Frequently Asked Questions - DVM8010 VELLEMAN

How to install the DVM8010 weather station?
Insert the batteries into the indoor station and outdoor sensor. Place the outdoor sensor in a sheltered area. The indoor station automatically searches for the signal. Wait about 5 minutes for data to display.
How to reset the weather station?
Press the RESET button on the back of the device using a pointed object (paperclip). This erases all data and restarts sensor search.
How to change the batteries?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Remove old batteries and insert new AA batteries, respecting polarity. Use alkaline batteries for better battery life.
What to do if the display shows no outdoor signal?
Check that the outdoor sensor is on (LED blinking). Move the sensor closer to the indoor station. Reset both the station and sensor by pressing RESET on both devices.
What is the outdoor sensor range?
The range is approximately 30 meters in open field. Thick walls, metal obstacles, and interference can reduce this distance.
Where to place the outdoor sensor for accurate measurements?
Place the sensor outdoors, protected from direct sunlight, rain, and wind. Ideally under an overhang about 1.5 to 2 meters above ground. Avoid metal surfaces.
How to interpret the weather forecast?
The forecast icon (sun, cloud, rain) is based on the barometric pressure trend. A rapid rise indicates good weather, a rapid drop predicts rain. It does not replace official weather bulletins.
How to set the time and date?
Press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds. The year setting flashes. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to change, then press MODE to move to the next setting.
How to set the alarm?
Press ALARM to display the alarm time. Press and hold ALARM to enter setting mode. Use UP/DOWN to set hours and minutes. Press ALARM to confirm.
How to clean the weather station?
Clean the screen and housing with a soft, dry cloth. Never use detergents, alcohol, or abrasive products. Remove batteries before cleaning.
