How to replace the dust bag?

Place the vacuum on a flat surface, press the trap door opening button, remove the full bag then insert a new bag by turning the collar to secure it. Close the trap door. The appliance prevents closure without a bag.

How to clean the pre-motor filter?

Open the trap door, remove the filter, tap or shake it to remove dust. For a thorough cleaning, wash it with warm water (not hot water or detergent), shake to remove excess water and let it dry for 24 hours before putting it back.

What accessories are included with the DVG 1122?

Depending on the version, the vacuum may include: carpet and floor brush, long/slim flat crevice tool, upholstery brush, extendable flexible hose, floor polisher, Parquet Caresse brush, Super Turbo Brush, Mini turbo brush and electric brush. Check the manual for the exact list.

How to use the accessory mode?

Turn the transport handle/accessory mode activator to the 'accessories' position until it locks. Disconnect the tube from its housing and attach the desired accessory. To return to floor cleaning, press the floor cleaning mode button.

What to do if the vacuum does not turn on?

First check that the mains socket works with another appliance. Make sure the bag is not full, the hose is not blocked and the filter is clean. If the problem persists, contact Hoover after-sales service.

How to store the power cord?

After use, wind the cord around the two hooks (rotating upper and lower) located on the appliance. Never pull on the cord to unplug it.

Can the vacuum suck up liquids?

No, this vacuum is intended only for dry cleaning. Never vacuum liquids, hot ashes, sharp objects or flammable substances.

How to use the electric brush?

Attach the electric brush to the appliance's joint like the standard brush, then insert the electrical connector into the provided socket. Make sure the brush is properly connected before use.

Where to find spare parts?

Use only Hoover parts. References (e.g., pre-motor filter S101-35601149, brushes) are indicated in the manual. Order from your authorized Hoover dealer.

How to clean the mini turbo brush?

In case of obstruction, open the inspection cover located under the appliance. Remove debris (hair, threads) blocking the brush. Close the cover after cleaning.

This cleaner should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance. Use only attachments recommended or supplied by Hoover.

When using cleaning tools ensure to always steady the product with your other hand. This will ensure the product does not fall while in use.

WARNING: Electricity can be extremely dangerous. This appliance is double insulated and must not be earthed. This plug is fitted with a 13 amp fuse (UK only).

IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains power lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Blue - Neutral Brown - Live

STATIC ELECTRICITY: Some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to health.

AFTER USE: Switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply.

Always switch off and remove the plug before cleaning the appliance or attempting any maintenance task.

SAFETY WITH CHILDREN, ELDERLY OR THE INFIRM: Do not let children play with the appliance or its controls. Please supervise the use of the appliance by older children, the elderly or the infirm.

• Use your cleaner out of doors or on any wet surface or for wet pick up. Keep hands, feet, loose clothing and hair away from rotating brushes.
• Pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or other similar items.
• Spray with or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols or their vapours as this may cause risk of fire / explosion.
• Run over the supply cord when using your cleaner or remove the plug by pulling on the supply cord.
• Stand on or wrap the power cord around arms or legs when using the cleaner.
• Use the appliance to clean people or animals.
• Continue to use your cleaner if it appears to be faulty. If the supply cord is damaged stop using the cleaner IMMEDIATELY. To avoid a safety hazard, an authorised Hoover service engineer must replace the supply cord.

PREPARING YOUR CLEANER

1. Remove the accessories from the main packaging. You will find the following:

6. Mini-turbo nozzle*

7. Assemble the cleaner handle and fix in position with the supplied screw. [2a]

8. Secure the flexi tube handle to the rear of the cleaner handle. [2b]
9. Secure the nozzle to the product [2c], and fix the product in the stand alone position.

For models equipped with Parquet Caresse nozzle*:

Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. For parquet floors and other delicate floors.

For models equipped with floor polish*:

1. If needed, the Floor Polisher can to be attached underneath the Carpet and Floor nozzle. [3]
2. The floor polisher is ideal to polish hard floor, marble and wooden floor.

For models equipped with electric power nozzle*:

The electric power nozzle has to be secured to the product neck as per the carpet and floor nozzle [4a], but the electrical connection must be inserted to Electric power nozzle socket. [4b]

For models equipped with Grand Turbo Nozzle*:

Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. Use the turbo nozzle for deep cleaning on carpets.

For models equipped with mini-turbo nozzle*:

Ideal to clean soft furnishings and for the pet hairs removal.

1. The mini-turbo nozzle can be connected directly to the flexitube handle or the lance. [5a]
2. If any blockages are encountered, please open the inspection cover on the underside. [5b]

Cord storage:

To store the cord after cleaning wrap the cord around the two cord hooks. [6]

USING YOUR CLEANER

Power switch:

1. To switch the cleaner on, rotate the power control knob on the handle. [7]
2. To switch off the product, rotate the same knob.

Cleaner lock release:

To start cleaning, unlock the cleaner by pressing with your foot the locking pedal on the nozzle. [8]

Using the flexi tube with accessories:

The flexi tube gives you the maximum flexibility of usage. it can be used alone or combined with the accessories, as desired. To vacuum with the supplied accessories:

1. Select accessory mode by rotating the carry handle/accessory mode activator to accessory position until locked in position. [9]
2. Remove the flexi tube from the location in the back of the cleaner handle. [10]

1. To use the extension tube: remove the tube from the door by unclipping from the top. [11] Attach to the flexitube. [12a]
2. To use the dusting brush: remove the tool from the location in the body of the product by pressing the middle of the component [13a] then unclipping from the top. [13b] Attach to the flexitube. [12b]
3. To return to floor vacuuming push the floor mode button. [14]

IMPORTANT - When using cleaning tools, the cleaner must be kept in the upright position, and held. It must not be used in the stand alone position without the user holding the product. [15]

CLEANER MAINTENANCE

Replacing the disposable bag

1. Lay the cleaner on a flat surface, pull back the door release button and remove the bag door. [16]
2. Remove the disposable bag, close the flap to lock the contents and dispose. [17]
3. Take a new bag and fit the collar with the location in the main body and rotate until fixed. [18]
4. Locate tabs on door as shown and close door.

Attention: this product is fitted with a mechanism that prevents the door closing when there is no bag fitted.

Note: the bag may need changed frequently when picking up material such as powder or fine dust or when cleaning new carpets.

Cleaning the washable pre-motor filter

1. Lay the cleaner on a flat surface, pull back the door release button and remove the bag door. [16]
2. Remove the old pre motor filter by pressing the finger tab to release. [19]
3. Gently tap the filter against the side of a bin to release excess dust. [20]
4. If deeper cleaning is required: Wash the filter thoroughly under hand warm water until the water runs clean. [21]
5. Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry for 24 hours. DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR DETERGENTS. [22]
6. Refit bag door as above.

IMPORTANT - For optimum performance, shake off excess dust from the filters regularly. We recommend that the filter is washed every 3 months.

Note: Do not use the cleaner without filters assembled.
