How to install the WS9192EM hood?

Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. Ensure the exhaust duct is properly connected and the hood is firmly fixed to the wall. Respect the minimum distances from the cooking hob (usually 65 cm for electric cooking, 75 cm for gas).

How to clean the grease filters?

The metal grease filters are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand with a sponge and detergent. Let them dry completely before refitting. For dishwasher washing, use a program at max 55°C.

When should the charcoal filter be replaced?

The charcoal filter must be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on use. It is not washable. A saturation indicator may light up on some models.

The hood is very noisy, is this normal?

The maximum noise level is 65 dB at boost speed. At speed 1, it is about 40 dB. If the noise is abnormal, check that the filters are clean and nothing is blocking the duct.

How to use the boost function?

Press the boost button (often a turbine symbol) to activate maximum power for 5 minutes. The hood automatically returns to the previous speed after that time.

Can I use the hood without an exhaust duct?

Yes, in recirculation mode. You must install a charcoal filter. The air is filtered and then returned to the room. This mode is less efficient than external extraction.

How to replace the LED lighting?

The LEDs are integrated and must be replaced by an authorized technician. Contact Atag after-sales service if a bulb stops working.

What to do if the buttons do not respond?

Unplug the hood for 1 minute then plug it back in. If the problem persists, check that the touch screen is not dirty. Clean with a soft cloth. If nothing works, call customer service.

What is the power consumption in standby?

The standby consumption is less than 0.5 W, compliant with European standards.

Introduction

When you have read these instructions for use, you will quickly be aware of all the facilities the appliance can offer you. You can read about safety and how you should look after the appliance.

Keep the instructions for use and the installation instructions.

Any later user of this appliance could benefit from them.

Attention!

Make sure the appliance is installed by an authorised installer (see “Installation” chapter). Do not connect the appliance to the flow network before completing the installation.

• Connect the appliance in accordance with the applicable regulations in your area.
• We advise you to wear protective work gloves during the installation of the cooker hood due to possible sharp edges.
• The appliance has been manufactured in accordance with the latest safety standards. However we do advise that mentally handicapped, disabled or retarded individuals do not use this appliance without the proper supervision of a competent person. The same applies to children.
• Never use the cooker hood when the grease filter has not been properly installed!
• Do not lean against the cooker hood.
• The hood must never be used as a support surface unless specifically indicated.
• Make sure there is sufficient circulation when you use the cooker
• hood on a gas cooker.
• The exhaust exit must never be connected to a smoke duct which is also used for other heating appliances.
• Never flambé under the cooker hood and always clean the filters on time. Frying needs to be done under constant supervision to prevent the heated fat from catching fire.
• The cooker hood needs to be cleaned regularly (at least once a month) on the inside as well as on the outside. When the filters are insufficiently cleaned or replaced, this will result in a fire hazard.
• If the connection cable becomes damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer's service department or by a person with equivalent qualifications, in order to prevent dangerous situations from arising.

Attention!

• First disconnect the appliance from the socket when you replace the lights!
• Only use identical lamps with the wattage indicated. Only use the cooker hood with lamps installed to reduce the risk of electrical shock.
• The grease filters become hot during operation. Wait a minimum of 30 minutes after cooking before cleaning it.
• The main current must be switched off during reparation or cleaning. Remove the plug from the mains current or turn the switch in the meter cupboard to zero.
• Grease and oil are flammable when they are overheated. Stay in the vicinity of the cooker when preparing food.
• We will not accept any responsibility for any faults, damage or fires caused to the appliance as a result of the non-observance of the instructions included in this manual.

Extraction systems

Depending on the type, the cooker hoods can be connected in one of two ways:

1. To a duct. To a duct, the cooking vapours extracted by suction are carried outside, once the grease particles have been filtered. This is the best method.
2. Recirculation hood. As a recirculation hood, the grease particles and the smell in the extracted vapours are filtered. The air that has been sucked in is not carried outside but recirculates in the kitchen. In this case you must have a carbon filter fitted.

Attention! The carbon filter needs to be ordered separately.

Operation

Switching the extractor fan on and off

Push the OFF button B.

The extractor fan switches on at the lowest setting.

Push the OFF button B for a minimum of two seconds.

The extractor fan switches off.

Switching the lighting on and off

Push the lighting button A

The lighting switches on.

Push button A again.

The lighting switches off.

Adjusting the speed

Push the +button C.

The extractor fan switches to a higher speed. After speed 3 the extractor fan switches to the intensive setting.

Timer

Push button D.

The timer is activated. The extractor fan remains switched on at the chosen setting for 15 minutes, after which it switches off.

Push button D again.

The timer is switched off.

The timer does not work in the intensive setting!

Operation

Clean air

Push button D for 2 seconds (when switched off).

The Clean air function is activated.

The extractor fan is switched on for 10 minutes every hour. In the display this function is indicated with 2 revolving segments.

After 10 minutes the extractor fan switches off and 'C' is shown in the display.

