How to install the outdoor sensor?

Place the sensor outdoors, sheltered from direct rain and sun. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the sensor, then turn on the indoor unit. Pairing occurs automatically within 3 minutes.

Why is the outdoor temperature display flashing?

This indicates a loss of connection with the outdoor sensor. Check that the sensor batteries are still good and that the distance between units does not exceed 30 meters. Reset if necessary.

How to set the time and date?

Press the 'SET' button until the time flashes. Use the '+' and '-' arrows to adjust the values. Press 'SET' again to go to the next setting (minutes, year, month, day).

What type of batteries to use?

Use AAA alkaline batteries for the indoor unit and outdoor sensor. Avoid rechargeable batteries as their voltage is lower.

Is the sensor range sufficient?

The maximum range is 30 meters in open field. Thick walls, metal devices, or interference can reduce this distance. Place the sensor at a height to improve reception.

How to interpret the weather trend?

The arrow indicates the change in atmospheric pressure: arrow up = improvement (drier weather), arrow down = deterioration (possible rain), horizontal = stable.

Can I use multiple sensors?

This model is designed for a single outdoor sensor. If you want multiple measurement points, you must use another receiver.

What to do if the screen stays blank?

Check that the batteries are correctly inserted (observe polarity) and that they are new. If the screen remains blank, remove the batteries, wait 30 seconds, and reinsert them.

How to clean the device?

Wipe the indoor unit with a soft, dry cloth. Never use chemical or abrasive products. The outdoor sensor can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth.

Is the weather station waterproof?

No, the indoor unit is not waterproof. The outdoor sensor is splash-resistant but should not be immersed. Protect it from direct weather.

5. Use

Refer to the illustrations on pages 2 and 3 of this manual.

• Remove the sensor cover [1] by releasing the screw at the back of the device and sliding the cover upwards.
• Press the ON/OFF button to switch the device on. Press again to switch it off.
• The device powers off automatically after ±20min. To disable auto-power off, press and hold the ON/OFF button until AP ON is displayed. Press the Unit button to toggle between AP ON and AP OFF and press the Func. button to confirm. To re-enable auto-power off switch the device off and repeat this procedure.
• Hold the anemometer perpendicular to the air flow; the wind must pass through the wind sensor [2] from the rear to the front.

Note: holding the anemometer not perpendicular to the wind will result in wrong measurements.

- Press the Unit button multiple times to scroll through the different speed measuring units [F]:

• Press and hold the Unit button for ±2s to change the temperature unit [G].
• Press the Func. button shortly to go into hold-mode [A]. The current measurement remains on the display.
• Press the Func. button again shortly to go into max-mode [B]; only the highest measured value is shown. Press the Func. button again shortly to go into min-mode [C]; only the lowest measured value is shown.
• To reset the maximum and minimum values, while in min-mode, press and hold the Func. button for ±2s.
• While in normal measuring mode, press and hold the Func. button ±2s to switch on the backlight. Press and hold again ±2s to switch the backlight off.
• When the battery indicator [H] is shown, replace the batteries (see §8).
• Always place the sensor cover [1] back when the device is not in use.

6. Operation tips

• Do not touch or disassemble the wind sensor [2].
• Do not measure outside of the operating range ('OL' is displayed on the LCD) and do not measure in places with high humidity. Refer to the technical specifications for more details.
• Consider mounting the device on a tripod (not incl.) for longer and more stable measurements.
• Make sure the device is at ambient temperature for accurate measurements.
• Remo ve the batteries when the device is not used for a long time.

7. Ma intenance

- Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents. DO NOT submerge the device in any liquid.

8. Ba iteries

• To replace the batteries, make sure the device is switched off.
- Open the battery cover at the back by sliding it downwards (away from the sensor).
- Take out the old batteries and replace them with 3 new and identical 1.5 V AAA batteries following the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
- Slide the battery cover back in place.

Do not puncture or throw batteries in fire. Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Do not attempt to recharge non-r echargeable batteries. Keep batteries away from children.

All our products fulfil strict quality requirements and legal stipulations in the EU. In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

• All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.
• Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

- Not covered by warranty:

- all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits;

- frequently replaced consumable goods, parts or accessories such as batteries, lamps, rubber parts, drive belts... (unlimited list);

- flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc.;

- flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions;

- damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);

- damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;

- all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.

- Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

- Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for

repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

• Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

- The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
