What does the code 88 displayed on the fan screen mean and why does the device stop?
Frequently Asked Questions - 20 j
Response Notice-Facile

The code 88 displayed on the FAGOR CA-90CI fan screen generally indicates a malfunction of the electronic board or the device's sensors. This display followed by an automatic shutdown is a protective mechanism for the device.

Main causes:

  • Sensor fault: The safety sensor (tilt detection, overheating, or obstruction) may have triggered the automatic protection shutdown.
  • Electrical supply issue: An unstable or insufficient voltage (220-240 V) can generate this error code.
  • Electronic board failure: A malfunction of the induction motor control circuit.

Recommended actions:

  • Unplug the fan for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a reset. This is often effective for temporary electronic errors.
  • Ensure that the device is plugged into a stable power outlet (220-240 V, 50 Hz) without a faulty extension cord.
  • Make sure that the safety foot switch is not activated (automatic shutdown in case of tipping).
  • If the code 88 persists after resetting, it is an electronic fault that requires repair. Contact FAGOR customer service with your model number CA-90CI - the device comes with a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

The code 88 is not documented in the provided manual, but it clearly falls under an automatic protection of the electronic system that justifies warranty coverage if the problem persists.
