Frequently Asked Questions - KT 100 IMETEC

How do I descale my Imetec KT 100 kettle?
To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:2 ratio) or use a commercial descaling solution. Bring to a boil, let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Regular descaling prevents limescale buildup and ensures efficient operation.
Can I open the lid while the kettle is boiling?
No, do not open the lid during boiling as steam can cause burns. Wait until the kettle has automatically switched off and cooled down.
How should I clean the removable filter?
Remove the mesh filter and rinse it under running water. Use a soft brush to remove any deposits. Ensure it is fully dry before reinserting.
What is the maximum water level?
Do not fill beyond the maximum mark inside the kettle. Overfilling may cause boiling water to spill out.
Can I boil milk or other liquids?
This kettle is designed for water only. Boiling milk or other liquids may cause damage and is a safety hazard.
Why does the kettle turn off before the water boils?
This is likely due to limescale accumulation. Descale the kettle as described above. Also ensure the lid is closed properly.
How do I store the power cord?
Wrap the cord around the cord storage feature on the base of the kettle to keep it tidy and safe.
Is it safe to leave the kettle plugged in when not in use?
It is recommended to unplug the kettle when not in use to save energy and prevent any electrical risks.
Can I use the kettle on a metal or heat-sensitive surface?
Use the kettle on a stable, flat surface. Avoid placing it on metal surfaces that can conduct heat and damage the base.
What should I do if the kettle activates the boil-dry protection?
If the kettle switches off due to lack of water, let it cool down for a few minutes, then refill with water. It will automatically reset.