Replacing filters

If the letter ‘F’ is shown in the display alternating with the chosen setting, the grease filters must be cleaned.

If the letter ‘A’ is shown in the display alternating with the chosen setting, the carbon filters must be replaced.

Reset the controls after replacement or cleaning of the filters.

Push the lighting button A for 5 seconds.

Letter 'F' or 'A' disappears from the display.

Cleaning

Attention! Before performing any maintenance operation, isolate the hood from the electrical supply by switching off at the connector and removing the connector fuse. Or if the appliance has been connected through a plug and socket, then the plug must be removed from the socket.

The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly (at least with the same frequency with which you carry out maintenance of the fat filters) internally and externally. Do not use abrasive products. Do not use alcohol!

Attention! Failure to carry out the basic cleaning recommendations of the cooker hood and replacement of the filters may cause fire risks. Therefore, we recommend oserving these instructions.

The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage to the motor or any fire damage linked to inappropriate maintenance or failure to observe the above safety recommendations.

Cooker hood

Clean the cooker hood with soapy water and a soft cloth. Then wipe with clean water to rinse. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as soda. The cooker hood paintwork will stay looking nice if you wax it occasionally.

Stainless steel canopy hoods

Do not use any sort of scourer. Treat with a stainless steel care product and polish with the structure of the stainless steel.

Metal grease filters

These must be cleaned once a month (or when the filter saturation indication system – if envisaged on the model in possession – indicates this necessity) using non aggressive detergents, either by hand or in the dishwasher, which must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. The openings must be placed downwards to let the water run out of the filters. The cleaning agents will make the aluminium filter turn dull, this is normal.

Removing grease filters

Switch off the main Voltage! Remove the plug from the socket or turn the switch in the meter box to zero. Pull the filter towards you and tilt it down and forwards.

Replacing the carbon filter

Use a carbon filter if the extractor fan is not connected to an exhaust duct.

1. Remove the grease filters
2. Install the carbon filters
3. Install the grease filters.

Important:

• The saturation of the filter depends on the intensity of use, the cooking method and the regularity with which the grease filters are cleaned.
• The carbon filter must be replaced a minimum of every four months.
• Carbon filters cannot be washed for re-use. Saturated carbon is not environmentally friendly. Replace the filter in time.

Bulbs

• Remove the cover from the bulb
• Replace the halogen bulb with a new bulb of a maximum of 20 Watts.
  • Install the cover again.

Replacing bulbs (WS6011IM/WS9011IM/WS1211IM)

• Gently press the front side of the window (A) and it should tilt open slightly.
• Open the window fully and fit a new 20 W halogen bulb (A).
  Note: do not touch the bulb's glass with your fingers.
  • Gently push the window closed again.

General

This appliance should be connected to the power supply by a recognized fitter who is familiar with, and works according to the correct safety regulations. This appliance meets the European requirements.

Important that you know:

• The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the gashob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 65 cm. For use with an electric, ceramic or induction hob, this distance must be at least 55 cm.
• If the cooker hood is to be fitted to an existing duct no other appliances, such as a geyser or heater, may be connected to that same duct.
• Consider local regulations with respect to the ventilation of gas appliances.
• The shorter the duct, and the fewer the bends in it, the better the cooker hood will work.
• Before you start drilling check that there are no installation cables present.
• The connecting pipe for the cooker hood has a diameter of 120 or 150 mm. It is best also to use a flue pipe of the same diameter.
• The installation material supplied with this range hood is designed for fixing to reinforced concrete or masonry walls. For some types of walls you may need special plugs and screws.

Connection

Electrical connection

This is an (insulation) class II (double insulated) device. This means that the cable does not have to be connected to an earthed socket.

Check that the Voltage state don the type plate corresponds with the Voltage on the home installation.

Connection to the Electricity grid must be as follows:

BROWN = L phase

BLUE = N neutral wire

This extractor fan is fitted with a connection plug. Install the extractor fan in such way that the plug is accessible. Place the wall socket preferably out of sight, behind the decorative tube.

Attention: If you make a permanent connection you must ensure that an omnipolar switch with a contact gap of a minimum of 3 mm is fitted in the supply cable.

Fitting

- Screw the extractor fan to the wall with the aid of the plugs and the screws (A). Refer to the dimensions.

- First, adjust the width of the brackets to the width of the top pipe. Then screw the bracket to the wall with the plugs and screws (B). Be aware of the gap between the bracket and the ceiling (refer to the dimensions).

- Place the exhaust pipe on the flange (C) and then on the connection of the exhaust grill. - Insert the plug into the dead wall socket.

- If there is an external motor, this must be connected to the connector box depicted opposite. - Connect the motor in accordance with the diagram in the connection box.

- Place the top tube in the bottom tube. - Screw the bottom tube onto the extractor fan with the screws B). - Click the top tube into the bracket and screw this tight with the screws (A).

Disposal

Disposal of appliance and packaging

By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. The local authorities can provide you with the relevant information.

The packaging of this appliance is recyclable. It could have been made from:
