How to turn the computer on and off?

Press the power button located at the top left of the keyboard to turn on. To turn off, use the normal procedure via the Start menu or hold the button for 4 seconds if necessary.

What to do if the screen remains black?

Check that the computer is powered on (power light). Try pressing a key or moving the mouse. If nothing happens, hold the power button for 10 seconds to force shutdown, then turn on again.

How to use the special keys (Fn)?

Hold down the Fn key and press the desired function key (F1-F12). For example, Fn+F3 toggles Airplane mode, Fn+F5 switches display, Fn+F7 toggles touchpad.

How to connect an external monitor?

Connect the VGA or HDMI cable from the external monitor to the corresponding port on the computer. Press Fn+F5 to toggle between internal, external, or both displays.

The battery does not hold a charge, what to do?

Check that the AC adapter is properly connected and the charge light is orange. If the battery is old, it may need replacement. Contact an authorized Acer service center.

How to clean the computer?

Turn off and unplug the device. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the screen and casing. Never use chemicals or liquids. For the keyboard, use compressed air.

7	K	Kensington lock slot	Connects to a Kensington-compatible computer security lock. Wrap the computer security lock cable around an immovable object such as a table or handle of a locked drawer. Insert the lock into the notch and turn the key to secure the lock. Keyless models are also available.

Using the keyboard

Your computer has a compact keyboard with an embedded numeric keypad.

Hotkeys

The computer employs hotkeys or key combinations to access most of the computer's controls like screen brightness and volume output.

To activate hotkeys, press and hold the Fn key before pressing the other key in the hotkey combination.
