WMF Aluminium Frying Pans with Durit Protect Plus non-stick coating Instructions for use and care

with Durit Protect Plus non-stick coating

Congratulations on your choice. You have selected a quality product from WMF. High grade materials, first class manufacture and meticulous quality control guarantee durability. With the fully developed design and the well thought out function, it will certainly prove its worth.

WMF frying pans with non-stick coating are a guarantee for success. It is an aid to low fat cooking and this is an important contribution to healthy nutrition.

If used in the way it was designed even with a minimum of fat nothing burns or sticks. A further important advantage: the non-stick coating means cleaning is really easy.

Quality characteristics

  • Durit protect plus non-stick coating: made to last - robust - scratch-resistant.
  • Suitable for all conventional cookers. Not for induction cookers.
  • To fit all frying pans: glass lid made of heat-resistant quality glass for visual cooking.
    • Regular household sizes.
  • If the following advice is adhered to, easy to care for and durable.

Please read following Instructions for use and care thoroughly before first use.

Instructions for use

  • Before first use remove any stickers, wash in hot water and dry thoroughly.
  • Use the highest setting only to heat up, turn down the heat in good time and finish cooking the food at moderate heat.
  • Use the lowest setting especially when cooking with little water and little fat.
  • Pans and lids without plastic parts are also suitable for the oven. Please use oven gloves as the handles can get hot in the oven.

Safety and care instructions

• Before first use wash the frying pan thoroughly

in hot water and dry well.

- Oil the non-stick coating lightly with cooking oil or cooking fat.

- The best cooking results are achieved at medium or low temperatures. However, should high temperatures be necessary for frying, heat up the pan quickly for a few minutes before reducing the heat.

- Caution: Overheating can damage the non-stick coating. Never leave the frying pan unattended on the cooker; in the case of severe overheating and smoke in the kitchen, air thoroughly. Any slight discoloration of the surface on the inside of the base that may occur does not affect the quality of the product.

- Never heat up the frying pan when empty and ensure that the liquid in the food does not completely evaporate. If this is ignored it may damage the pan, or the hob.

- Even if after due care has been taken food has burnt badly, remove the black burnt food immediately to protect the non-stick effect.

- Clean the frying pan as soon as possible after use. As a measure of gentle care we recommend wiping the frying pan with kitchen paper or washing by hand in hot water and washing up liquid. Modern compressed detergent could affect aluminium cookware in the dishwasher

and cause damage.

  • Soak residue food and carefully remove with a sponge or brush. (We recommend Scotch Brite cleaning sponge "Kratzt nicht 3M").
  • Please do not use steel wool or cleaning fluid containing sand.
    • After cleaning oil the surface with cooking oil or fat once more.
  • If the handle of your pan becomes loose, tighten the screw on the handle using a commercially available screwdriver. Discontinue use of the pan until this has been done.
  • If the plastic handles are damaged due to inappropriate use, your retailer will be pleased to supply you with replacements.

Instructions for food preparation

When frying with fat always put the fat into the empty pan before heating it up!

Turn up the heat to medium-high or medium temperature at most. Turn down the heat when the fat begins to smoke lightly. Then lay the food to be fried into the pan. This way you avoid overheating the non-stick coating!

Important! Use margarine or butter for egg, fish, flour and potato dishes. Use oil and hard fat for meat (without breading) only.

Be careful with hot fat.

WMF 05 7001 4291 - Instructions for food preparation - 1

Never leave a hot pan without attention.

Extinguish burning fat with a blanket or a fire extinguisher.

When frying foods without fat there is no oil to give an indication of how hot he pan is. For this reason heat up the pan to medium temperature at most and make sure that it does not overheat, as this could impair the effect of the non-stick coating.

Instructions for electric cookers

WMF frying pans are available in the usual household sizes.

Where electric hobs are used the diameter of the hob should correspond to the diameter of the frying pan to make better use of energy.

Hob Frying pan

small ∅ 14.5 cm ∅ 20 cm

medium ∅ 18 cm ∅ 24 cm

large ∅ 22 cm ∅ 28 cm

Instruction for ceramic hobs

To prevent unnecessary scratches do not drag or pull te cookware over the hob. On glass ceramic hobs with raised decoration using aluminium

frying pans may cause stripes and lines to appear, which can be easily removed by the following method. Spray the hob with oven cleaner and leave on for a long time. Rub the hob firmly until den marks have disappeared. This does not damage your ceramic hob.
