How to set up the Invenio UL 3P tent?

AUFBAU - ALLGEmEiNE HiNWEiSE:

• Observe the safety instructions for every device used in the tent.
  • Always ensure free access to passage ways, exits and air inlets.
  • Inform yourself of the site regulations and observe the safety precautions with regard to fire.
• Avoid allowing substances that may be hazardous to your health, such as cooker or car fumes, into the tent (e.g. for the Drive Base/Van models).
• Wear shoes. Tent pegs or other anchors may have sharp edges.
  • Do not arrange the guy lines across or on footpaths - you or others may trip over them in the dark.
• UV rays will damage the fabric and the coating. Whenever possible, pitch your tent in the shade. Care for it regularly with Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof (see "Care Instructions" section).

PiTCHiNG PoSiTiO _N :

• Pitch your tent in a place protected against wind and not in depressions in which water can build up.
• Set up the tent in a suitable wind direction – Entrance in the wind shadow.
• Bear in mind that if you pitch close to water, more dampness from condensation may build up in your tent.
• Do not pitch your tent in dangerous places: for example, in ravines, below rocks, near rivers which feed from glaciers, next to fire areas or in the woods.
• Remove pointed or sharp-edged objects which could damage the tent floor.
• To protect the tent floor, a groundsheet is recommended.
• Whenever possible, pitch your tent in the shade - avoid the full sun.
• When camping in the snow and in very cold temperatures, dig a „cold trench“ the apse in which the cold air will collect.
• Remove any snow loads from the tent in good time.

- To avoid the risk of fire and asphyxiation, do not cook inside the tent. If it is unavoidable, make sure you have sufficient air supply and locate the cooker as far away from the tent walls as possible. To achieve this, you may detach the inner tent and fold it out of the way.

ASSEMBLY - GENERAL iNFOrmatioN:

VAUDE tents are easy to assemble. If one of the steps is not going smoothly, do not use force but instead find out what the problem is.

• Spread the tent out on the ground (the inner and outer tents are connected when shipped). If it is windy, we recommend securing the tent on a ruck-sack, rock, etc.
• Spread the poles out and put them together - do not throw. Make sure that the segment connections are seamless, otherwise they could break when bent. Push them into the channels rather than pulling them.
• Put up the tent in a manner that avoids putting ex-

cessive tensile load on the entrance zip - this ensures the specified service life. Use the strain release closures at the bottom of the entry.

• Insert the tent pegs at a 60° angle (X).
- In the event of strong winds or a storm, it is necessary to additionally secure the tent with the attached storm cords. To adjust the length of the storm cord, push the Stormcord Collector up or down. If the storm cord is not required, wrap the cord around the Stormcord Collector and secure the end on the hook provided for this purpose (V).
- The VAUDE Y-tent pegs that come with the tent are very rigid and ideally suited for harder ground and grass. For extremely hard ground, we recommend tent pins. For very soft ground, snow or sand, VAUDE offers a special tent peg. When inserted vertically, it is suitable for soft ground and when inserted horizontally, for sand and fresh snow (Y).

SETTING UP - "MODEL-SPECIFIC":

Please follow these instructions step by step, the order is important.

1. Clear the ground of any sharp items (We recommend the use of a optional groundsheet protector).
2. Spread out the tent on the ground. Please note: Inner and outer tent are delivered attached to each other.
3. Lay out the poles and assemble. NB: the two shorter porch poles (C) must be laid out at a 90° angle to the longer ridge pole (A).
4. Insert the ends of the ridge pole into the respective grommet at the tent's base diagonally opposite (B1). Insert the ends of the longer side of the porch poles into the respective grommet at the tent's base (B2). Insert the ends of the shorter side into the grommets above the porch (B3).
5. Starting from the middle place the cords over the ridge pole and hook over the loop below. Then, moving from above to below, proceed to do the same with the other poles (C).
6. Anchor the porch and, if necessary, use guy ropes.

Please note: It is best to wrap the webbings of the guy ropes around the poles (d).

1. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. The porch is ideal for individual adjustments.

diSASSEmBLY - GENERAL iNFoRmATioN:

• Remove all objects from inside the tent.
• Self-supporting constructions are easy to shake out to conveniently remove leaves, sand, etc.
• Allow the tent some time to dry, with the tent floor facing upward.
• If you are unable to let the tent dry immediately, shake it out and allow it to dry within 12 hours of use to prevent mold and mildew stains.
• When disassembling the tent, never pull the poles through the channels; push them instead.
• When storing the tent in the pack, make sure neither the tent pegs nor the poles create pressure marks that could damage the tent wall.
• Close all zips before disassembly and roll up the guy lines - this will make it easier to assemble the tent the next time you use it!

diSASSEmBLY - SPECiFiC To EACH modEL:

1. Pull out the tent pegs.
2. Unhook the ropes.
3. Remove first the ridge pole and then the other poles.
4. Fold up the poles and roll them up with the tent, if possible. Do not force the poles into the storage bag if it is full as this may cause damage to the storage bag and tent.

SToRAGE/CARE/REPAIRS:

• If the tent is dry and clean, you can store it inside the pack in a dry, cool place. Do not store the tent near paint, lacquer, adhesives, fuel or plastics and lubricants. The fumes could adversely affect the service life of the coatings.
• Zips are always a weak point. If the become dirty, clean them with a (tooth)brush and care for them with graphite (pencil lead), silicone or sewing machine oil. Apply these substances with care and remove any excess oil with a soft cloth.
• Never store a wet tent for any length of time. Remove it from the pack immediately after the tour and dry it in a well-ventilated place. To do this, separate the inner tent from the outer tent or push the poles through to create a gap between the materials.
• Do not drop the poles or allow the segments to spring together. This could damage the pole ends or the anodisation. Check the poles regularly for damage - no hairline cracks should be visible. If you see signs of corrosion (due to salt water, for example), rinse the poles and apply silicone spray.

- VAUDE uses only tent poles from renowned manufacturers DAC and Yunan. These are subjected to light bending when in use, which reduces their susceptibility to breaking. Do not try to bend them back into shape. Despite the outstanding elasticity of the aluminium, the poles can still break. A matching repair ferrule comes with every VAUDE tent. Push it onto the pole, centred over the break and secure it with tape (z).

- Only clean by hand, with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. Detergents may damage the coating and waterproofing.

In cases of stubborn dirt, create a 1:4 solution of Nikwax Tech Wash and water, and use it to carefully rub off the dirt. Next, apply a generous amount of Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof to waterproof the area again.

- You can provisionally seal a tear in the tent with repair tape and seal it on the inside with PU or silicone seam seal. In any case, the tear should be repaired by an expert as quickly as possible in order to avoid

further tearing. Please contact a specialist shop in this regard.

- If necessary, you can re-tighten the poles (the rubber tension declines when very cold or due to age). To do this, remove the end cap and loosen the knot. Tie a new knot at a place farther away from the end (W).

• Sealing – siliconized materials cannot be factory seam sealed. When camping in extremely rainy conditions, we recommend sealing all seams by hand with VAUDE silicone seam sealer (art. no. 30284).
