Important safety information

For your own protection from injuries and electric shocks, the following information must be observed when using electrical equipment:

Read these operating instructions carefully and make sure you understand them before using the appliance!

· The appliance should only be used to dry hair.
- Only use the appliance for the proper use as described in the operating instructions.
- Keep packaging away from children because it can pose a danger (danger of suffocation).
- This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age), and also by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
- The operating instructions should be retained so that they can be referred to at a later date and should be passed on to all subsequent owners or users of the appliance.
- Only operate the appliance with an alternating current and with the voltage stated on the nameplate.

WARNING:

  • Do not use the appliance near bath tubs, showers or other water-filled containers. It should also not be used in areas of high humidity. Always disconnect from the mains power supply after use since water can pose a hazard, even when the appliance is switched off.
  • Never touch electrical equipment that has fallen into water. Disconnect from the mains immediately.
  • If the appliance is dropped into water, it may not be used again subsequently.
  • It is essential to PREVENT electrical equipment from coming into contact with water or other liquids.
  • Never use the appliance with wet hands or feet.
  • Never use the appliance when barefoot.

- The hairdryer is fitted with an overheat protection facility. Should the appliance overheat, the heating process is interrupted and only cold air flows out. After the appliance has cooled down, the heating element will switch on again automatically.

- As additional safety measure, it is recommended that a tested residual current appliance (RCD) with a residual operating current of not more than 30 mA be installed in the bathroom circuit. Ask your electrician for advice.

- Never operate the appliance without the air inlet cover in place.

- Disconnect from the mains before cleaning or servicing the appliance.

- When the appliance is new, sparking may occur at the collector of the motor inside the appliance. This phenomenon disappears after a brief operating period and does not indicate that there is any impairment of the appliance's operational safety.

- Never use the appliance if it is defective, if it has fallen onto the floor or if the mains cable is damaged. A damaged mains cable may only be replaced with an original replacement cable by an authorised Service Centre or another similarly qualified person, in order to avoid hazards.

- Repairs may only be performed at an authorised Service Centre using original parts. Only specialists properly trained in the handling of electrotechnical appliances may repair electrical equipment.

- Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

- When disconnecting the appliance from the mains, never pull on the mains cable or on the appliance itself.

- Do not hold the appliance by the mains cable to carry it and do not use the cable as a handle.

- Do not wind the mains cable around the appliance.

- Keep the mains cable and appliance away from hot surfaces.

- Make sure that the mains cable is not twisted or kinked when used and stored.

- When using a diffuser, never set the hairdryer to a high temperature as this could result in the overheating of the diffuser or hairdryer.

· Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the appliance.

- Never use the appliance where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is released.

- The appliance is safety insulated and radio screened. It meets the requirements of EU Directive 2004/108/EC regarding electromagnetic compatibility and EC Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.

- We are not liable for damage caused as a result of improper use or failure to observe these operating instructions.

Operation

- Connect to the mains power supply.

- The hairdryers have two heat settings and two fan settings. Separate switches allow four or six temperature/fan settings. The cold-shot switch can be used to fix the hairstyle:

On/off switch (F):

- Switch on the appliance at the on/off switch (F) and set the desired fan setting.

Fan-setting switch (E):

● Fan setting 1, for a gentle airflow

● ● Fan setting 2, for a strong airflow

- Select the required temperature setting.

Switch for temperature settings (D):

● Temperature setting 1, for hot air

● ● Temperature setting 2, for hotter air

Cold-shot button (C):

By pressing the button and keeping it depressed, the hairdryer can be briefly switched to cold air. To return to the set temperature, simply release the button.

- Using the on/off switch (F), switch off the appliance after use.

Styling with the nozzle

The nozzle can be used to direct the airflow onto the styling brush.

- Position the nozzle and press it towards the housing (Fig. 2⑧).

- To remove the nozzle, simply pull it off in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 2 ^⑥ ).

Cleaning and care

- Disconnect from the mains before cleaning the appliance.

- Do not immerse the appliance in water!

- Only wipe the appliance with a soft cloth, which may be dampened slightly.

Do not use solvents or abrasives!

- To maintain the performance of your hairdryer, regularly clean the air inlet with a soft dry brush.

To do so, proceed as follows:

- Twist the cover in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig. 3 ^⑧ ) and remove.

- Clean the cover and air inlet with a soft brush (Fig. 4).

- Replace the cover and turn in a clockwise direction until it clicks into position (Fig. 3 ^6 ).

Do not dispose of the appliance with domestic refuse. As part of the EU Directive governing the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, the appliance is accepted free of charge by local waste collection points or recycling centres.

Disposal in non-EU countries

At the end of its service life, please dispose of the appliance in accordance with statutory requirements.
