shave and then a more thorough second one.

General information

The device must be cleaned regularly so that you can continue to enjoy its top performance and optimum results. Clean the housing with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use any cleaning agents.

Cleaning with water

1 Press the H button to switch off the device.
2 Press the side lock buttons and remove the foil frame.
3 Rinse out the foil frame B under running water.
4 To remove all hairs, hold the blade blocks E under running water and switch on the appliance.

Caution

The appliance must be disconnected from the power unit.
5 Press the H button to switch off the device after rinsing.
Gently shake out the remaining moisture and then dry off the device with a clean cloth.
7 Replace the foil frame 8 and let it latch into place.

Cleaning with the brush

1 Turn the appliance off and remove the foil frame B. To do so, press the side lock buttons D.
2 Remove the E blade blocks for cleaning by pulling them upwards off the oscillator F.
3 Carefully brush hair clippings out of the blade blocks, the foils and the housing.

Caution

The foils can be irreparably damaged during cleaning. Only press very gently.
4 Put all parts on again after cleaning.

Caution

To ensure smooth operation, the foil frame must sit exactly in the housing. Never take the foils out of the frame.

Storage

If you do not want to use the appliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.

1 The appliance must be switched off and completely dry.
2 Store the appliance in the original storage bag in a cool, dry place.
3 Make sure the appliance is kept out of reach of children.

Replacing the foil frames and blade blocks

You can replace the foil frame and the blade blocks. The appropriate replacement shaving system (containing two blade blocks and one foil frame) is article number MSR 58. Ask your specialist dealer about it.

Replacing the foil frames

1 Remove the foil frame B. To do so, press the side lock buttons D.
2 Fix the new foil frame in the housing.

Caution

Ensure that the foil frame is firmly in position and cannot move within the housing.

Replacing the blade blocks

1 Remove the E blade blocks by pulling them upwards off the oscillator F.
2 Place the new blade blocks on the oscillator.

Caution

Ensure that the blade blocks are firmly in position on the holder.

Note

For an optimum shaving experience, always replace foil frames and blade blocks at the same time.

Environmental note
