USER MANUAL DVG 1122 HOOVER
This cleaner should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance. Use only attachments recommended or supplied by Hoover.
When using cleaning tools ensure to always steady the product with your other hand. This will ensure the product does not fall while in use.
WARNING: Electricity can be extremely dangerous. This appliance is double insulated and must not be earthed. This plug is fitted with a 13 amp fuse (UK only).
IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains power lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Blue - Neutral Brown - Live
STATIC ELECTRICITY: Some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to health.
AFTER USE: Switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply.
Always switch off and remove the plug before cleaning the appliance or attempting any maintenance task.
SAFETY WITH CHILDREN, ELDERLY OR THE INFIRM: Do not let children play with the appliance or its controls. Please supervise the use of the appliance by older children, the elderly or the infirm.
HOOVER SERVICE: To ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of this appliance we recommend that any servicing or repairs are only carried out by an authorised Hoover service engineer.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT:
- Use your cleaner out of doors or on any wet surface or for wet pick up. Keep hands, feet, loose clothing and hair away from rotating brushes.
- Pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or other similar items.
- Spray with or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols or their vapours as this may cause risk of fire / explosion.
- Run over the supply cord when using your cleaner or remove the plug by pulling on the supply cord.
- Stand on or wrap the power cord around arms or legs when using the cleaner.
- Use the appliance to clean people or animals.
- Continue to use your cleaner if it appears to be faulty. If the supply cord is damaged stop using the cleaner IMMEDIATELY. To avoid a safety hazard, an authorised Hoover service engineer must replace the supply cord.

PREPARING YOUR CLEANER

Remove the accessories from the main packaging. You will find the following:
-
Cleaner body
- Cleaner handle
- Carpet and floor nozzle
Floor polisher* - Parquet Caresse nozzle
Electric Power nozzle
Grand Turbo nozzle* -
Mini-turbo nozzle*

Assemble the cleaner handle and fix in position with the supplied screw. [2a]
- Secure the flexi tube handle to the rear of the cleaner handle. [2b]
- Secure the nozzle to the product [2c], and fix the product in the stand alone position.
For models equipped with Parquet Caresse nozzle*:
Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. For parquet floors and other delicate floors.

For models equipped with floor polish*:
- If needed, the Floor Polisher can to be attached underneath the Carpet and Floor nozzle. [3]
- The floor polisher is ideal to polish hard floor, marble and wooden floor.
For models equipped with electric power nozzle*:
The electric power nozzle has to be secured to the product neck as per the carpet and floor nozzle [4a], but the electrical connection must be inserted to Electric power nozzle socket. [4b]
For models equipped with Grand Turbo Nozzle*:
Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. Use the turbo nozzle for deep cleaning on carpets.
For models equipped with mini-turbo nozzle*:
Ideal to clean soft furnishings and for the pet hairs removal.
- The mini-turbo nozzle can be connected directly to the flexitube handle or the lance. [5a]
- If any blockages are encountered, please open the inspection cover on the underside. [5b]
Cord storage:
To store the cord after cleaning wrap the cord around the two cord hooks. [6]
USING YOUR CLEANER
Power switch:
- To switch the cleaner on, rotate the power control knob on the handle. [7]
- To switch off the product, rotate the same knob.
Cleaner lock release:
To start cleaning, unlock the cleaner by pressing with your foot the locking pedal on the nozzle. [8]
Using the flexi tube with accessories:
The flexi tube gives you the maximum flexibility of usage. it can be used alone or combined with the accessories, as desired. To vacuum with the supplied accessories:
- Select accessory mode by rotating the carry handle/accessory mode activator to accessory position until locked in position. [9]
- Remove the flexi tube from the location in the back of the cleaner handle. [10]

- To use the extension tube: remove the tube from the door by unclipping from the top. [11] Attach to the flexitube. [12a]
- To use the dusting brush: remove the tool from the location in the body of the product by pressing the middle of the component [13a] then unclipping from the top. [13b] Attach to the flexitube. [12b]
- To return to floor vacuuming push the floor mode button. [14]
IMPORTANT - When using cleaning tools, the cleaner must be kept in the upright position, and held. It must not be used in the stand alone position without the user holding the product. [15]
CLEANER MAINTENANCE
Replacing the disposable bag
- Lay the cleaner on a flat surface, pull back the door release button and remove the bag door. [16]
- Remove the disposable bag, close the flap to lock the contents and dispose. [17]
- Take a new bag and fit the collar with the location in the main body and rotate until fixed. [18]
- Locate tabs on door as shown and close door.
Attention: this product is fitted with a mechanism that prevents the door closing when there is no bag fitted.
Note: the bag may need changed frequently when picking up material such as powder or fine dust or when cleaning new carpets.
Cleaning the washable pre-motor filter
- Lay the cleaner on a flat surface, pull back the door release button and remove the bag door. [16]
- Remove the old pre motor filter by pressing the finger tab to release. [19]
- Gently tap the filter against the side of a bin to release excess dust. [20]
- If deeper cleaning is required: Wash the filter thoroughly under hand warm water until the water runs clean. [21]
- Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry for 24 hours. DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR DETERGENTS. [22]
- Refit bag door as above.
IMPORTANT - For optimum performance, shake off excess dust from the filters regularly. We recommend that the filter is washed every 3 months.
Note: Do not use the cleaner without filters assembled.

USER CHECKLIST
Should you have a problem with your product, complete the simple user checklist before calling the Hoover customer service.
- Is there a working electricity supply to the product? Check with another electrical product.
Is the bag full? Inspect and replace. - Is the hose blocked? Check by stretching to the full length
- Is the product inlet blocked? Check by removing the bag and checking the bag inlet.
- Is the filter blocked? Check by removing and clean.
