Frequently Asked Questions - Fusion 3100L GBC

How to use cold lamination on the Fusion 3100L?
For cold lamination, make sure the machine is turned off and unplugged. Insert the document into a cold lamination pouch. Turn on the machine and select cold mode (usually a low temperature setting). Feed the pouch through the machine. The adhesive roller will apply pressure without heat.
What is the recommended maximum pouch thickness?
The maximum pouch thickness is 250 microns (i.e., two sheets of 125 microns each). Using thicker pouches could damage the machine.
What to do if the machine does not heat up?
Check that the machine is plugged in and turned on. Wait for the warm-up time (about 3 minutes). If the 'Ready' indicator does not light up, check the fuse or contact technical support. Never use the machine without the indicator being lit.
How to clean the laminator rollers?
Use a special laminator cleaning sheet. Run it through the machine while hot (medium temperature) to remove adhesive residues. You can also gently clean with a slightly damp soft cloth, but without solvent.
Can I laminate photos?
Yes, but use pouches suitable for photos (with UV protection preferably). Avoid overly thick pouches. For small format photos, center them well in the pouch to avoid jams.
The machine makes an abnormal noise, what to do?
Turn off the machine immediately. Check that there is no paper jam or foreign object. Clean the rollers. If the noise persists, contact after-sales service. The normal sound level is below 65 dB.
What type of pouch to use?
Use standard thermal lamination pouches of A3 size or smaller, with a total thickness of 250 microns maximum. Pouches must be suitable for the adjustable temperature (80-140°C). Do not use cold self-adhesive pouches in hot mode.
How to avoid paper jams?
Make sure the document is well centered in the pouch and that the pouch is not folded. Use a pouch suitable for the size of the document. Never force the pouch into the inlet. If a jam occurs, use the reverse function to remove the pouch.
Does the machine overheat?
The maximum temperature is 140°C. If the machine overheats, it shuts off automatically. Let it cool down before reusing. Check that the ventilation slots are not blocked.
Where to find spare parts for the Fusion 3100L?
Spare parts (rollers, fuses, cleaning sheets) are available from authorized GBC dealers or on their website. Contact customer support for exact references.
