Frequently Asked Questions - Dry 12 DH1W-12 WILFA

How do I set the desired humidity level?
Press the Humidity button repeatedly to select a level between 30% and 80% relative humidity. The display will show the set value.
What should I do when the water tank is full?
The unit will stop automatically and the Full Tank indicator will light up. Empty the tank and reinstall it to resume operation.
Can I use a continuous drainage hose?
Yes. Remove the plug from the continuous drain outlet at the back of the unit, attach a hose (inner diameter 12 mm, not included), and route it to a drain.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the filter every two weeks to ensure efficient operation. Remove the filter, wash it with warm water and mild detergent, let it dry completely before reinserting.
Why does the dehumidifier blow warm air?
The dehumidifier uses a compressor that produces heat during operation. This is normal. The warm air helps dry the room slightly.
What is the ideal operating temperature?
The unit operates best between 5°C and 35°C. Below 12°C, performance may decrease and the auto defrost function will activate.
How do I use the timer function?
Press the Timer button repeatedly to set the desired off time from 1 to 24 hours. The timer indicator will light up.
Can I leave the dehumidifier running unattended?
Yes, the unit has auto shut-off features for full tank and overheating. However, always ensure the area is well-ventilated and the power cord is in good condition.
What does the auto defrost function do?
When the ambient temperature is too low, ice may form on the coils. The auto defrost function will automatically cycle the compressor off to melt the ice, then resume normal operation.
How do I clean the water tank?
Remove the tank and wash it with warm water and a mild detergent every few weeks. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinserting. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE FILTER

  • Rinse the filter in running warm water or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
  • After cleaning the filter, make sure it is dry before placing it back on the unit.

STORAGE

If you are not using the unit for an extended period (more than a 3 weeks), clean and dry it completely.

  1. Switch off the unit and unplug it.
  2. Empty the water tank and let it dry. If it is connected to the drain hose, check that it is empty, disconnect it and make sure it is dry.
  3. Remove the filter and clean with warm water. Let it dry before reinstalling it.
  4. The unit must be stored in upright position.
  5. Store it in a ventilated and dry space indoors free of any corrosive gases.

The evaporator inside the unit must be completely dry before storing. This is to avoid component damage and moulds. Unplug the unit and place it in a dry and open area for days to dry it out. Another way to dry it is to set the humidity point more than 5% higher than the ambient humidity to force the fan to dry the evaporator for a couple of hours.

TROUBLESHOOTING
