How to connect the Pioneer IDK-90C to my AV receiver?

Use the supplied iPod control cable. Connect the terminal on the back of the dock to the dedicated iPod terminal on your Pioneer AV receiver. Make sure the receiver is off before connecting.

Which iPod models are compatible with the IDK-90C dock?

The dock is compatible with 3rd to 5th generation iPods: iPod 20GB, 40GB, mini, nano, as well as color models 20/30GB and 40/60GB. Use the supplied adapter matching your model.

How to clean the Pioneer IDK-90C?

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stains, use a slightly damp cloth with a solution of water and neutral detergent (5-6 parts water to 1 part detergent). Never use solvents or chemicals.

Can I use the dock without a Pioneer AV receiver?

No, the dock requires a Pioneer AV receiver with a dedicated iPod control cable terminal to function. It cannot be used independently.

How to choose the right iPod adapter for my device?

Refer to the list of iPod models and their corresponding adapters in the manual. For example, for an iPod nano, use the adapter marked 'nano'. Insert it into the designated slot.

Does the dock charge the iPod when connected?

Yes, once the iPod is inserted into the dock's connector port and the receiver is on, the iPod is automatically charged.

What if my iPod is not recognized by the receiver?

Check that the adapter is properly installed and that the control cable is securely connected. Make sure the receiver is powered on and the iPod input is selected. Refer to the receiver's manual.

Can the dock be used with devices other than iPods?

No, the Pioneer IDK-90C is designed exclusively for iPods. It does not support iPhones or other devices.

Where can I find spare parts for the dock?

Spare parts are not available individually. In case of failure, contact an authorized Pioneer service center.

Attaching the iPod type adapter

For your iPod to sit properly in the dock connector port, you will have to match the iPod type adapter with your model of iPod. Each iPod type adapter has a model marking as shown below.

After selecting the iPod type adapter that corresponds with your iPod unit, insert it into the iPod type adapter pocket as shown.

• It is also possible to connect an iPod type adapter from an original iPod dock.
• When using fifth generation iPod models with this system, please use the iPod type adapter supplied with your iPod unit.
• When using a third generation iPod model with this system, please use an 'Apple iPod Universal Dock adapter 3-pack for iPod with Dock Connector' available for purchase from Apple Inc.

Connecting up

Connecting to your Pioneer AV receiver

Connect this unit to a Pioneer AV receiver with a dedicated iPod control cable terminal. You will be able to use the remote control supplied with the receiver to control this unit.

Caution

Before connecting or disconnecting this unit from your AV receiver, make sure the power to the AV receiver is switched off.

1 Connect the terminal on this unit to the dedicated iPod terminal on the receiver.
Use the iPod control cable. Connect both ends as shown below (make sure the mark on the connector is facing upwards).
2 Place the iPod in the connector port.
3 Plug in and switch on your AV receiver.

Please refer to the manual supplied with the receiver for detailed instructions on operating the iPod using the iPod control cable.

Cleaning the unit

• Use a polishing cloth or dry cloth to wipe off dust and dirt.
• When the surface is dirty, wipe with a soft cloth dipped in some neutral cleanser diluted five or six times with water, and wrung out well, and then wipe again with a dry cloth. Do not use furniture wax or cleansers.
• Never use thinners, benzine, insecticide sprays or other chemicals on or near this unit, since these will corrode the surface.
